An exciting new addition to the rental program, this cabin continues to be improved and updated by the new cabin owners! Rental Property Accessed via a private driveway, the cabin is truly off on its own. From the lofted back deck views stretch out to either side down the valley below. Perched above Mountain Parkway, some highway noise is inevitable, but quickly fades into the background once you settle into the comforts of the cabin. A covered front porch also offers a relaxing place for a coffee in a rocking chair or porch swing. The New Hot Tub has room for everyone with one of the best panoramic sunset views we have to offer.

Inside, the cabin is full of personal touches and artwork from the cabin owners. The Full kitchen is stocked with all of the cookware and dinnerware you need for a weekend getaway or extended stay. Enjoy a meal inside or outside at either of the dining tables or kitchen bar stool seating. With a downstairs private bedroom hosting two full beds, as well as an upstairs loft with a queen bed, this is a great option for families or groups of friends looking to enjoy the nearby Red River Gorge. Curl up in front of the fireplace with a book, or choose a DVD or board game from the resident collection. Head up to the loft for a game of Foosball, where floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the same spectacular views. Cabin now has Wi-Fi and a Flat Screen Smart TV. Log in with your Netflix, Hulu, etc. and enjoy. Please make sure to log out when departing. The home is complimented with a newly renovated full bathroom with tub/shower combination. A laundry facility is available for guest use, convenient for extended stays.

Located just a few miles from Slade, you're a short drive from the best hiking, climbing, dining, and local attractions (zip-lining, cave exploring, etc.) at the Red. The cabin is accessed via a gravel road, part of which climbs a steep hill.

Pets are welcome with an additional fee.
Propane for Gas Grill is provided by and monitored by Scenic Cabin Rentals

Spring Getaway

We loved the cabin and it's beautiful views. It was the perfect home base for hiking and exploring the Red River Gorge area. We loved relaxing on the deck and hanging out in the hot tub at the end of the day.

Amazing Stay

Our stay was absolutely everything we wanted. The cabin was secluded but yet we were only a 20 minute drive to anything we needed. The hot tub was great and looking up at the stars at night while in it was perfect. Cant wait to visit again!!

Secluded Cabin

The cabin was beautifully built and decorated. It was spacious and comfortable and I couldn’t have asked for more. I wish we stayed longer.

Cozy cabin

The cabin was cozy. The views were beautiful but the traffic noise was non stop. We enjoyed walks down the driveway and visited the parks and scenic areas. It was great to get away and unwind.

Cute Cabin!

They are not kidding when they say have 4WD, the drive up is really hilly/bumpy. The cabin is super cute, had everything we needed. The second bedroom is in the loft area so there is no closed doors/walls upstairs. Our kids loved the foosball table, roasting smores at the firepit, and.we enjoyed the hottub. You are a short drive to “town” where all the tourist stuff is so that was nice to not have to drive very far. Check in process would be easier if they had a door passcode vs driving to the shop to check in. Thank you!

Closer to the highway than expected

Property is beautiful - it was closer above the highway than expected and there was a lot of vehicle noise. But the cabin itself is beautifully tucked up among the trees with a stunning view. Very well maintained and spotlessly clean. We very much enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed the house and hot tub. A few things to make the next persons trip better - maybe a key pad for the house? Kinda stunk having to return a key 10 mins in the opposite direction. Also, basic kitchen utensils were missing so if anything is needed in particular I would bring them from home.

Short pleasant stay

Only stayed 2 nights but the place was exactly as advertised. Place was kept clean for a cabin. It was great for 2 kids and a dog. My kids loved to hot tub with a view. You could hear some road traffic from below but it wasn't too bad. The downstairs bedroom got pretty warm at night, a ceiling fan would have been nice. Overall it was a great property that we enjoyed.

Excellent cabin and location.

The Summit was a wonderful location, the Two Dog Lodge was a nice little cabin with a great view. Perfect for a family and pets. Our only complaint was small, couldnt figure out drain to take a bath. The road will eventually need more work to get to the cabin, but id recommend it to anyone with a 4 wheel drive, though I was able to get our front wheel drive car up there. Great view all around, and we enjoyed our walks up and down The Summit.

Two dogs

Cabin was wonderful, secluded and peaceful. Traffic noise from the highway was noticeable but we turned some music on low and it was not a problem! Only thing I would recommend is better toilet paper ( I’m a little particular about that hahaha) and maybe replacing the wicker chairs on the back patio the arms were worn and not comfortable on my skin! Overall fantastic stay and thanks for sharing your place with us!!

The access road to this property is not much better than a stream bed! The condition was awful. It took everything our 4wheel drive had to get up it. I doubt that a car would make it. They should change the recommendation to “an all wheel drive is necessary to access this property”. The cabin was nice except for the ceiling peeling off in the bathroom. Also there is no dresser or closet or hooks in the bedroom and thus no place to put your clothes. We had to put our luggage in the living room to keep it off the floor.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It had plenty of room for the two of us and our dogs. Inside cabin is pretty nice with just a few things needing a little TLC. Hot tub was clean and worked well after a day exploring. Only gripes we had were, the kitchen is missing a few essentials to make or bake a meal but we were able to improvise. Has enough dinnerware though. The back view, while still nice and secluded, wasn't as open of a view as I expected. Which was one of the main reason we booked here. Winter/End of fall should be nice for that. The back porch was nice though, just watch your head. The check in/out process could be brought to modern times with a lockbox or key code. Check In was fine as we arrived after office closed so just had to grab our key from the box outside. We checked out at 11 on a Sunday and the coffee shop (Where the office is) was very busy so the parking lot was a nightmare to move around because of the tight parking that's off of a can be busy street. The drive up to the cabin is a packed gravel road with some potholes that wasn't as bad as some said. You DO need 4WD/AWD still though as it has a few steep parts that require it. Also the driveway to the cabin doesn't have room to turn around so you gotta do a little back and forth till you're able to back down to the actual cabin from the upper landing and then pull out forward. We would book again though if we make another trip to the RRG.

Secluded

Pros: rustic cabin, hot tub, spacious, foosball table Cons: check in location is 15 minutes from the cabin. Key pad entry would be more convenient. Depending on which direction you are arriving and departing from you are back peddling to get and return the key. Shower / tub doesn’t drain very well. They only supply 1 tiny towel for doing the dishes. Bath towels need to be updated, originally were white now they are tinted brown

Two Dog Cabin was an acceptable stay but lacked cleanliness and general maintenance of the property. The cabin was questionably surfaced clean but we noticed crumbs on lower shelves of island, grime and dead bugs on refrigerator top, and dust and crumbs under the island and dining table. We found small red pieces of a chewed measuring cup in the back of kitchen drawer. From a mouse I suspect? Under the kitchen sink a sign read “fire extinguisher” yet none was present. A nail protruded at the top of the stairs which could easily cause an injury. We covered it with bathroom rug. The dvd player did not work upon arrival although a replacement was given upon my reaching out. There was non existent water pressure in the bathroom sink. No hair dryer was found even though it was listed as an amenity. The exterior had trash on the grounds including broken glass. Left over metal from the cabin laid crumpled in the fire pit and under the back deck which was a hazard. The gas grill was dirty and took 10 minutes to fully ignite all the burners. The stand had mice dropping on it. The strand of lights on the back deck had 23 bulbs either missing or burnt out which is another safety issue. Key retrieving and drop off was inconvenient. It was a four mile drive in the opposite direction of our travel. We booked Two Dog because it offered privacy and delivered on that but the cleaning between guests and general maintenance needs much improvement.

Great little cabin!

Loved this cabin. The driveway can be quite a beast to get up, so the 4 wheel drive required is definitely accurate. The cabin was super clean on arrival. There were some damages, nothing major, but I addressed with management immediately and they handled it very professionally. Amazing view from the hot tub. Needs a guestbook!!

Fun stay

We spent 3 nights at this property. It was very spacious and in an excellent location. The layout of the rooms was great. Loved the kitchen and washer and dryer. It could easily get 5 stars if the outside of the property was cleaned up! Piles of junk were on both sides of the house, and paint cans and junk were piled up in the corner of the bathroom. Definitely took away from the relaxing atmosphere! The rocking chair was broken on the front porch and we would have appreciated dead bolts on the doors. Overall, a nice stay that could be an excellent stay with a Saturday of clean up!
