Two bedrooms upstairs with a king and a queen bed, both with their own bathroom, plus loft on the third floor, with a queen bed and a trundle bed ( 2 singles), ample lanai space, washer and dryer in unit, large kitchen, sits on the island's southernmost point, with great complex amenities. Walking distance to two of Kauai's south shore pristine beaches Poipu Beach and Shipwrecks.

Perfect family getaway! The living and dining areas are spacious and breezy on the main floor, so your whole family will feel comfortable. Generous kitchen for cooking fabulous meals, and the lanai looks out over the ocean with a great view of remarkable sunsets every night. Please note this unit is on the third level and there is not an elevator, once inside the condo, there are three levels as well.

Great property and perfect location! Beds were very comfortable and the house had all the amenities we could ask for and then some. The beach items were very convenient! The host was also very responsive and accommodating. Would absolutely stay again!

Trying to find just the right place for a family of seven to stay for a week in Hawaii was daunting. The Makahuena condo popped up in a search and after researching the amenities, location, price, etc it seemed ideal…and it definitely was! It had everything we needed, and then some! The property grounds are beautiful, the location is convenient, all of the beds were comfortable, the place was clean and tidy, and the price was very affordable, which is a huge plus. The property owner/manager was very communicative and check in and check out was smooth and seamless. I would definitely recommend this place to others who have larger groups or families. Mahalo for helping to make our family’s Hawaiian vacation comfortable and wonderful.

The location is great! We thought the pictures didn't do the view justice. You can walk to several beaches from here. It is an older property, so there is some wear and tear and doesn't have the amenities newer resort properties. Also, fyi that the upstairs bedroom can be a bit hot to start the night out but it was perfect for our family. We appreciated the welcome package with coffee and that it had beach chairs, towels and sand toys available for use. Loved it and would definitely consider staying again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo itself is old and it was pretty dirty. Also it rained a lot and the walls were leaking. Water was coming through the door jam and other parts of the master bedroom. Has to have towels and buckets on the floor for two days. As it constantly dripped. Called and management sent someone out later that day and they tried to fix it. Spent several hours waiting around for them to come and then a couple hours while they tried to fix that and the tv. Management was good to work with so we appreciated that. Just wouldn’t stay here again because it was old and really dirty. Food crumbs, dust, old crusty sock showers had hair in them, etc.

The stay was good.The only thing that needs attention is the shower curtains they were moldy and some improvement in cleaning under the couch and beds .Otherwise it was a good place to stay.

Great stay. Easy walk to the beach, plenty of room for our family of 5 (teen and adults). Great communication by property management and very reasonably priced. Also close to pool and hot tub. Definitely recommend!

This place was fantastic! 3 levels, 2 3/4 bathroom. Easy access to anywhere near the south side of the island. Very clean. Internet worked well. Easy access to Shipwreck Beach for the best sunrise on the island.Reminder***bring your own shopping bags for groceries otherwise you’ll have to buy them at the grocery store.

Relaxing place

This condo was great for our family plus grandma. Having two bedrooms plus the loft gave us space to spread out and the large dining table was good for meals and playing games. We used the cooler every day on our car trips around the island.

Kauai vacation at Makahuena

Property met our needs and AC a great amenity! Condo was comfortable but could use an update in decor to make it more pleasant for a vacation stay. Could use a better more thorough cleaning between guests. Location on the island is great.
