Lovely home built into a 19th century barn placed on a secluded hill with gorgeous mountain views and a heated pool. The house can be experienced from the interior as well, in the double height living space with the original exposed wooden beams, a fireplace, dining area and modern, well-appointed open kitchen. From the living room, big windows provide views on the adjacent terrace and, behind it, Mt. Everett. On the ground floor there is an additional breakfast nook, the master bedroom (air-conditioned) and a bathroom with a shower. On the second floor one can find two bedrooms with ceiling fans (one with a queen, one with a double bed) that share a bathroom with a shower. In addition, there is a TV and gaming room which opens to the main space. The house is fully furnished in mid-century modern style, with a few pieces of contemporary design mixed in.

The house and its adjacent mud room and garage are situated in an open area surrounded by magnificent and cooling trees of the Berkshire’s woods. The pool area is open and private, surrounded by a lawn and trees. With its comfy loungers, it is slightly separated from the house and the west facing terrace with its fire pit, allowing further privacy and a change of scenery. Between the house and the pool area is a wide lawn for a game of volleyball or badminton, with a 16 feet trampoline at its edge under the trees.

The house is ideal for a family who seeks a private retreat in nature with occasional nights out in Great Barrington or visits to historic sites, museums, theatres, or art galleries, and has enough space to invite guests over for lunch, dinner or play. The house is situated at the heart of the Berkshires with 60+ miles of hiking trails, lakes for swimming and kayaking, waterfalls, as well as golfing and skiing.

High speed wireless internet, washer and dryer. Good restaurants and of course the Southfield Store. In winter, AWD is necessary.
