The condo is in great condition. It was so relaxing to sit on the Lanai and watch turtles and whales (bring your binoculars! ) and listen to the ocean. The grounds are beautiful on the ocean-facing side of the property. There were plenty of beach chairs, beach towels, and even a couple of boogie boards. The kitchen was well-equipped basic dishes and cookware in great condition. The condo was clean, and the a/c was running when we arrived on a very warm day. The furniture is comfortable.We received our check-in instructions a few days ahead. Questions were answered promptly and politely. Check-out requirements were very easy.Things you should know before you go:The condo is steps from the ocean, but it's not a wide sandy beach. It's rocky, and the sand comes and goes with the waves. Some pictures show a small beach you can step down to. When we were there in February 2026, there was a short but steep climb down to sand when we arrived. By the time we left there was no sand at all as a stormy ocean had carried it away. There are lovely sandy beaches a short drive away. The parking spaces are *very* small, and we had rented a large-ish vehicle. There was always parking available, but it was often difficult to maneuver into. All in all, we had a lovely stay even during a big storm, and we look forward to returning. We would totally stay in the same condo.

Ocean at your lanai

Enjoyed our stay. Centrally located. Quiet. Loved having the ocean so close that we could see turtles and even got to enjoy the small sandy beach for about a week.

Amazing place

The condo was amazing. Clean, easy to check in and out and basic necessities to get you through are there. Having the walkout was perfect to access the beach and watching the turtles swim by was nothing short of amazing. I would definitely book here again!

waves rock you to sleep at night!

This was our 2nd time at Kuleana Resorts and by far the best. We loved being so close to the ocean and footsteps from the turtles. We saw 3 whales during the first week here. Looking forward to returning next year. Thanks Cimi

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are NOT resort people, we like the freedom to be able to cook for ourselves. Our unit, in my opinion, was the BEST on the property. Literally feet from the beach and a super short walk to the pool. The actual location is close enough to local shops for a walk to coffee every morning, but still far enough away from things that it's very quiet. Parking is plentiful and safe. Gorgeous sunsets!

Best Condo for seeing Sea Turtles and Whale watching

Tiki torches are lit every evening.

It’s truly amazing to be able to go swimming, snorkeling right out your door. We loved to watch the paddle boarders. We also enjoyed being able to swim in the pool every afternoon and meet wonderful people. My husband’s favorite place to grill in the world in the “common” area watching the sunset, whales and having conversation with others. We are so appreciative to be able to stay. Mahalo.

Fantastic location for seeing Whales & Sea Turtles

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely love staying at Kuleana. Our favorite place to sit is out on the Lanai listening to the waves 50 feet away. Watching for whales breach and green sea turtles pop there heads out of the water and them come out on the beach in the afternoon to sun themselves. We love swimming and snorkeling in the ocean as well as enjoy swimming in the husband loves grilling Maui Maui ( purchased from Safeway) while watching the sunset and talking with the other grillers. As the sun sets, we enjoyed listening to a few people playing on the conch shells. We appreciated the ambience of the tiki torches being lit each evening.The 1 bedroom condo is neatly furnished and very comfortable.We absolutely love staying in Paradise.

On the Water in Maui

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the condo and don't think any unit there would have given us a better view with a more convenient few steps to the ocean! The pool was also very close by and other outdoor showers. The folks at Epic were super, especially Nadia and Aimyee. Had a few things we had to call about, no parking pass left in the unit and the screen door on the back patio would not lock. We found the condo to hava everything we needed for the beach and it was pretty clean except for the floors, I think the housekeeper had been sweeping them and not mopped them in a while. We hope to return this winter to see the whales.

Some good, some bad

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Good: The price of this unit is hard to beat, the view is incredible, unit is nicely updated, very friendly community.The Bad: not the best location - although it's right on the beach the waters are rough and it is tiny (we found ourselves making the 5 min drive up to Napili Bay every day), no in-unit laundry, tiny parking spaces, shower is built for people under 5ft tall, woke up with bug-bites and found small bugs in the bedroom, wi-fi does not reach the bedroom.Overall: this is a comfortable unit if you don't plan on spending much time in/near it. Being able to enjoy the sunset right off the lanai is the best part about this property.

Maui Wowie at Kuhleana

Once we opened the door to our unit our eyes locked in on the view of the ocean framed by green grass and palm tree. “Aloha, we are in paradise!” There were turtles swimming in the beach just steps from our lanai ! And we have never seen so many whales from our unit! The sandy beach just steps away from our unit comes and goes with the tide, but the water was warm and this was a great place to swim or snorkel or paddle board! The unit is well appointed. The mattress is very soft. The condos have a heated pool, shuffle board and tikis. At sunset there is the blowing of the conch shells. So fun, we are already talking about coming back! I wish I could say something to disuade you from renting this unit cuz I don’t want it to be booked up and not available for our next visit! Lol! Thank you for renting us this great place! Can’t wait to come back!

We love this ground floor direct ocean front condo too! This newly furnished 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom condo has upgrades throughout allowing you to relax in luxury and high end comfort. The views from this unit is direct ocean front and is perfectly located on the property, just steps away from the ocean's shoreline, BBQ area and heated swimming pool. We hope that you were able to capture many magical Maui sunsets from the private lanai. During whale season, relax and enjoy front row seating to the whales breaching and playing and the daily visit from the turtles are an added bonus. The location of the Resort is just a short distance to world famous Kaanapali Beach, Napili Bay, and a short drive to Lahaina Town and Front Street. We hope that you created lots of memories during your time with us here in beautiful Maui. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location a key factor to picking this unit. Oceanfront and close to the area of Maui we had chose to explore. Wind and rains disrupted a lot of our water activities as wave action was intense. Did see that turtles are plentiful and easy to spot from shore. Beach at north end of property was gone after storm but seemed to go to south end of property! Unit was smaller than those we had stayed at in the past. Missed a washer/dryer unit and places to hang towels, swimsuits, and wet gear. I think there was only one towel rack. We didn't need the air conditioner much which is good as the cycling of pump was a noisy distraction. Single pane windows in bedroom let street noise in all hours. Interrupted sleep most nights. TV was nice but not it wasn't connected to internet which limited us to the most basic cable programs. Being able to connect to my Amazon, Netflix, or other accounts would have been a treat.

Aloha Daniel, Thank you for the feedback. Winter weather can definitely be unpredictable, but we're happy you got to see lots of turtles. Our listing states that a laundry facility is on property, but not in-unit and this condo is the standard 1 bedroom size for the Kuleana property. All of our TVs are connected to Wifi with SmartTV capabilities for Netflix, Hulu, etc. A simple phone call or email and we could have sent someone out to assist you with the TV right away. Next time, please don't hesitate to reach out with any issues. We strive to create the most comfortable and relaxing vacation experiences for our guests. Wonderful peaceful quiet and beautiful

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condos are right on the beach - very very quiet and peaceful. This is not a "resort" so for those that want to listen to the ocean and not TV or music or a band or other noisy quests - this is your destination. If you want that please go to one of the high rise resorts. Pros: quiet peaceful number one comment. Walking distance (10-15 min) to food shopping, ABC, farmers market (awesome) and a town beach for more placid water. Turtles turtles everywhere. Laundry facilities on site (coin). Very nice pool, tennis courts. Recycling bins. Kitchenette is well stocked (dishes et al) and has coffee tea and some spices. Beach towels chairs and umbrella and noodles! Bed was comfortable and AC not needed if you left bedroom window and sliding glass open for cross breeze. Watching the sun rise reflected on Lanai, then watching the sun set directly in front of you was absolute perfection. Cons: Kitchen is dated but geesh - everything works so buck up. You don't need high end appliances to make coffee and chill your beer. Use the ice cube trays - they work well. Only real comment is there has been erosion to the beach as with all beaches everywhere in the world. Low tide will give you a apron of sand to relax on. Snorkeling is good but you will be better going to more protected coves. Not a big deal but temper your expectations and stay somewhere else if you want a pure calm sandy beach. You'll pay up for it.

Kuleana stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The vacation rental was just as described. I’ve stayed at Kuleana before in a different unit and it is a gem. A few things I would have liked are some ocean toys, such as beach chairs and snorkeling gear, which it lacked. It was also a bit of a hike to the bbq. My only negative experience was with the on-site property manager. I parked in front of one of the concrete tire barriers (which were not in alignment with the painted stripes), which seemed logical enough, and received a notice on my car the next morning stating “you will be fined” for not parking between the painted white lines. Since the parking was only about 1/3 full, I wasn’t sure why this even mattered. I did bring this up with him, stating that if you made it clearer to park between the white lines, vs. in front of the concrete tire barriers, that guests would likely comply. I also stated that the way he worded his notice did not make me feel very welcome as a guest, as the word please, or anything like that wasn’t used. A very authoritarian worded notice taped to the drivers side window that looked like a ticket. All he did was give me a weird look, with no reply or acknowledgement. I re-parked my car, and the next morning I received a “second warning” to park between the white stripes. This was apparently because one of my car tires was actually touching one of the white strips. Admittedly it was, but there were no cars within 20 spaces from me. He did this to make a point since I had brought up that I didn’t appreciate the previous warning that I would be fined. Yes this is frivolous, but when you’re on vacation, the last thing you want is some property manager harassing you apparently because they have nothing better to do with their time. One would expect better hospitality. Not at all what we experienced from folks during the rest of our stay on Maui, where they were happy to see us support the local economy. As fo

Aloha Joe, I am truly sorry that you experienced anything less than aloha. Usually our guests mention how wonderful and helpful Ty is when they run into him on property. Parking does need to be between the painted lines and has nothing to do with the concrete strips that prevent vehicles from going into the bushes. Although the parking lot may have not been full at the time you parked, the parking lot does fill up and security does not have any idea how long a car will be in the space.
