The Guest Cottage in Lake City

Hi Walter, I appreciate you taking the time to leave a review, but I do need to correct several statements that are simply not accurate. Our listing does not advertise a patio, outdoor furniture, or a television — none of these are listed in the amenities or shown in the photos. We make every effort to represent the space exactly as it is so guests know what to expect before booking. When asked about a TV, I explained that we don’t have one because most guests come to enjoy the peaceful mountain setting — not because we’re trying to limit anyone’s experience. I understand that may not have suited your preferences, but it was communicated clearly in the listing. The bed and sofa are both clean, newer, and in good condition. Describing them as “crunching plastic” is inaccurate and misleading. Honest feedback helps us improve; inaccurate statements do not. We take pride in being transparent with our guests and providing exactly what’s described. We do a thorough cleaning between guests, but I’ll have the shower re-checked and address the spiders and trash situation as well. For clarification, the cabin is advertised as having a kitchenette (not a full kitchen), and all furnishings are shown in the listing photos and description, including the absence of nightstands and a coffee table. We want guests to know exactly what to expect before booking, which is why we make every effort to present the space accurately. The step into the bathroom is pictured in the listing, while the step down into the kitchenette is not as obvious, and we’ll work on making that clearer for future guests. Regarding the heater: during the summer months, when temperatures are in the 90s, we disconnect the stove heater for safety, but it is available for use in the colder seasons. We appreciate your comments and will continue working to make the cabin as comfortable as possible for future visitors.
