Wapiti Valley Wayfarer- family mountain retreat in Wapiti

Welcome to Wapiti Valley Wayfarer! This beautiful home is located in the heart of Wapiti Valley with gorgeous 360-degree views. The main house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The third bedroom and bathroom are found in the apartment above the garage. The main house and apartment are rented together which can be perfect for travelling with extended family or friends. Winter & Spring Travel Notice: Cody offers plenty to enjoy year-round! Please note that Yellowstone's East Entrance and most park roads are closed to regular vehicle traffic from November 1, 2025 through May 1, 2026. During winter (December 15–mid-March, weather permitting), access is available only by guided snowcoach or snowmobile tours.

The main house features an open living, kitchen, and dining area with beautiful views through the picture windows. Bedroom 1 is located downstairs with a queen bed. Bathroom 1 is also located downstairs and has a shower and a separate soaking tub. Bedroom 2 is located upstairs and has a queen bed. Bathroom 2 is located upstairs and has a shower only, no bathtub. Also, located on the main level is a mud room and a laundry room with a washer and dryer for your convenience.

The apartment that is found above the garage with a separate entrance. The space offers a kitchenette with a fridge, a microwave, and a stove. Perfect for prepping your picnic meals to travel through the park. The apartment holds two queen beds and an additional bathroom with a shower only in this space.

This property offers great outdoor space. You can enjoy gorgeous mountain views on the front covered deck that connects to a side deck area with a table and a grill. You can also experience the big sky and night stars while roasting marshmallows around the outdoor firepit. An attached 2-car garage for parking your vehicles. The house was beautiful and the location was perfect. The views were stunning and we were less than an hour from all the major attractions. The only negative was the bedding, couch and chair were dated and should be replaced.

Close to Cody AND Yellowstone Entrance

Beautiful and Comfortable Home near Yellowstone Entrance. We arrived very late on the day of check-in, and because of the location we could see so many stars --and the Milky Way. The House and apartment over the garage were amazing and it was just a short (and beautiful) drive to the Yellowstone entrance.

Best stay ever

The house was beautiful, in a great neighborhood with breathtaking views. The apartment above the garage was perfect for our college-age daughter and friends. The location was close to Cody and a short drive to the Yellowstone entrance. We loved it and made some great memories with our friends!

Wapiti Valley House

We were so happy with this house! We were her for 3 nights to explore Yellowstone and the surrounding area. It’s a ways outside of Yellowstone but the area in which it is located is beautiful! The views out of all the windows are incredible. We enjoyed the drive into and out of the park. The drive to Cody is stunning, and the town is great. Our two daughters very much enjoyed the apartment above the garage but the house is spacious enough for all of us to hang out comfortably in the living room/kitchen area of the main house. We also did laundry one evening which was very easy to do. I couldn’t figure out one of the outside trash cans and the owner was very responsive (via text) on a Sunday which I appreciated. This was a great place to stay!

Wapiti Wayfarer is awesome

Beautiful base camp for Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. We enjoyed our stay so much and are recommending the place to anyone we know that wants a great place to stay to visit some great places. The location was great, the house is beautiful, the view is great, and everything is clean and welll stocked Highly recommended!

Wonderful time in Wapati

The house is very spacious, and the views are amazing. The house is clean, well stocked and charming. We even made a fire while we were there. One word of caution— it’s quite a drive from the house to most parts of Yellowstone. It’s about 2-3 hours with Yellowstone traffic. We did really enjoy getting to all eat and spend time together during our stay, so maybe it was worth the drive. The three bathrooms were quite a luxury.

September 2022 Trip to Cody

The house was nice, clean and spacious. The rental company was quick to respond to inquiries and concerns. The location was really good for all locations we wanted to explore. The only reason I could not give 5 stars is because there was no documentation or book on the house, it rules, what is required, how to use some of the amenities as well as points of interest which would have been helpful. Beautiful Home

The home was very clean and had a well-stocked kitchen. It is a little bit of a drive to Yellowstone, but the drive is gorgeous. You feel like you are already in Yellowstone when you are driving to it. I had to reach out to the owner with a question while we were there and I received a quick response, even though it was after business hours. We loved our stay here.

Amazing Place to Stay!!

We enjoyed our stay at this property!! Everything was as describe and the check in process was very easy. The views were amazing and the house was very clean. It was the perfect place for us while visiting Yellowstone National Park just 30 minutes from East Entrance. Would definitely stay here again!!

Overall the house was very nice. The mattresses are not in great shape. Blinds or darker curtains in downstairs bedroom would be a plus.The kitchen could use smaller cutting boards.

Great base for exploring Yellowstone

We had a great time here. Very well equipped house on the road to Yellowstone, saves almost an hour a day driving compared to staying in Cody. Stock up on major groceries in Cody, there is a gas station with some basic groceries, firewood, etc about a half mile from the property. Indoors is spacious and very comfortable, outdoors is quiet with gorgeous views. Loved the fire pit.

Amazing mountain views, quiet and great location!

The place was very clean and spacious. The view from all around the house was something special! Nice location between Cody and Yellowstone East entrance. We drove thru Cody to see Lamar valley via Yellowstone's North Entrance. Since we have young kids with us we did not use the separate garage suite and only stayed at the main house but this setup will work for multiple families who want privacy.
