Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice views, and access to the beach is a little convoluted but definitely walkable. Layout of the house is odd with lots of wasted space in the interior - more space in the downstairs bedrooms would be useful. Kitchen was not stocked very well with utensils or cleaning products and the garbage can didn't work.

Nice rental with some issues

Reviewer Comments: Nice location near the beach with great views of lake from master bedroom and large screened in deck. 1 bath towel per person for the week. No beach towels or beach chairs. Basement bedrooms have unpleasant odor. We brought an air purifier and it helped. When showering in floor with two bdrms, water leaks under floor boards. We had to move clothes in bdrm to not get wet. Minimum kitchen set up. Nice large table for groups. Upstairs bedrooms has no window that opens outside and no closet. Also has large opening with shutters opening into living rm, so noisy. It is priced lower than other homes and we made do. .

Grandkids and kids to the beach!

Youngest grand child was told we would go to the beach if she would get potty trained. She did it! Gamaw and Gampaw brought everyone to the beach!Everything wan nice at the house. The carpet in the basement was wet when we arrived. I immediately notified management. The maintenence guy said for us not to use the shower in the basement. Sort of hard to get 9 people cleaned up after spending our days on the beach.Hopefully they will have it resolved before the next guest arrive.We all enjoyed the house, views and lots of space to spread out. Kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of bath towels. Having a washer and dryer made it convenient to keep towels clean and ready.Will definitely return in the future.

The house has a wonderful view of the beach, and it was easy to get to the beach and to pretty much everything we wanted to do. Talking with the management company was nice and easy, too, and they were really responsive. Unfortunately, we had serious issues during our stay. Two of them aren't really anyone's fault; the AC and downstairs shower were leaking a LOT of water, and it was clear it was a recent development. It did mean we had seven people sharing one bathroom, which was rough.The worst problem for us was that when we arrived, the house smelled awful, like something died in a wall. The company sent someone out very quickly, and he discovered that it was the garbage disposal. He cleaned it enough the the smell mostly went away, but it still rancid if you used the sink. There's no way the cleaning crew didn't notice this issue when they cleaned the house prior to our arrival, so someone chose to try to cover up the issue and hoped we wouldn't notice instead of actually addressing it. Very nice property, we had a great stay, but hopefully the management team is able to address the issues the house is having so that future guests have a better experience.

Beware - there is a tenant attached to this

Rating Details: The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented the house for a weekend girls getaway. When we arrived there was a sign on a door that quiet time began at 10pm. If I was interested in quiet time I would’ve stayed in a hotel. We rented a house because we wanted to have the freedom to be as loud as we wanted. The parking is also an issue. If the house sleeps 14 it would be nice to be able to park more than 3 cars. There are 2 full bathrooms- in the master and the basement. The basement is shower is tiny. It’s ok but if come back to the area we would probably look for something else. The beach entrance is close but to the water is a hike so bring a cooler with wheels

Fine location, ample public space, kitchen could be better

Yes, there are a lot of steps to get to the beach and a winding staircase in the house so not best for everyone, but the view of the beach is great and there is a large screened in deck that makes the already ample living space even better. THe downstairs bedrooms have two double bed size bunkbeds which were not the most comfortable. There is a den on the bottom floor too with a TV that was nice for the teenagers. We had to go out and buy stuff for the kitchen. It is set up for a short stay or someone who doesn't plan to cook for a group. FYI: To the owners: A friend of my brother's, who is your neighbor, wrote a negative review that went under his name since he had booked it for your guest. It was not from him and he wouldn't have posted it! He didn't know about it till I rented the house and saw the review. Sorry.

Ok for short stay

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Family gathering (10 adults, 6 kids ages 0-5) for 5 days. Beach is close but hill to house is huge and hill from beach to water is daunting. Wish we rented golf cart or 4-wheeler? House had lots of square footage but was poorly utilized- really only enough lounging seating (sofa/chairs) for 5 people. No TV on main floor. Bed situation is odd. Master is huge and has only a queen (double?). We ended up putting all children in master on air mattresses. We had to purchase several of our own kitchen items including a can opener and pot. The house was not very clean- even the small children were complaining that the floors were gross and the property had only 1 small vacuum that had a very short cord so it couldn't even reach the rug. I once texted the number provided to ask if there was a beach umbrella and got a short reply that there was none and they offered no suggestions (even when I asked) for where I could rent one. Parking is not marked, I am still not sure which spaces we should've used- there are some up top and some at bottom. Rental co only provides limited dishwasher pods, toilet paper, laundry soap, paper towels, garbage bags and if you need more than 2 of each, you have to buy your own. Limited towels- felt like we were always washing towels so people had one to use. The screened porch was super nice. Overall an ok experience.

A perfect “hilltop” setting

We were not disappointed. In fact, the actual experience far exceeded our expectations and the breathtaking views from the enormous deck were unbelievable, morning , noon, and night. A large extremely comfortable location and with a dramatic, yet relaxing great room awaits anyone wanting the ultimate getaway.

It was perfect for small children to do crafts and play games. The management company was very good to work with. They met every request promptly and professionally. A few updates would make this property much more appealing. The beds and bedding need a definite update. They were extremely uncomfortable. Plus the pillows had pillow shams on them and no pillow cases. The kitchen had one pot to cook with. And the cooking utensils were very sparse.

Family vacation

The property was lovely. The bunk beds and spiral staircases were more of a challenge than we'd anticipated. It's more suitable for kids than adults. The on-site resident was not at all an issue for but think potential visitors should be made aware of that ahead of time. More towels would have been nice.

Horrible experience...

We found a person living in the back of the house. We were petrified. This is the most horrible experience I have ever had. We were deceived and never informed of this situation. I knocked on her door and told her I was calling the police. And a repairman showed up and we were gone for the day and we were never informed. My husband walked in and there he was. PLEASE DONT STAY IN THIS HOUSE YOU WON'T GET ANY SLEEP. And we couldn't find smoke detectors. We questioned this got no response. We asked to be relocated but all they had was much smaller place. To small for our group.

Great location, beautiful screened patio, easy walk to beach

We booked back in February, and were very excited for the upcoming trip, until we looked the day before our check in and saw the reviews about Kelly. I called the property management company and they assured us it would not be an issue. As the day approached we started hyping up the trip, as well as mentally picturing Kelly and her reaction to a house full of rowdy, “slightly” over weight and balding middle aged men on a fishing/guys trip. We envisioned befriending her, and late night Taco Bell runs, as we all sang Mellencamp. This would then blossom into an ongoing friendship that would lead to us being pals. I’m not sure what they did, but we heard no voices, no farts, and had no passive aggressive sticky notes about quiet time. Quite frankly, we were disappointed we didn’t get to meet Kelly. Despite no sign of her, and also an extremely wonky upstairs shower nozzle (should really fix that), we had a very enjoyable time. I would still rate 5-Star despite these two issues.

There were a few basic items that it would have been nice if the house had (there were no potholders, no can opener, no kleenex). The dishwasher was also broken and it was apparent that food from the past renters was coming up the sink when we attempted to run the dishwasher. The management company was VERY responsive in trying to resolve the issue. We would definitely stay here again but would ask about the maintenance of the dishwasher and these few items.

Everything was great but kitchen items are lacking. No pot holders. No can opener. Very limited pots.pans, and cooking utensils. No sink plug for washing dishes.

Another person lives in this house

There is another person living in this house. The posting does not say this, and the price is astronomical. Kelly lives in the cabin attached to the house. There is a very thin door between you and her. It was terrifying to suddenly hear someone clearly talking in the house our first night. When I grabbed my child and screamed ‘who’s here?’, I was completed astounded by her righteous reply that she LIVES here. You will hear her talk. You will hear her alarm in the morning. You’ll quickly get to know her work schedule. You’ll hear her fart. A loud one at 7:54 in the morning shook the entire house. You can’t open the door from your side but she can open it from hers. The fact that none of this is disclosed in the listing is, frankly, unethical and immoral. Don’t rent this house unless you want an extremely unwelcome roommate.
