Place and furnishings are very old and in need of updating. We loved the location but the house was a let down. It was not communicated that there was an upstairs apartment and shared hallway with a questionable locked bedroom door.

Pleased with accommodations. Cute place for a couple. The only downside on top of one full day of steady rain was not having internet or cable for the entire weekend. While very inconvenient in not even being able to watch movies, we just made the best of it.

I describe this apartment as shabby chic! It is eclectic. But clean and comfortable. (The cushions on the sofa did feel damp, but I am thinking it was a combination of the fabric and humidity ... welcome to the south! - Simply putting down a blanket solved the problem). I was pleased to see the bed had been upgraded to a king! The fenced in backyard was wonderful when traveling with a dog and the view and beach access was great! Thank you for a great stay!

Just What I Needed

I came to Pelican Alley for some much needed rest and reflection after losing my mother after a long illness. It was perfect!! Just right for me, clean, quiet and right on the beach. I could not have asked for more.

I am writing to request a refund for Reservation# 127181. Unfortunately, the property did not meet my expectations due to the following reasons… The entire apartment needed to be cleaned. The couch and Kitchen were filthy. Everything was musty and moldy smelling. It’s listed with a washer and dryer but the washer and dryer is located in the attached home garage. We would not feel comfortable using a shared area and should be in the listing as shared. The kitchen stove and lights did not work. The door in the bedroom has direct access in to the owners house which this should be listed in the listing and is not. That same door only has an interior lock and should have a deadbolt. The owner came down to this door and knocked which is absolutely unacceptable and made me feel very unsafe and we had to vacate the property , and I believe a refund is warranted. Melissa Lenjani

Pelican Alley

My favorite place to stay for one /two people. Private deck and beautiful backyard facing the ocean, which is only a few steps … if you prefer you can sit on the raised deck in the swing and watch the waves come in from there… either way, coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening is delightful!

Another great stay at Folly/Pelican Alley

Fabulous location! Fenced in yard for the pup is ideal. All of the amenities needed in the kitchen (updated/usable grill would be nice) and the bed is very comfortable. The swing on the upper deck is perfect for bird/dolphin watching with coffee and/or afternoon wine. Diane is super sweet. Can't wait to return soon.

Just perfect for what we needed

We had a lovely time at this charming property. Some reviews said it was small, but it was plenty spacious for us! Things are not shiny new, but that works for us. We like eclectic. We were very grateful to hear the ocean waves, be able to easily walk to the end of the island and enjoy the park there, and have everything we needed. I will note at high tide there is no beach here, and we had weird timings for low tide, so werent able to enjoy the beach as much as we would have liked.

Awesome!

Fantastic location and house is perfect for a couples get away. Fenced in yard for the pup is super convenient. Bed/pillows are comfy. We loved hanging out on the back deck/swing area. We've already booked a second stay!! Gas grill is broken and needs to be replaced. Instructions on where the trash can/washer-dryer are located and how the ACs work would be helpful.

Great location, unit was fine.

Location was great. Beautiful beach. The unit was smaller than we anticipated based on the photos. The cushions on the living room couch were damp and we had to leave them out in the sun to dry. Relatively convenient to downtown Folly Beach restaurants.
