Cozy waterfront cottage 30 minutes from Acadia National Park

Tide Watch is a water front home located on the shores of Kilkenny Cove in Hancock, Maine. The quiet setting is ideally located midway between the Acadia National Park Entrance (30 min) and the scenic Schoonic Peninsula (30 min) but only 10 minutes from restaurants, groceries and shops in Ellsworth. The cottage has three bedrooms and two baths and comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests. All the bedrooms face the water and have abundant windows to enjoy the beautiful views. High speed internet, kayaks and air conditioning are provided for the use of our guests. Tide Watch is a wonderful place to retreat after a day of hiking, shopping, and sight-seeing. You could also spend your days at the cottage kayaking, reading, eagle watching, and enjoying the views and fresh Maine air from the deck or screened-in porch. The options at this location are endless.

The main level of the home, reached by taking a couple of steps up from the driveway, consists of a bedroom, a bathroom, living room, laundry room, dining area and kitchen. The bedroom has a king bed, AC unit, comfortable leather recliner, and a walk-in closet. The fully stocked galley kitchen has quartz counter tops, stainless-steel appliances and a pantry with a lobster pot and additional cooking tools. The living room has a 4k TV, a sectional couch and two comfortable chairs. The chairs swivel so you can face inside for conversation or outside to enjoy the view.

The upper level consists of two spacious bedrooms, a bathroom and a sitting area we call the Alcove. The first bedroom has a king size bed with a seating area. The second bedroom has two queen beds. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans as well as AC units and the double windows provide wonderful water views. The cozy alcove has a leather love seat and a 4k TV. Books and games are also provided if you prefer quieter pursuits.

Outside, there is ample seating on the deck to enjoy the sea breezes and the sounds of nature. There is a gas grill on the deck and a charcoal grill under the deck. The screened porch has two comfortable chairs for reading or enjoying the views and a two-person bistro set for dining. Adirondack Chairs are also provided closer to the water for better viewing of the bird and kayak activity. Four single kayaks and one tandem kayak are provided so guests can enjoy the protected waters of the beautiful cove. There is an island just off shore with a bald eagle’s nest which is perfect for a quick paddle. The more adventurous can paddle further out past Eagle Point to view seals.

Wi-Fi is provided throughout the house and each of the TV's has Roku built in for access to all the streaming services. Netflix and Youtube TV services are provided for when you are tired of all the outdoor splendor the area has to offer.

There are three outdoor security cameras on the property covering the driveway and the backyard. We use these cameras for security and wildlife viewing. There are no cameras located inside the house. Please inquire if you have concerns or would like to know more.
