Sunny South is a charming coastal cottage located on the water at Bear Point. The outdoor space boasts a deck and patio, and additional seating under the oaks with a bay view and a meandering boardwalk. The home also features a restored pier that does not currently feature electricity or lighting.

The cottage features modern upgrades and an open floor plan, promoting togetherness for your vacation. The upgraded kitchen features granite countertops and lots of workspace for those memorable vacation meals with family and friends.

Each bedroom has been beautifully outfitted with your comfort in mind. The cottage has four TVs and a DVR in the living room, plus a Roku TV in the bedrooms (no cable) , so there's no shortage of TV entertainment. The home includes vinyl wood plank flooring throughout. Additional amenities include central AC. This property is managed by Vacasa Alabama LLC.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.

Dock details: Dock does not have electrical hookups.



Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

This was our 1st visit to Orange Beach and it was an amazing vacation!! We love the house and fished everyday off the dock. We had 3 manatees come to the dock our 1st day and have seen several dolphins at the dock. Thank you for the great memories!! We plan to come back.

Great View of the bay

Great bay bungalow. Comfortable and the AC works well. Don’t forget to pack your essentials for cooking like s/p , trash bags,disinfectant spray, laundry soap, and dishwasher soap. Quiet neighborhood .

Wedding Retreat

Orange Beach Family Vacation 2024

The home was absolutely beautiful. The view from both decks was phenomenal. Restaurants, shopping venues, and other places to visit is within a close range. Our vacation was absolutely peaceful. My family and I will be returning to this wonderful home in the future.

Was located in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful scenery. Loved waking up and strolling out onto the deck with my morning coffee and listening to waves crashing on rocks. Was able to see sunrise & sunset from the deck.

Great place to relax with a view.

Multiple outdoor seating/living areas to relax and enjoy the bay views and wildlife like pelicans, herons, and dolphin. Great dock. Shady lot with many oaks and magnolias. Quiet streets with no traffic the point!

Great Home for Boaters

The home was away from the hustle/bustle of being in a high-rise on the beach, yet affords boaters with great access to the water. The dock was recently redone and in great shape. House sits in a very quiet and well shaded area with expansive views of the Bay. If you are looking for an old-school experience where you can focus on being with your family, this is a fantastic place to do so.

Quiet end of Orange Beach. On the bay but the water off the pier appeared shallow. Would not recommend for anyone who wants to swim. Nice views for sure.

Serene beautiful property with plenty to do nearby

The house was very nice and clean. Great kitchen. The deck was the spot to be for watching the sunrise with coffee, reading, and great conversations with our friends. The neighborhood was safe and super friendly. Walking distance to a great bar/restaurant, The OSO. Your own white sand beach and awesome dock to watch the dolphins go by almost daily. All around great 2 week stay. We hope to find time to book this property again.

Nice property. Beautiful views. Primary TV has a line down the center of screen that was not resolved from a previous commenters review. There were spider webs in corners of the home in certain rooms.

Adorable Cottage on the Water

Everything was easy-peasy from Vacasa instructions, getting the lock code, and finding the house. The house was so adorable, furnished in vintage style which I love. Made it feel cozy and lived in. The house was clean and quiet. The dock was a real treat with pods of dolphins swimming close by and an egret now named "Charlie" that would fly in every time you went out with a fishing reel. He was well fed by the end of the trip.

Roach house!

GIANT ROACHES COME OUT AT NIGHT! EVEN IN BEDS! Property is managed by Vacasa and we could not get in touch with anyone the entire time that could help. We left the property at 2am on night 3 of our vacation and checked into a hotel.

Comfortable Coastal Cottage

We were pleasantly pleased with this quiet and relaxing home. We would gladly book this place again. The home is nestled in the shade of live oaks. The home has recently gone through a complete remodel and update. The back patio has a wonderful view of the bay. The dock and boardwalk are the stars of the show. The large covered dock has been completely restored with new decking, a fish cleaning station and running cold water. We spent many hours enjoying the dock. The covered part dock is quite large and comfortable. You may want to bring a powerful lantern if you want to get in some night fishing. Bring your rod and reel as we hooked some nice fish. If you enjoy crowds, noise and congestion this place is not for you.

Beach cottage

Wonderful little beach cottage. Quite location, right on the water. Great pier for fishing. Nice outside area with seating, picnic table and sand. Was advertised as a gas grill but was sad to see it was charcoal. There was no outside water to rinse sand off before entering the house. The light in the fridge and freezer was like a strobe light. We called an was told it could not be fixed without getting a new fridge. Just be aware if you have someone in your group that suffers from seizures. The living room furniture was very worn and hard for old bones to get up from, very low to the ground. It was advertised there was a DVD player so we brought movies but there was not a player that we found. We did enjoy our vacation. The home was easy to enter without steps at the front and only 3 steps and a very nice walkway down to the water. Our Granddaughter had a fun time swimming. Lots of boat traffic to watch and dolphins swam by every day. Located close to some yummy places to eat. Kitchen was very stocked if anyone wanted to cook.

Awesome house with room for improvement

We really liked the home as a whole. There was a lot of space and clean for the most part. The master bathroom was big and nice setup. You can’t beat the view from the backyard with the dock and patio. We enjoyed that a lot. There seems to be some details that could be worked out to make the place even better. For Instance, all the bedroom dresser drawers were really old and got stuck trying to pull them out and close them. The television had a line that went right through the center of the screen. Thankfully, we weren’t there to watch a lot of tv but I think that line would have prevented me from watching. Lastly, make sure to bring paper towels and dishwasher detergent if you stay for more than one night. We stayed for 4 nights and they only left one of each, which I found tacky.

Amazing location!

The absolute best part was the pier, deck and outside space by the water. Spent sunrises and late nights with a cool breeze out there. Kitchen is lovely and washer/dryer a nice amenity. Master bedroom and bathroom spacious. The negatives that need attention are: 1) roaches both dead and alive, 14 over the course of the week. 2) the sheets didn’t fit the beds. The master bed and one twin kept popping off because they are too small. The double bed is small for a couple and the sheet was square so didn’t fit properly. 3)Towels are quite old and worn and there were no beach towels. 4) the light in the refrigerator and freezer flashed contantly like a strobe light. 5) the furniture is quite old, not as fresh as the pictures show it. Having said all of that….. I would definitely rent this unit again, it just needs some extra attention. It can accommodate a family and you’ve got that pier…. Priceless!

Quiet and relaxing

We love the easy access to the home (no steps), shade trees for outside relaxation and easy access shower. Quiet area.
