Book your family getaway at this charming Lakefront Home on Heaton Lake! Enjoy swimming, fishing! Peaceful setting with a large back yard for games. Only 7 minutes from great food and shopping in Elkhart. Close to the Toll Road and 30 Minutes from the Notre Dame Stadium. Excellent 1 Gbps Frontier Wifi. This is a very quiet neighborhood, No parties or events or fireworks and there is a Zero noise policy after 9 PM.
The water is less than 24" deep at the seawall and has a sand bottom that is great for swimming. There are 2 adult kayaks, 2 kids Kayaks, Paddleboat, and life jackets for adults and kids that you are welcome to use.There is firewood behind the shed for a campfire.

Perfect lake house for a geoup

We had a small retreat here. It was a perfect setup for a small group! Loved the lake and the boats we had access to. I would definitely rent here again.

Such a peaceful place!

Our family of 5 loved our stay here. The lake property was so quiet and clean. We loved the house layout and enjoyed the kayaks so much! It was perfect for our family!

Swim Moms and girls

We were in Elkhart for a Swim Championship being held at the Aquatics Center. The house was a 12minute drive. We had 3 moms and 4 teenage girls (ages 15 - 18). The house really has 2 usable bathrooms. The layout was great - the teenagers had their own space upstairs until we went to sleep then a mom used the double bed up there. The kitchen island and table were great places for the girls to gather and eat. The kitchen had great supplies. Overall the girls got more rest as we made meals there and saved a lot of money. We will definitely look to rent there again. We did not have use for the lake access but if it had been warmer it would have been great to swim and build a fire in the firepit.

Girl’s weekend

We had 11 women for 2 nights and Lakeshore Cottage was a great place. Anna was very responsive to any questions I had leading up to and during our stay. The house was really nice, the bunk room upstairs is cute and was even fine for us adults. I would say though that the stairs are narrow and a bit slippery so an added railing would be beneficial. The yard is large with plenty of chairs and places to hang out. Easy access to the waterfront. The water is very shallow right at the wall and even quite far out. The lake bottom was pretty mucky and full of seaweed, so not great for swimming, but in boats or rafts it’s great. The lake is small and quiet, only a few hours of allowed wake time in the afternoons. Overall I would definitely recommend Anna’s property!

ND Football Weekend

We had 3 couples stay and there was plenty of space for us. This is a very convenient location, less than two miles from the Indiana Toll road. It takes roughly 30 minutes to get to the ND campus via the Toll road. Anna was gracious and provided us with a cooler and camp chairs to use for tailgating. One of our party members took an early morning kayak on the lake Sunday and enjoyed that. We'd stay again next time we're in town for a football game.

Girls weekend

Relaxing weekend away. Had a great time sitting down by the lake during the day and playing games inside in the evening. There was a neat nature trail (boot lake) about 10 minutes away that was beautiful to explore one morning as well. Only complaint would be the stairs were a little narrow/slippery but we just stayed on the main floor! Anna was great and quick to respond with any questions we did have!

Great experience!

We had a great time. Just the right amount of room for us (7adults and 2 kids). While the adults didn’t have much luck fishing the kids had a ball catching little fish! Enjoyed the paddle boat,kayaks, and small fishing boat. The grandkids (ages 4 and 6) kayaked for the first time. We also enjoyed the local restaurants and ease of grocery shopping. Would stay there again!

Wonderful stay

We truly enjoyed the lake house over the Memorial weekend. The house is very clean, spacious, nicely updated, comfortable and has everything you may need. We had canoes, a paddleboat, a motorboat for fishing and a kayak to use which was great. My son very much enjoyed the swing in the yard, we loved the dedicated space for making s’mores and just sit by the fire with ample amount of firewood. Pellet grill worked well as well. The lake is small and shallow but very clean and we loved using the water pad provided. Great location, close to Walmart and Kroger, a couple of breweries nearby and a small waterpark on the opposite side of the lake. Even though the water park was not open yet, the sandy beach and proximity to it is certainly a big plus for families with kids. The water has a sulfur smell as is expected in lake house areas, we used filtered water from the fridge for cooking. All in all we had a great time and will be back!

Enjoyed our stay

We had an amazing time staying at this property . We stayed here for a youth conference and everything was just so perfect for our group . We immediately felt like we were at home :) very large outdoor area perfect for family time and gathering together
