Welcome to the Fruit Loop Retreat, featuring a beautiful "Rock Garden Cottage" a newly remodeled cottage one of two cottages on property nestled in 7 acres of woods in Bayfield, WI. The property allows you to savor a peaceful and quiet northwoods experience but still minutes from several attractions and historic downtown Bayfield.

The property is conveniently located just 5 minutes' drive or 2.5 miles from the center of downtown Bayfield. Located right on county Hwy J, a starting point for a self-guided tour around the city of Bayfield where an exploration of several family apple orchards, fruit farms, and wineries.

Enjoy exploring Northern Wisconsin Lake Superior South Shore with various hiking trails throughout the year, mountain biking in the summer snowshoe or fat bikes/cross country skiing in the winter, public beaches and state parks minutes away. Take the Bayfield Ferry to Madeline Island, see the Apostle Islands sea caves through kayaking or guided site seeing cruises (seasonal) there is so much to explore!

Our cozy Rock Garden Cottage features a main level 2 queen bedroom, upper-level (*must be able to use stairs to access) is an open concept living kitchen layout with futon for extra sleeping, electric fireplace, and bathroom with spacious Italian marble walk in shower, and views out the large windows of the woods. The cottage has large outdoor rockgarden landscape feature with adironndack chairs surrounding a firepit as well as picnic table and grill to enjoy the outdoor space. Enjoy a fire with provided wood perfect to relax and unwind after a day exploring Bayfield (outdoor features are seasonal May-October) Starlink fast internet w/Netflix included, fully stocked kitchen (NO OVEN in this rental), complimentary bathroom toiletries.

+ Winter season (Nov-April) we highly suggest a awd/4wd vehicle due to the snow packed /incline of the driveway

**Please note that when renting our Rock Garden Cottage there is another cottage on the property 100'ft across the driveway. There may or may not be other guests staying in the other cottage at the same time of your stay. Some trees give separation. Only front entrance and one window in the cottage faces the other cottage with blinds/curtains provided in the main level bedroom. We have property boundaries as well as quiet hours implemented in our house rules.**

This property has 2 security cameras to ensure the safety of the guests, neighbors, and the home. +One on the shed overlooking the driveway +One In the garage overlooking the supplies shelf (guests are not allowed in the garage)

My friends and I had the most wonderful girls weekend here! It was so neat and clean, there were labels and thoughtful instructions for everything, and even when we got locked out at 10 PM, we were able to call and get immediate assistance! Lots of windows and natural light, with views of the beautiful winter forest surrounding the property. Just a short drive to Bayfield, and we were able to pick up wine and ingredients for a yummy charcuterie board to go with the adorable complimentary jam we were welcomed with! Thank you so much for our magical stay!

This was an amazing place to stay! So comfy, close enough to do whatever you wanted to in town, but far enough away to have some privacy. We loved every aspect of staying here. The owners really put a lot of thought and care into what experience they wanted for their customers. Would definitely stay here again.

Cozy cottage in the woods

We loved our stay! Our hosts were very communicative and the place is just as it looks in the pictures. Very close to town but it feels like you're miles away from the rest of the world. It has everything you need for a great stay. You won't be disappointed in the least!

Great Location

Chris was wonderful at communication and making sure we had everything for a wonderful vacation which made the trip perfect. The location is great as it's close to the ferry to Madeline and all the Apostle Islands has to offer. Definitely recommend. Also, the unit was spotless which I really appreciate and they even gifted a jar of local jam upon arrival. Thank you!

Lovely property in a great location

This was a perfect location for our family. It is close to Bayfield and not too far from Cornucopia (where the company we selected for a kayak was located) or Meyers Beach (kayak launch and hiking). The host left great instructions and the property was clean and had everything we needed.

Bayfield Visit

The location was a few miles from Bayfield making it very convenient but allowing for privacy and relaxation from the busy town life. It was also an easy drive to the other side of the peninsula. Although the property is shared by another cabin the drive is large enough that it still felt like its own place. The beds were comfortable and the house was stocked with more than I ever realized. It was very nice to have so much included and not need to pack as much for the trip!

Long weekend getaway

Cozy cabin in the woods

Loved the outdoor fire pit. Cabin was very clean cute and comfortable. Lots of nice amenities. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Property manager quickly responded to questions. Location was secluded but close to town. There were others staying at the other cabin, didn’t bother us. We were in and out of the place each day. Large fridge and nice toaster oven. Small stove top made it tricky to make a meal needing both burners.

Glamorous girlfriend getaway

This place is a rare beauty a little bit off the beaten track, but very close to town. My high school friend and I wanted a nice place with two beds, which is hard to find. The home and property were beautiful, modern, and clean. Lots of little extra touches, showing how much care was put into making this comfortable stay. Would highly recommend and definitely come back!

Relaxing and Peaceful! The cabin was filled with everything you could need, very clean and well organized.The property is tucked away in your own enchanted forest, but within minutes shops, restaurants and activities. We highly recommend it, you wont be disappointed.

Bayfield and Madeline Island are worth the visit. This property has everything you need! They have truly thought of everything for comfort and convenience! Well stocked kitchen, close to town, but far enough away that you feel like you’re tucked away in a forest paradise. Highly recommended!

Great cottage!

Check in was easy and house instructions were clear. The house was clean, the kitchen was well stocked, towels were provided, the beds were comfy, and there was enough linens for the futon. I did have to contact the owner and I got a response right away. The size of the cottage was perfect for our family of four. Loved our stay in Bayfield, we’re already planning our next trip.

A must stay!

This property was so beautiful! Well maintained, clean, and so many little details have been thought of and taken care of for you. And it’s literally only 4 minutes from town. We were originally a little concerned that there’s another rental cottage across the driveway, but this was a total non issue. Both properties had plenty of privacy. If you need a place to stay in bayfield choose this one!!

The property features 2-cottages our "Rock Garden Cottage" (this booking) and a "Main Cottage" (different booking) or book both cottages in our "two cottage" retreat listing. The cottages are aprox 100'ft apart making this a unique space.

House Rules/Policies: Here are some of our requirements for staying with us:

+ Minimum renter age 21+ a min age requirement for booking with us.
+ ID verification, we do have the right to* request to verify ID if needed* this helps ensure you meet our age minimum
+ Review our cancelation policies we do enforce policies in place - we do encourage travel insurance due to unforeseen circumstances.
+ Cleaning fee charges are same guidelines as cancellation policy even if cottage is not used
+ No Pets. We have chosen to not allow guest pets – no exceptions! Please respect the owners’ requests. Do not sneak in animals subject to dismissal from the property/fees
+ Acknowledging this is a two-cottage property there may or may not be other guests staying at the other cottage 100' away - if the entire property isnt booked for your entire group during your stay.
+ Quiet hours observed 10pm-8am. No loud music/voices in the allotted quiet times, especially in our outdoor spaces due to being a shared 2-cottage property.
+ No Parties/Events/Gatherings at the property subject to dismissal from the property with no refund.
+ No smoking/vaping/canibas inside our cottages - subject to adnl fees if evidence of this *(please dispose any cigarettes in the provided cigarette butt receptacles)
+6-person guest capacity
