Recent Updates for guests of 2026! Now sleeps 12!!

Prime corner condo with water front location. Views of bay and lazy river/pool deck. The condo is very spacious (2389 sf) with 2 king suites, and 2 full beds, a rollaway bed that can be moved to any room, plus a fold-out sleeper chair and a new sleeper sofa in the living room. All mattresses are plush top-of-the-line Coastals. All 3 bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, and there is also a half bath. Perfect for large families with all adults or grown children needing their own bed (no bunks) and bathroom. This spacious condo sleeps 12 with plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable being together or needing their own space. An extra large wraparound balcony with gorgeous views of the bay and the lazy river. There is plenty of seating for the whole family to enjoy the balcony all at once at meal time or just to lounge around and watch the boat traffic or the dolphins play.
Heron has a pool exclusively for guests of the Heron building and it is heated. There is also a 700 ft lazy river and 2 spas along with a waterfall pool that is also heated during colder months. There is a walk-over bridge leading to the the Gulf with it's beautiful white sandy beaches.

The Living room is complete with a mounted 55 inch flat screen TV. Each of the 2 masters have 47 inch TVs and the 3rd bedroom has a 42 inch tv. All are new flat screens, with the three largest being LED razors. The 3 largest TVs have cable and are smart TVS.
The kitchen has granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. It is fully equipped. There is also a private dining room with seating for 6 plus additional seating at the breakfast bar.
There are numerous restaurants nearby, a boardwalk, an aquarium and it's a short drive to an outlet mall as well as several other shopping complexes and grocery stores. The convention center is a block and a half away. There are also numerous golf courses.
No contact check-in and out, Wifi and free parking.

Spring Break

The place was great all around. Clean, plenty of room, really nice. The only thing that we were not a fan of was the amount of drinking/drunk 20s/30s somethings in the pool/hot tub areas at night. It could have just been the time of year but we wished that we could have enjoyed those things as a family. I did not feel comfortable about teenagers being around that at all.

Excellent stay with beautiful views

The property was well maintained and the views were amazing. The condo is roomy and allows for some relaxation away from other guests. The FWB location was perfect with a 10 minute drive to Destin. This is an excellent property.

Fall Break trip

We found the Heron 303 condo last minute due to previous vacation plans being canceled due to hurricane. We felt truly blessed to be able to get this condo once we arrived. It was beautiful and very spacious. The condo and resort were very clean and the grounds with pools, hot tubs, lazy river were spectacular. The grounds crew worked hard to keep it clean. Being on the bay side was very convenient with easy access to the beach. We felt the Heron seemed newer compared to beach side rooms. The over the road walkway was nice. The condo has an assortment of beach items available with a nice wagon to carry items. Bring your own beach towels though. The rooms inside condo were very spacious and the 3 1/2 baths was a plus. We also loved the very large balcony with great views and lots of seating. We loved our time at Destin West and would definitely return again.

We will be back!

We had 4 adults and 3 kids in our stay and there was PLENTY of space. The bedrooms are big and spacious. We were there for a wedding but between the balcony and the lazy river it truly felt like a vacation. We’re already talking about booking again.

WE LOVE THIS CONDO! We stayed last year for Rock by the Sea, charity music festival. We love it! It is very well appointed and kept up! We hope to have the same condo next year!

Great Condo

This is really a fantastic Condo, only real problem was the mattress in the master bedroom. They really need a new mattress in there but the view is so beautiful from it, we didn’t care how lumpy it was. Also probably need a newer TV in there, couldn’t get the streaming channels but we could still watch TV. Definitely no problem compared to that view. They do have some beach toys in the laundry room including chairs, umbrella and wagon. We did bring our own because I did not see that they had any in any of the reviews that I saw online. Also, I called and they told me they did not think they had any. They do so if you’re driving, don’t bother bringing any. The condo is very clean when we arrived. We did have a problem with the garbage disposal. Maintenance was there within an hour when I called and he was really nice and helpful. This condo is huge the balcony huge and you don’t see your neighbors.I thought it felt very private. Again those views so pretty. Beautiful beach, close to the pier. Lots of Dolphins swimming around the pier. Rick’s next door great place to watch the game and everyone said their food was great, we only tried the cheese curds…. Very tasty. I wavered back-and-forth about Gulfside and bayside because I really love to walk the beach but so happy with my decision of Bayside with grandkids it’s so nice to go right down to those pools and that lazy River is fantastic. Those kids loved it. Not too bad of a walk to the beach. Absolutely Beautiful !!

Perfect Vacation Spot

From booking to checking out was a wonderful experience.....This property is beautiful.....larger square footage.....love the large bedrooms....with beautiful view from master.....huge wrap around balcony........from the bay view to the pools and lazy river....short walk over the bridge to the beach and beautiful ocean.....highly reccomend this resort and property......

Return visit did not disappoint!

We visited this unit 3 years ago and loved it so much, we wanted to return. The space is perfect for our family with adult children. Everyone enjoyed relaxing at the beach (short walk) and the numerous pools. This area is very family friendly fir all ages. The unit was clean and spacious, with a kitchen that had everything we needed. The balcony is huge and has plenty of comfortable seating for all.

Lovely condo

We really enjoyed the condo! The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed. The furniture was very comfortable - including patio furniture. Everything was very clean as well. The view from that gorgeous wrap around balcony can’t be beat. Would stay here again!

Wonderful Stay

This condo is even nicer than the current photos as they have done some updates. It is extremely spacious, and the location is just perfect. We did see 1 dolphin in the bay. Not sure if they are there often or if we just got lucky by seeing one the week we were there. Condo was very clean and the balcony is HUGE! Had a great time at Destin West! Would DEFINITELY stay there again!

First time I have stayed where there was a bay and beach. I pushed my self too far trying to walk to the dock. I didn’t realize how much distance you would need to walk. Spacious condo with beautiful views of the bay

This condo was so clean and spacious. The direct view of the gulf allowed for breathtaking sunsets. We loved the closeness to the private Heron pool and to the lazy river. And Rick's on the island was just a few minutes walk. Great food we picked up and brought home several times. With the current pandemic that was a definite perk.

Reviewer Comments: - The views of the bay and many passing boats were beautiful- Large balcony was nice for everyone to be out on- Heated pool allowed us to swim on our chillier days- Kitchen (i.e. pots, pans, etc.) was well stocked, we lacked nothing- location was great providing a less crowded beach to the east- easy access to both bay and gulf- dock in bay was great with night time walks allowing us to see fish and crabs- as with any condo with pools, expect noise with the excitement of kids playing- overall really nice facility with good location
