Whether you're bringing a multi-generational family together, celebrating a milestone, or housing a team in town for work, Cooper Mountain Cabin gives your group the space, privacy, and comfort to actually settle in. Guests consistently describe the same moment when they arrive: the road disappears behind you, the trees take over, and the pace of the day slows down. One guest said it felt "like a mountain resort, yet only minutes from everything." That's exactly what this place is.
The Setting: Cooper Mountain Cabin is a secret forest inside a bustling city. Hidden away on 15 private acres of native Oregon forest, the cabin is fully surrounded by towering Douglas firs, not distant forest views, but immersive canopy-level scenery out of nearly every window. It feels remote. It isn't.
5 min to Cooper Mountain Nature Park 15 min to Nike World Headquarters & Intel 25 min to downtown Portland 36 min to Portland International Airport (PDX) Easy access to Willamette Valley wineries, the Oregon Coast & Mt. Hood
The Home: The layout is designed for groups who want to be together without being on top of each other. A generous main living space for gathering to eat and relax, and two lower levels of sleeping space for privacy when you need it. The chef's kitchen anchors this level, granite countertops, stainless appliances, full coffee and tea bar, and everything your group needs to cook real meals together. Then share memories while sitting around the dining table or in the open living room area while watching the game on the 65" TV. Main Lower Level: Primary king suite with ensuite bath and a private balcony surrounded by treetops, two additional bedrooms (one queen, one with two doubles), and a full bathroom. Lower Level: Two queen bedrooms, TV lounge with foosball table, and laundry, ideal for kids, teens, or anyone who wants their own space. Gathering spaces: Bright open living room with 65" Roku TV and sound bar, electric fireplace, large dining area, two newly rebuilt forest-view decks, propane BBQ, and fire pit.
For Families & Multi-Generational Groups: This is one of the rare properties where everyone finds their place, different generations spread across two levels of sleeping space, with a living room big enough to actually come together in. The fully stocked chef's kitchen means you can cook as a group, and the forest setting keeps everyone entertained with daily deer sightings and nearby trails. Guests have used the cabin for milestone birthday celebrations, holiday gatherings, graduation weekends, family reunions, and pre- or post-wedding family stays. Many leave saying they want to make it an annual trip.
For Corporate Groups & Work Retreats: Just 15 minutes from Nike World Headquarters and Intel, Cooper Mountain Cabin is a comfortable, private alternative to hotel blocks for teams attending conferences or corporate events in the Portland area. High-speed mesh Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, private bedrooms, and parking for 6+ vehicles make the logistics simple. Your team gets a real home base, not another generic hotel corridor.
Your Host: Echo is a local owner and Premier Host recognized for exceptional communication, cleanliness, and hospitality. Contactless check-in, responsive support, and thoughtful touches throughout make for a stay that feels genuinely cared for from arrival to checkout.
Seasonal Highlights: Spring: Blooming fruit trees, wildflowers, and active forest wildlife Summer: New decks, long evenings at the fire pit, grilling, and Willamette Valley winery day trips Fall: Misty mornings, golden canopy, and cozy evenings by the fire Winter: Peaceful and quiet, holiday lights & decor, board games, and the electric fireplace

Acerca de su propietario/a
Propietario/a: Echo Merrell
The first time we turned down the forest road to this cabin, we felt ourselves exhale, a deep, calming breath we didn’t know we needed. That same sense of peace is what we now love sharing with our guests. In 2021, we discovered our dream cabin nestled among the Douglas firs of Cooper Mountain and began preserving this beautiful stretch of native Oregon woodland. Surrounded by towering trees, lush ferns, and visiting deer, it’s become a place of serenity and inspiration. We’re honored to share this peaceful retreat with others who seek quiet, comfort, and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Por qué escogió este alojamiento
We love nature so being surrounded by such unique older growth forest really resonates with us. We are hikers, love to ski and snowboard up on Mt. Hood, love making day trips out to the ocean but also enjoy the convenience of living close to shopping, downtown events and the unique atmosphere of Portland and the PNW.
Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
Our family affectionately calls it the “Ewok House” for its treehouse-like design: living spaces above, bedrooms below, and balconies tucked into the forest canopy. The cabin feels completely private and surrounded by nature; when we first stayed here, we realized we didn’t even need curtains. A family of deer makes regular visits, often wandering through the orchard to snack on fallen pears and apples. Over time, we’ve come to recognize them by sight and they seem just as curious about us as we are enchanted by them.
