The space:
We are excited to share The Hideaway with you! We are 45ish minutes from South Padre Island so you can easily go spend the day at the beach and come home to quiet fishing and grilling. This house is unique because there are two full kitchens, two full living areas, basically two homes in one. We know that you will come to love it as much as we do.

Guest access:

Games, books, cable TV, gas grill, charcoal grill, boat lift, fishing station--

World Birding Center is around the corner, but honestly you can sit on one of the decks and watch the hummingbirds, the green and Ringed Kingfishers, and green jays right from the comfort of your pjs and coffee.

Take your boat from our boat lift and in less than 10 minutes you will be fishing at Laguna Madre for tarpen, snook, redfish, and trout.

Interaction with guests:

I do have a property manager close by to help with anything that may come up and I am readily available by phone.

The neighborhood:

The neighborhood is quiet and private.

2 Security cameras located in the front of the house and 1 Security camera in each walkway to backyard, and 1 Security camera in the back yard.

Great stay. Lots of space for a family getaway. Beautiful outdoor area. Only thing that bothered me was the fishing light wasnt as strong as the others around us.

Nice place

Very nice place 2 living areas and 2 kitchens lots of space nice well-kept pier and dock, fishing could have been better, but we still had a great time.

A great place to relax

There was plenty of room, and the fishing was good. We saw orioles and green jays while having our morning coffee, as well as the usual water birds. A truly relaxing time was had by all.

Beautiful home!

Home was very clean and spacious. Beds were really comfy and essentials were provided as well. There were beautiful views while fishing on the deck. Barbecue pits were also provided, so that was a big plus for my dad. Will definitely be staying here again.

First time renter

My family and I had a fabulous time!! It was a great place to spend with my family and sons before they head off to college. The home and view were beautiful!! It had everything we needed and was very clean and welcoming!! Highly recommend this property

Bday getaway

This was the perfect weekend getaway home for our family. It was very clean and spacious. It had plenty of linens and cookware upstairs and downstairs. The pier had a cleaning station and plenty of space to fish. We would definitely stay again⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall a nice stay

Overall, we enjoyed our time at this property. The only issues we ran across were there were not enough linens provided, even though that was stated in the listing, the fire alarm batteries were running low so they constantly beeped and although we told the property manager, nothing was ever done about it, and the television would not connect to the device they had available. The tv part was not as much of a concern, but would have been nice to use for when the kids needed to take a break!

missing amenities

9 Men.....2 coffee pots -no coffee maker , 2 towels downstairs, 1 upstairs, no extra linens, towels, pillows, or covers.....1st bedroom on left has a broken headboard...junk. Downstairs shower handle falls off when turned, it's been that way for a while it seems. No soap or shampoo....Very little pots, pans, and cookware.... My whole crew left a day early...will not return....very dissapointed

Thouroughly enjoyed our stay

It was a really quick Thanksgiving weekend, but our stay at 'The Hideaway' was truly enjoyable. The weather didn't completely cooperate, but that didn't slow down the fishin'. My grandson's had a great time fishing with their great-uncles, actually caught a few. The house was roomy and the extra kitchen upstairs an added plus. I would definitely recommend this place for a great, quiet getaway.

Great spot

Not all that clean, Bugs all over the kitchen, filed an insurance claim for dirty dishes (had to wash em before we used em) on top of the $250 cleanup fee. Didn't know it but I apparently spilt a tablespoon of coffee, resulting in an 800 new mattress insurance claim too. Great access to water tho

Nice home for large family gatherings

The inside of the home was very clean and spacious.. kitchen needed more organization as far as appliances and utensils. outside needed to be cleaned of cobwebs all over lights and outside ceiling fans. Some lights outside did not work. Fishing pier was great. Downside is one area would constantly get fishing lines stuck so everyone had to avoid fishing to the right. Overall it was a pleasant experience and would rent again. Highly recommend for large families

We really enjoyed our stay! It's pretty far away from the beach, but it worked out fine for our group! Clean property, nice owner. Very comfortable beds!
