Detached casita in gated grounds of hacienda-style property on the west side of Rancho Santa Fe, minutes to Del Mar race track and beaches.
Ample parking.

Our neighborhood
Rancho Santa Fe is a charming and historic village in San Diego’s North County. The village has a green and wonderful restaurants and cafes as well as 50 miles of trails, numerous golf courses and equestrian facilities.

Del Mar racetrack/fair is minutes away as is Fletcher Cove, Cardiff State Beach, Del Mar Dog Beach, San Dieguito Lagoon and San Elijo Lagoon State Marine Conservation Area.

We are ideally placed between LegoLand, San Diego Zoo, Safari Park and SeaWorld - all less than 30 minutes away. Gaslamp Quarter and Balboa Park are just 30 minutes away too.

North County truly has everything; from five-star dining at Addison to authentic Mexican food, craft brew tasting rooms, urban wineries, and seaside bars. Try a hot-air balloon ride, horseback riding in Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve or paddle boarding and kayaking in Carlsbad Lagoon. Bike along the coast, or go sport fishing, whale watching or surfing, from La Jolla to Oceanside.

Other north county attractions include the Flower Fields at Carlsbad and the San Diego Botanic Garden. At the Eastern border of North County, there is Las Vegas style Indian Casino Gaming and great wineries and local breweries.

Out host came out to welcome us, and was attentive to nay needs we might have had. The location was priceless for us. Very easy to get to, quiet, and lovely.We would be delighted to stay here again when our travels take us here.It was also the perfect location for avoiding traffic when going to the biggest event of the year at Del Mar.

We totally enjoyed our stay here! The owners were so friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. Their two horses were a bonus - they were friendly and gentle and we loved seeing them every day! The location is peaceful and quiet and a very short drive to the village of Rancho Santa Fe. The casita was spotless and well stocked with amenities. It was definitely designed with comfort in mind.We couldn't have asked for a better experience and David is such a great host. We look forward to our return visit!

We had a great stay at this casita. The outdoor areas are wonderful. Very clean accommodations. David is always available to answer any questions. A great location if you are showing at Del Mar horse park. We will definitely book again.

The Perfect Spot

We recently had a wonderful week at the casita. It’s conveniently located in San Diego County, making it a great base for exploring the area. Everything in the property was well-maintained, clean, and perfectly suited for a couple or small family. The service was exceptional, and the amenities were top-notch. David, our host, was incredibly helpful and responsive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The casita itself was exactly as described and pictured, and we even got to meet the resident horses and enjoy our morning coffee from the hayloft above the stables.The neighborhood is secluded, quiet, and easily accessible, making it a perfect retreat after a beach day or a day of sightseeing in San Diego. Don’t hesitate. We highly recommend the comfortable casita and David, an exceptional host.

To say that David, our host, is a premier host is an understatement. My wife and i have traveled extensively and stayed with VRBO properties. This is BY FAR the most enjoyable and beautiful place to stay when visting the north of San Diego. David is truly an amazing not just host but person. The Casita is a perfect get away for two people and their beloved doggie. We had Ollee our love Havanese. He enjoyed visiting with Jackson and Annie the two lovely horses on the property.

Beautiful time at the Casita!

I recently stayed at the casita with my family, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the owners who were incredibly kind and welcoming. They took great care of us throughout our 10-day stay and were especially considerate of our little ones and dogs. One of the highlights of our trip was the opportunity to see horses up close. My five and two-year-old sons were absolutely thrilled to be able to interact with these beautiful creatures. It was a unique experience that they will cherish for a long time. What truly made our stay exceptional was the hospitality of the owners. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home and were always available to assist us and provide local recommendations. Their genuine care and attention to detail made a big difference in our overall experience. I am so glad that I chose this property for our stay. It provided us with a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and quality family time. I highly recommend the casita to anyone looking for a getaway in a great location with beautiful views!

Tranquility & Ease

Our casita was lovely, well-furnished and spotless. The bed was excellent and the shower and walk-in closet were spacious. Our private environment outside the casita included a full patio and a hayloft overlooking (currently unoccupied) horse stables and training rings. The only sounds we heard during our entire three night stay were birds and the occasional lawn sprinkler. Our host David was genuinely warm and shared several excellent tips for activities nearby (our favorite was the beautiful Del Mar dog beach). We look forward to returning to this sublime getaway.

Staying at the Casita at Rancho Santa Fe was a dream come true. Sparkling clean, full of light, a great welcoming for both my dog and I, this great place is filled with peace. The owners love animals, and have outstanding ability in reading dogs, behavior training and getting them in balance. On occasions when I couldn’t take my four-legged friend with me, he received excellent care through the pet-sitting/playing/interaction service they offer. If you want your pet to have as great a vacation as you are, this is the place. For my special requests, the owners’ ready help and speedy attention - with a smile and assurance it was no problem - was over the top.

Peaceful and Private

Venue and host were excellent to work with. We enjoyed the location being centrally located to areas of interest and the ability to enjoy privacy away from crowds when resting. David was very knowledgeable about the area and easy to communicate with.

wonderful casita

David and Jane were awesome hosts. They even let our dog out for a quick play while we went to the Safari park. This place is pretty magic, as is the cute downtown of Rancho Santa Fe. I highly recommend their casita but it is not where you'd want to cook any gourmet meal. Course, there are so many places to eat we didn't care. We could stay again... VERY cozy bed as well.
