This is my far my most favorite Vrbo stay. The host was gracious and kind, responsive and helpful. The property had everything I needed and more and was huge! I slept so well as it was quiet and dark. Enjoying the company of all the animals was the best part of all. I can’t wait to return!

This was a nice, cozy, very clean place. Celia was an awesome host that gave us an in depth tour of all the animals and their sad stories before they came to LPR. Celia is really amazing with all of the animals and they seem to realize right away that they are in a safe loving place and will be well taken care of. It’s quite amazing to see.It’s definitely worth visiting the animals while staying there. We would stay here again if we travel back to San Diego!

I enjoyed my stay from beginning to end. Very clean and they even had a fruit plate waiting. Nice touches. It’s close enough to the beach and Del Mar, but felt like I was staying in the country (best of both worlds). Celia was so thoughtful and showed me around the rescue. Loved seeing all the happy horses and donkeys. I highly recommend staying here!!

This is a wonderful place—very comfortable, well appointed, and truly relaxing. Meeting the horses was a highlight, and you couldn’t ask for a better host than Celia. She was attentive, ensured I was comfortable, and was always available for questions. A truly memorable stay! I will be back!

Amazing Home

This was truly a special VRBO and we truly enjoyed our stay. Celia made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including some fruit and veggies in the fridge. We also got to meet her horses, goats, and donkeys - which was so fun. Really loved our stay.

My second stay

This was my second time to stay at the property and it was just as good as the first time. Celia is an amazing host and helped me tremendously with anything I needed. The animals are a delight. If you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable safe place to recharge and connect with rescue animals, this is the place.

Fun and fabulous and meritorious

Celia offers her guests an introduction to a world of caring for horses. Guests can pitch in to help joining numerous volunteers or they can merely marvel at how Laughing Pony Horse Rescue moves 100 horses per year from abandonment through adoption placements in safe circumstances.

What a magical place

This isn’t for everyone for sure. It is horses, horses horses. It is spacious and very comfortable, not fancy. We loved it.The highlight is Celia and the horses she rescues.She is a horse whisperer and is eager to share her wisdom and she has such positive energy.

Must love farms

The owner is a nice lady but the property is very rundown and not very clean. It smells like manure and it was unpleasant- there are no windows with nice views and it’s dark inside

I’m sorry to hear that your stay was not up to your expectations. We do our best to describe the apartment being on a working horse ranch. One side of the apartment is all floor to ceiling windows with blackout curtains, as needed. I was surprised that you didn’t care to tour the rest of the ranch, to see the views of the sunset, down by the gorgeous horses. My place is for horse lovers as per previous guest reviews.

Amazing, relaxing, warm and beautiful place

It is rare for me to write a review, but Celia’s bungalow deserves 10 stars! She has thought of absolutely everything to make her guests feel comfortable. We had a lovely cheese plate and other snacks and drinks waiting for us upon arrival. The small kitchen is perfect for a small group and is outfitted with everything you might need. The bed is outfitted with the softest sheets and it’s incredibly comfortable and easy to sleep. Quiet and peaceful, and the rescued horses and donkeys, sheep and goats are here to visit if you would like to see what an amazing place this truly is! We feel blessed to have been able to stay here and would not hesitate to come back anytime (I hope we will)! It is a paradise here. Thank you so much, Celia!

My new awareness

I slept like a baby in this off the beaten path non profit horse rescue ranch. Celia was a perfect host who was available when she wasn't tending to her beloved horses. I was not aware of the rescue process nor the extreme need of such a process. Volunteers are wonderful...all so happy to be helping! I was involved somewhat and Celia encourages her guests to get to know the horses and their history. For me, My 2 month stay was an incredible experience which I hope to repeat in the future.

Amazing Hospitality

Celia is amazing. She has such a heart for horses and animals of all sorts. The property is a gem! It was perfect for my long-term stay. Celia went above and beyond to accommodate my needs while I was there and the money goes to support a wonderful cause.

BEST visit EVER!!

We LOVED this amazing VRBO!! It was exactly as advertised, immaculate, quiet, wonderfully furnished (GREAT parking!) and the Rescue Ranch was SUCH a bonus! The lovely animals were fantastic, curious, happy, and we loved being able to visit them during visiting hours. The location was perfect, and the gated property contributed to the overall feeling of safety. There amenities in both the kitchen and bathroom were extensive and welcoming. The King-sized bed was absolutely wonderful and we slept so soundly in the peaceful quiet We cannot wait to visit again, and congratulated Celia and her amazing posse of volunteers/staff for keeping everything so immaculate, friendly and restful. We will be back!

Surrounded by Rustic Beauty and Love

The cottage is simple, but fills your needs for a comfortable bed and food in the refrigerator! Celia the owner, greets you at the gate. She is a joy to be around. She will tell you about the rescue stories of the horses and donkeys. There is a peaceful feeling of loving and giving among the Volunteers. You will feel it , too!!

Incredible Experience

Staying at Celias place was one of the most magical experiences. She welcomed me introduced me to all the horses and I was able to volunteer at the ranch. The place was a perfect little house for me wirh super comfortable bed but it’s the experience of staying here and meeting all the other volunteers and working with the horses that makes this truly and experience you won’t get anywhere else HIGHLY Recommended

Magical!

What a magical place! First of all, I want to thank Celia for being the most amazing and sweetest host! Her kindness and generosity really shined through our experience. Everything was perfect, from the beautiful land and trees to the loving animals on the property. The guest house sits at the top of the hill with the ranch a short walk down. Celia showed us around the ranch and introduced us to all the lovely animals. I saw so many beautiful horses who were eager to greet us! I loved the western theme in the guesthouse, you walk right into country music playing on Alexa and country bandstand on the tv. The attention to details was amazing, right down to the horse shaped towel hook. The bed is big and SO comfortable! As you lay down you’re surrounded by soft and plush blankets. It’s also very quiet so we got a good night’s sleep. There was an adorable sheep and goat that was grazing the lush green hill in the afternoon. It added to the relaxing sights and sounds experienced. The swaying of the trees and the soft sounds of the wind chime. This place was so relaxing, I would love to come again! ^_^

Beautiful location and inspiring introduction to the plight of horses that are "rescued".

Beautiful location very close to downtown Rancho Santa Fe. Great restaurants, coffee shops and of course "The Inn". The weather was perfect, amazing views from the property. The room was beautifully appointed and immaculately maintained. The property is located on a working ranch, my first introduction to a "horse rescue'. I was so saddened by the stories that each horse came with and the amazing job the owner and volunteers do to rehab, rehome and give each horse a 2nd chance. For so many reasons I would definite rebook another stay. It was a wonderful experience . I left a check to support Laughing Pony Rescue .... how could I not ?

An all around feel good stay!

I will definitely book here again! The host, Celia, went above and beyond with her hospitality. Quiet and peaceful. The accommodations were super clean with a cute western vibe. There's a nice patio with fire pit to sit and relax under the stars. This beautiful property sits on a working rescue horse ranch. I was shown around and got to meet some of the horses where I learned their stories. Just an all around feel good stay!!

Relaxed and Revived

Accommodations were exactly as presented on VRBO- comfortable and pristine. The location was incredibly peaceful and I had the privilege of learning about Laughing Pony Rescue- which is also on the grounds. I observed the hardworking founder (VRBO Hostess) and her team of volunteers lovingly care for over a dozen rescues and it warmed my soul. I plan to come back!
