Easy walk into town!

We had three kids under 7, so the carpeted second floor with all the bedrooms close to one another worked out great! The location made walking to town, the playground, the beach, etc. a breeze!

Host and house were wonderful!

The host was very accommodating, receptive, and responsive. We have stayed at a lot of rental properties and Wadke was the only person to ever reach out and check-in to make sure everything was going well! Thank you!!!

Location

Fantastic little property. Very clean with some solid amenities. Best part of the house is the location. Walking distance from many restaurants, bars, and downtown Lake Placid. Still surrounded by a quiet little neighborhood so you get the best of both worlds.

Great family house, close to Mirror Lake

We had a great stay here- we were up to ski- well my husband, son and two brothers. I stayed at the house with my brother's girlfriend and it was a very comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed at the house (including puzzles, games and books) -cozy family room and well-equipped kitchen. My son enjoyed hanging out in the basement. He liked the sofa and tv. We all had enough space for us all and never felt like we were on top of each other. Great storage for skis/snowboards/boots situated right when you enter the basement from the driveway- very convenient when loading/unloading car. The house is about two blocks from Mirror Lake and it is an easy walk. Never had a problem communicating with the owners, they always got back to me right away. Overall a great house and we would definitely stay here again.

Lake Placid Getaway

Comfortable three bedroom home in walking distance to center of Lake Placid. Easy access with skis to basement from driveway. Temperature control in all rooms to accomodate all guests comfort.

Friends weekend

Had a great time relaxing at the house and enjoyed a short walk into town to visit the shops and restaurants. Property was clean and we had no issues.

Ski vacation

We had a wonderful stay at this home. Terrific location close to the Olympic oval and Lake Placid shops/restaurants. Only 15 minutes to Whiteface. Bedrooms were comfortable and the basement was perfect for the kids to hang out. Owners very responsive when we contacted them during the stay. Will definitely try and stay here again!

Great location in Lake Placid!

Clean, bright, and spacious. Property owner very accommodating and responsive. Easy walk to the main street. Could use more kitchen supplies but otherwise a good property. Newly finished basement with games, great for teens. Overall a good place to stay.

Commuter Dream to Downtown Placid

We had a great experience with our stay in Lake Placid. Wadke was for helpful and communicative through the entire stay. Placid Place is in an ideal spot for people looking to explore Lake Placid. Less than a 10 minute walk downtown, your free to explore all of the lakeside town restaurants, gift shops, and other local spots. We would definitely recommend anyone visiting Lake Placid to stay at Placid Place.

Perfect Winter Getaway Home

Our family stayed at Placid Place for 2 nights the coldest weekend of the year but the house was very warm and welcoming. There were 4 adults, 2 children and a dog in our group. We loved the house. It was very spacious and clean. The house is extremely kid friendly with a big basement for them to play in. The house was stocked with plenty of paper products, soap, clean linens and kitchen basics. The host was very good about checking in with us during our stay. The location is great because you can easily walk into town. I would definitely recommend this house.

Birthday weekend in LP

Our adult family met for a Birthday weekend for Father and Son, we enjoyed hanging out at the house and seeing sites. Along with some skiing . Overall the house worked out great , only suggestion would be to add or upgrade some of the kitchen utensils, adding some basic salad or serving mixing bowls measuring cup etc . We have all stayed in many Vrbo/ABB and never experienced any with cameras on property , while we were assured none were in the home we all felt they were an invasion of our privacy not an increase in security .

Awesome House

We spent New Year’s week at 16 Colden. A perfect location — easy to walk into town for meals and shopping. Had dinners at Lisa G’s and Liquids and Solids — each of them less than a 4 minute walk from the house. Great basement room set up for movies, watching football and paying air hockey and foosball. Basement entrance ideal for coming and going from skiing. Kitchen was great. Cannot recommend more highly.

Family had an amazing time!

Kyle’s place was just what we needed! The location and the house amenities were great! We were a family of 8 with two kids and a dog and everyone in the house felt extremely comfortable. Further the house was spotless and with clean fresh linens and pillows! We stayed at the house for a month and we absolutely had an amazing time. Kyle was extremely super responsive to all our questions pre-arrival and during our stay. Absolutely highly recommend!

Exceptional house, perfect for families with children

Exceptional rooms throughout the house. Great to have a basement dedicated to hanging wet gear and leaving shoes before running around the rest of the house. The kids loved the air hockey table. Kitchen had a great island with two stools perfect for acting as the center piece for many meals and decisions. We took advantage of the firepit out back to make s'mores and the beds were very comfortable in each room. Kids were obsessed with the bunk beds, big hit! Great location, highly recommend!

Our stay

The house was very clean. Location was great. Can walk to town and public beach. The stove was not working properly and in middle of making breakfast for a large group (we rented a house down street also) we had to take all food to other house to finish making it. The lawn was not cut so it looked a little shaggy. The inside of house was very very nice. One other thing. The picture of the yard is deceiving. It’s on a hill and you can’t sit in yard around a fire pit. Owner very responsive. Nice guy! We did have a great time. Just a couple things I thought should be addressed.

Phenomenal property with great owners

Our multi-generational family of kids and dogs enjoyed the most comfortable stay at Kyle and Kate's home. Look no further if you need the perfect location, tucked away slightly off the beaten path, but still super convenient to the town beach, restaurants, bars, and stores. The house was in excellent condition, communication was superb, and we can't wait to return!

Large family friendly

Traveling with my large family can be challenging, however, this house fit our needs perfectly! We had plenty of comfortable beds to sleep in as well as space to spread out with a newly finished basement game room! What a great surprise!!! My only suggestion is to get a kitchen garbage can with a tight fitting lid. We had to keep the trash in the half bath so our (otherwise incredibly well-behaved) lab wasn’t tempted 😉

Great location and super clean!

We just spent 3 nights in this lovely home! There were 4 adults and 4 young girls with plenty of room to move about! The home was extremely clean and had all of the amenities that we needed. It was a easy and convenient walk to main street in town, while also being close to trails for snow shoeing, cross country skiing, ice skating and all of the amazing outdoor activities that you would find in the ADK's! Kyle was a great host and was available if needed. I would highly recommend this home for a fun getaway!

Perfect family getaway

This was just what we needed to get away from all of life’s stresses but still have access to anything we could ask for- walking distance to attractions, restaurants and more; beautiful views, all the amenities we needed, super clean and dog-friendly to boot! We hope to be back!

Great property & location in Lake Placid

I highly recommend this property. It's great for accommodating friends and family with plenty of room to spread out. The location makes it easy to walk into town while providing access to the Adirondacks for skiing and hiking. The check-in process was seamless and the host provides everything for a comfortable stay. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking meals and preparing lunches for a day in the wilderness. The dining area is great for gathering and playing games with friends. I'd definitely stay here again.

Comfortable home away from home

My family of 3 enjoyed our 5-wk stay at the house, and are so glad we found the listing. The house is exactly as described - clean, spacious, comfortable, pet friendly and close to town. It was the perfect long term rental for us, and we’re already itching to go back! Kyle is easy to work with, reachable and responds quickly to make sure everything is ok. We would definitely recommend this house to friends and family.
