Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Right on Sylvan Lake in Rome City,IN. Some of the best bass, crappie, walleye fishing right out from the house. Or just read a book or watch a movie and enjoy the scenery of a lake front property. Also has washer & dryer if you need it. There is 2 dock spaces if you want to bring your own boats and room for your boat trailer. Also have a pontoon I rent out if you need one. Enjoy the firepit to end the evening. Lots to do making this a great place to visit year round. 2 kayaks . You can fish from the dock, make s'mores at the fire pit. Hiking & biking trails nearby.NO SMOKING, AND NO PARTIES!!

Comfortable Place to stay in Rome City

Attended a family member’s wedding and reception at Sylvan Cellars. Home right on Sylvan Lake was very convenient and close to the wedding venue.

Nice house on quiet lake

It was wonderful for our group of seven to be able to stay at a place with five bedrooms and four full bathrooms. The house was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything that we needed. The owner was very quick to respond to messages messages, and very helpful.

Great lake home

We enjoyed this beautiful home with out whole family, 6 adults and two babies. Very clean and just a beautiful view. Quiet and comfortable for all of us. We took our two boats and loved the dock for convenience. The guys enjoy the fishing. Overall great stay and would love to come back!!

Loved the lake and the kids enjoyed tubing on the boat. The house was large enough for all of us with some additional air mattresses. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, appliances and seating. Communication with the owner was fantastic, overall great experience.

Very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the kayaks. This home was very easy to get to. Parking would be the only drawback and that wasn't a big deal. Howard was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Overall I would give our stay 5 stars

Beautiful Lake in Indiana

We had a wonderful stay on Sylvan Lake! The house was the perfect size for our extended family (7 adults and 5 kids under 6). Plenty of seating in the kitchen for meals and the family room for relaxing on the couch. Very accommodating bedrooms with comfortable space for young ones. We had fun with the kayaks, doing races around the island. Loved it’s proximity to downtown Rome City which offered a delicious ice cream shop and convenient grocery store.

Wedding weekend stay away

We loved the area on the lakeshore. Very Pretty. The house had plenty of room other than low ceilings in the lower level. I have 3 boys all over 6 ft tall so they had to duck a little when going through some rooms but otherwise a great place to stay.

Spacious house

Beautiful views, nice balconies on almost every bedroom! Clean and spacious. Only thing we didn’t like was parking. Only allowed 2 spots at the actual house, had to leave other vehicle down the road. Overall great experience!

The house was very nice, as was the view from the deck, and the rooms were quiet. We enjoyed the large kitchen and refrigerator. When we had a problem and contacted the host, the response was quick and professional. However, the parking situation with only 2 slots was not ideal at all. For a house with that much occupancy, you have to assume there will be more cars. We are all older, some with difficulty walking and this should have been mentioned in the initial description of the rental. (We managed to work it out fortunately) Also, one of the lots that was supposed to be open for overflow cars was not. The path to the front door is steeper than expected and it is not lit at night, so it was difficult for our visually impaired group member.

Loved the Lake

All twelve of us loved the home and enjoyed the lake. We loved the quietness of the homes location and the home gave us a lot of space.. The parking had much to be desired but it worked out OK. The walk from Gaff Park was OK. We all loved the Ice Cream Shop and loved the quietness of the lake. The home was great and was exactly how it was advertised. We are planning for another trip next year! The owners are awesome and very responsive!!

Relaxing lake stay

The house was wonderful and very well stocked. The abundance of bedrooms and full bathrooms were great for our large group. We took the kayaks out several times and enjoyed s’mores in the fire pit. Howard was very responsive to messages. We decided to rent the pontoon and did have fun cruising the lake. However, the condition of the pontoon was rather rough with many seat holes covered in duct tape. Not sure if I’d do that part again, but everything else was awesome.

8-3-23 — 8-6-23 stay

This was a great property for our group to stay at. They did a great job renovating this place to fit a big group into. The only downfalls of this place, which they cannot control due to the age, is the low ceilings and the gas smell that comes from the basement. I was properly explained (after checking in) that it is a “Michigan style basement” and has been like that since the current owners purchased the property. Would easily stay at the property in the future!

Family Celebration

The house accommodated our 11 family members out of the area to stay comfortably and be able to visit with other family members living in the area. We all gathered to be together to celebrate a high school graduation and Open House as well as a surprise 25th wedding anniversary party at Sylvan Cellars. The house was well supplied for meeting all our needs. The ceilings on the first floor were low, so for people over 6'5" need to duct heads a lot, but we managed.

Sylvan Lake Rental

The property was nice and we enjoyed our stay. The parking situation is not the best, as you are only allowed 2 vehicles, and more than 2 vehicles have to park elsewhere. The fishing was very disappointing this year. 4 of us were fishing and we only caught 14 fish for the entire week, but I guess that’s fishing.

Great lake retreat

This is a great place to stay. We brought boats and could fish right from shore. The kids could swim and the deck is huge, which was nice for our elderly mom. The only thing I would improve would be a second air conditioner up stairs. It was so hot. Or if a door was added to the staircase t keep the cold air up stairs. Other than that it was perfect! Thanks so much!

This lake house is clean, nicely decorated and set up well for large or multiple family stay. Kitchen area has a large dining table and living room has comfy seating for family gatherings. The bedrooms are also large with quiet seating area and beds for all age levels. It offers every amenity needed to enjoy for your stay! The main deck is large, lots of seating and the 3-person swing with lake view was a favorite spot. Parking is limited and the access road is single lane, not accommodating to towing boat/trailer. This host was quick to respond for assistance.

Convenient for sons wedding at Sylvan Cellars.

Plenty of space for family. Great kitchen to cook. Nice view and location. Ceilings are low and few hit their heads coming down the stairs. The wall down was difficult for father n law with Parkinson’s.

The house was great and Howard was great e too work with. The children had a blast tubing in the water everyday. Loved the little playground a shirt walk sway. And going for walks to the ice cream place!

great vacation home

Howard was very easy to communicate with. The house easily accommodated our family of 10. The lake was beautiful and peaceful. We liked being on a cove so the children could play in the water in front of the house. Would definitely recommend this home for a family vacation.
