Recientemente renovado, decorado con buen gusto, amplio 1 dormitorio ubicado en el corazón del Upper West Side en una calle tranquila. Se compone de 2 zonas de dormitorio con una cama queen size, sofá cama y futón en el salón y un colchón de aire opcional. Apartamento incluye cocina moderna con encimeras de granito y un baño con jacuzzi. También cuenta con un hermoso balcón de la sala de estar. El apartamento cuenta con a / a, 2 TV, VCR, servicio de cable, Internet, secador de pelo, walk-in closets, lavandería en el edificio. Es en el segundo Fl (sin ascensor), a 700 pies cuadrados con techos de 12 pies. Se encuentra a 100 pies de CPW, cerca de Museo de Historia Natural. Rodeado de muchos famosos restaurantes y tiendas (Zabars) ya poca distancia de renombre mundial edificio Dakota y muchos otros lugares de interés. Phenomenal Location!

Five+ stars for location, size, balcony and high ceilings. Nice street in wonderful neighborhood with great restaurants and stores nearby. This apartment is literally less than a minute walk to Central Park and a subway station. Within minutes you can walk to all the big museums. Hosts were easy to reach and prompt with their responses.

Great location; apartment could be improved

This property was hard to rate. The location is exceptional - less than 1 block to Central Park, the subway, and Natural History Museum. The apartment is at the back of the building, so it was very quiet and we heard no street noise at all. It is also quite spacious and the a/c worked well. But...it could have been cleaner. Nothing filthy but just needs a thorough scrub. The cupboards are disorganized and filled with junk. The owner wasn't particularly communicative - I had to ask about 4 times to get the location of the apartment. There was no folder of instructions or helpful hints in the apartment. The bed was soft. So, nothing outrageously wrong but probably enough to discourage me from booking here again. It's really a shame because with a bit more effort this place could be amazing.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We take every review to heart in order to maintain our five star rating. Consequently we apologize for taking a few hours to respond but we were traveling with limited access to email. However we only received 2 emails opposed to the 4 aforementioned emails re the location and this was in addition to several phone calls regarding this matter. We do recall making special arrangements to accommodate your late check in (after 11PM) due to flight delays. We are especially surprised to hear that you felt that the apartment "could have been cleaner" since you never mentioned this during our phone conversation the day after your arrival and only complemented everything. This could have been easily and immediately rectified. We have been using the same cleaning company for several years and this is a first complaint. We acknowledge that in order to accommodate our tenants, we have a variety of items - all types of spices, cooking supplies and utensils, toys, books, pack-and-play, etc but these are usually appreciated by all. The apartment has a folder with apartment specific information that also includes menus, maps, NYC travel guides and other pertinent NYC information. In addition there is always someone available to answer your questions since either myself, my wife or building manager are available 24/7. As far as the bed, to ensure comfort, every bed has memory foam cover which could be easily removed. Again, a simple phone call could have improved the situation.

Amazing, location, OK apartment

As others have noted, the location is fantastic and super convenient. The apartment is spacious with high ceilings and exposed-brick walls. I enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. The bed is reasonably comfortable, and the AC works well. The décor is unattractive and cluttered. The kitchen is functional (hot and cold water are reversed). The tub has a handheld shower head that is too high up, making it difficult to reach/use. The water was hot with adequate pressure. I didn't try to use the coin laundry in the building; there is a wash-and-fold down the block. The owners were responsive during my stay and accommodated my request to arrive early. That said, I experienced some issues. I was asked on two occasions when I would be out so they could “show” the apartment. I have never been asked this in a short-term rental, despite the owners’ insistence it is “standard in NYC.” A VRBO rep advised me that showings are not permitted unless it’s disclosed in the property listing. I hope the owners will update it. When I arrived, there was a broken dining room chair on the living room floor, the freezer was full of food, and worst, there was an extremely moldy soiled filter that must have been in the drip coffee maker for weeks. The items were removed and at my request the coffee maker was replaced. Later I discovered a dead mouse in a trap beside the refrigerator, which was removed later the same day when I reported it. I understand that it’s an older building and that mice and other pests can be an issue, but the place was not particularly clean (even aside from the moldy coffee filter). Despite the feedback in earlier reviews, there was only one set of sheets, one hand towel, two dish towels, and no bath mat. They were provided promptly when requested. There were few staples: no tin foil/cling film, spices, hand or bath soap, napkins, scissors, etc. Many of the nonstick pans were scratched up to the point where I did not feel safe using them. Overall, the owners did the bare minimum rather than ensuring a welcoming or pleasant stay. It’s a shame because the apartment could be fabulous.

We take reviews seriously since we do our best to accommodate our guests. However sometimes we get guests that expect hotel service from an extended stay residence and they’re very hard to please. In this case, we’re challenged several time every almost every day. Since we need to rent the apt to future guests, some want to view it ahead of time and NYC law allows for us to enter the apt with a prior notice. We never ask Karen not to be in the apt, we just asked her when is it convenient for her so we can show it around her schedule. In 15 years of renting, Karen was the first one to complain about this. The apt is advertised correctly on VRBO , so she should not have been surprised by the decor. Since the cleaning girl rushed to accommodate the early check in, she forgot to take out the coffee filter. So even though we just had to clean that area, Karen insisted on a brand new coffee pot, which we accommodated. The hot and cold water are not reversed- it is one handle system. Since Karen requested to check in very early, some of the linens and towels were still in the dryer, when she asked we deliver it to her within minutes. each time she called we resolved it within an hour . We don’t provide foil, Saran wrap, spices, etc since people come to stay for a long time. As far as the mouse- we have an exterminator servicing the building on regular basis. Unfortunately, NYC recently had a rodent problem and sometime they get into the building. This was the only time it happened during her 30 day stay . All the issues she expressing could have been resolved immediately like all the other issues she had. Again we accommodated her request for very early arrival and expressed to her that the apt might no be completely ready, but we’ll address any issue she has after check in. Her main concern was to be able to check in very early in the morning so we feel that this review is not a fair. Since all the issues were resolved quickly, it shouldn’t be impacting the review. As you can see we get 5 stars from most guests and have a lot of return guests.

Could be perfect for many.

Here’s OUR list of “pros and cons” as an energetic couple, mid-seventies, having lived in Manhattan for over twenty years: First, our pros: 1. As others have written, the location is ideal from the perspective of transportation, safety, and access to restaurants, museums and other attractions. 2. The block is part of a true neighborhood and felt safe. 3. The apartment is quiet and quite roomy. It’s perfect for two, and has “all the basics.” We appreciated that everything worked. We were there during some chilly weather this month but the flat got quite toasty and comfortable. 4. The balcony off the LR overlooks well-maintained garden areas and must be terrific in milder weather. 5. The flat seems to have been remodeled and decorated with some thought some time ago. For the few issues that arose, the managers responded promptly. 6. The flat is exactly as described. No more, no less. Management of the unit (we don’t know who owns the apartment) was easily accessed and responsive. Then, our cons: 1. Again, as others have written, the furnishings show some wear. Itt did seem to us as though the flat had been vacant for some time prior to our being there. 2. Providing only one set of sheets, no bath-mat and only very-basic cable(no TCM) contributed to the minimal feeling of an otherwise nice apartment. The few issues we had were minor and quickly addressed, but really should not have been issues in the first place. 3. The internet connection/speed varied greatly. We were able to connect our ROKU and stream but sometimes not. This may be an issue with the provider (Spectrum) and nothing the apartment owners or unit management may be able to address themselves. 4. The building is a brownstone with about thirty stair-steps from the street to the flat—a consideration for those that have some mobility or other issues. While it appeared some ‘updating’ was being intended for the lobby the cosmetics of the building left something to be desired. Again, this can be addressed if the building-owners wish to. Bottom line: Looking for “luxe?” Then this unit is not for you. That said, the location of this apartment is terrific, the area felt safe, and the unit-managers were accessible and responsive. With attention to the building’s cosmetics and making the unit’s fittings more welcoming and complete, the apartment could be ideal and not just above average.

First we are saddened that the accommodations didn’t meet your expectations. You wrote that you agreed that the description of the apt is accurate. We never claimed to be a luxury accommodation. When you have a high expectations, you should be prepared to pay a lot more. Don’t expect the Ritz Carlton level to be in a walk up brownstone. To the issues you mentioned WIFI :We use the only available WIFI company in our area. Sometimes there are issues with the service and we always address it ASAP. TV: we offered a TV cable package that is above standard . Our guest are welcome to use their Netflix or any other subscription service. For long stays, we are able to adjust the channels at extra cost to the renters but this was never asked for by this renter. We are here to address any issue quickly. If you were missing linens (or anything), you should have let us know. We are committed to quick response time and Always ask I guess to contact us with any requests. As you agreed, all your requests were addressed quickly, unfortunately missing linens were never mentioned by you.

Excellent location but ….

We rented this apartment for a month. The location is terrific. Less than half a block to Central Park, a block from a subway station, and a block from Columbus Ave with loads of restaurants. The apartment itself is fine, comfortable bed, but not Covid clean. On check-in, no kitchen towels, 1 face cloth, no bathroom hand towels. Saw the owner/manager (?) the second day. Kitchen towels and hand towels remedied that day but it took a WEEK to get face cloths! Whoever runs the building is a pack rat. Paint cans and interior building stuff in the lobby the entire month we were there. Going to the basement to do laundry is a hazard due to stuff on stairway and in the basement. Lobby and stairs could use a good cleaning — dirt in corners/wall edges. Stairs from sidewalk to entrance need a good cleaning too. Same with garbage can area. Owners/managers should compare the building’s entrance to the other brownstones on the street — all clean, most with lovely flowers and plants. Half way through the month I wanted the apartment cleaned and would, of course, pay for that. The owner/manager said it would take 5 hours. I said we didn’t need a Covid cleaning. Five house to clean a one bedroom 700 sf apartment? Really??? If location is all that matters, this is a great rental. But there are lots of better, well- taken care of vacation rentals on the upper west side. We would never rent in this building again.

Nice place and efficient manager

We have been staying in New York three times a year for 3 weeks or a month for just over 10 years with a hiatus due to Corona. The apartment is for us ideally located near central Park ... and the residence of our children. We appreciated the responsiveness of Renata who very quickly remedied the problems encountered when we arrived: A necessary cleaning and the non-functioning of the noisy heating, ,as in certain brownstones, of the building. Complementary appliances and air conditioning have very well remedied this inconvenience. Review Location: perfect proximity to metro and central park but also shops Equipment: Very well equipped kitchen with everything you need: Stove, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher. A small lack: only three glasses and three champagne flutes. Even for two people it's few Pleasant apartment with balcony and view of the gardens. Some points deserve renovation (chairs) There were only two of us, the apartment is offered for six, I don't think six can stay for so long. The description should be modified on certain points: There is a bathtub with jacuzzi but this one does not work (it is not in fact installed) and you can in fact only take showers as the bathtub does not have a drain closing. We have the feeling that everything is done to make things right... To be seen later

A great option for a short stay in NYC

This is a lovely apartment in a very convenient location. It is comfortable, bright, and accommodating. Great family memories from the Big Apple

Marc was absolutely wonderful, accomodating and helpful to a tee! The apartment was SUPER conveniently located to Central Park and the subway, which gave easy access to the city. The apartment itself is getting a little tired with respect to its finishes but that takes nothing away from our overall experience. Thanks again Marc.

Quiet Historic UWS Experience

I'm reluctant to write too positive a review because I would selfishly like this property to be available the next time we decide to stay, which will be as soon as possible. There really are only positives to report. The flat is exactly as described, a real gem just steps away from Central Park. This property is on the second floor of a historic (1890s) building, so you must be able to ascend a flight of marble stairs. It's remarkably spacious when you consider the square footage. Mark was incredibly helpful and gracious. We can definitely recommend nearby Zabar's if you're stocking up on grocery items for your stay.

Comfortable Accommodations for an Extended Stay

We enjoyed our stay again this year. Stayed in the first floor apartment last year. Older building with nice updates to the apartment and stylish decor. Enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants and the walk across Central Park to access Met and East Side. Safe location with close subway access.

Beware, our experience was 1-star

Yes, 1-star only, beware. Initially we were excited to travel to New York from California for the first time, see Central Park, The Met, Broadway, Statue of Liberty, etc. Most importantly, we wanted a nice, quiet, place to stay that was safe, comfortable, and clean. We were very wrong in choosing here to stay. The owners abandoned us at the airport when we arrived, not responding to any of our texts or phone calls, forcing us to get a hotel the first night because they fell asleep and hadn't given us the access codes to the apartment. This happened despite the fact we had contacted them three times prior to our arrival: the weekend before, the day before, and the day of--and yet we were still left hanging after flying all the way from California. The next day when we finally got into the apartment, we were surprised to find it wasn't very clean--there was grime on the countertops, some hair in the shower, the floor was dirty, etc. The mattress was so old it was like sleeping in a hole that really hurt our backs. But, still determined to have a good time, we were respectful of our hosts and remained positive. Without detailing all of the other negative aspects of our stay, allow me to jump to the end. We left after staying 7 nights. When I asked if the owners would consider giving us a refund from the first night we were told that we had left a day early and therefore violated our contract. This form of response astounded me, as it was entirely false, and particularly because the entire reason for us staying in a hotel the first night was entirely their fault and not ours. I informed the owners that I was shocked at their reply and will, therefore, be giving a very honest review of our stay. I would discourage anyone from staying here. Perhaps in the past the owners kept a clean and tidy apartment, and were kind and accommodating to their guests. However, this is no longer the case. So I say again: Beware.

Unfortunately this guest is just retaliating after reading our negative review on him, based on the condition that they left the apt and now few weeks after our review is making false and fabricated claims. Please read all other reviews to get accurate feedback. We take pride in accommodating each and every one of our guests, as we have done for years, and will continue to do so. Best Mark

location location location (plus, comfort and nature)

couldn't ask for a better location with easy access to metro, grocery stores, nature, and museums. very comfortable lodgings with north orientation and lovely maple trees seeming to spill into the apartment.

Nice for small family

My family and I had a nice time staying here. Mark was always prompt in his reply. Location was perfect for what we wanted to do and see. The neighborhood is very quiet so we did not hear any street noise.

Great days in New York City

Feed and pull-out went perfectly. The apartment is lovingly designed. All equipment and facilities worked well. If there was a problem with the lock on the balcony door, Mark was able to help within a day. With the WLAN you could also work fast enough in a VPN.

Great location, very comfortable apartment, and helpful host.

The beauty and quiet of Central Park are steps away, as is the subway ready to take you to the hustle and bustle of Times Square. You can’t beat the energy and diversity of NYC. This apartment gives to an oasis in its midst with the comforts of home.

Central Park West apartment.

The apartment was very nice and comfortable. The location was perfect, next to Central Park, easy walk to museums and close to subway, stores and restaurants. Everything we hoped It would be.
