Cozy Smith Lake Cabin with Flat Lot in Double Springs/Bankhead- Pet Friendly

This gorgeous cedar shake cabin will make you feel like you have stepped into the mountains. With all wood interior this cabin sleeps 10+ with its 3 bedrooms and upstairs loft. Enjoy the 2 large covered porches that overlook the year round water and grassy flat lot. Whether you are enjoying a glass of wine or cup of coffee, the upstairs porch bed swing and sound of the water will wash all of your cares away. Upstairs Queen Bedroom has attached bath and downstairs basement has 2 Queen bedrooms with shared bath. Though the inside den and kitchen are small you will want to enjoy all of your time on the large covered porches or private dock. Please note that like most lake homes this home is 15 minutes down a dirt road and 30 minutes from gas and grocery. A list of basic necessities will be provided as well as things to make sure you pick up will be given. It is nestled in the middle of a large hunting property and Bankhead Forest so sit back and enjoy the ride and look out for deer and turkey:) This home also provides 2 double kayaks, triple kayak as well as a peddle boat and corn hole. There is also a private boat launch on this property but can only be used in the spring/summer due to the water levels of Smith Lake. There is year round water but of course like all Smith Lake properties the water is down significantly in the fall/winter. Boat launch in summer is ideal for small ski boats and fishing boats. Large pontoon boats would need to use Clear Creek or Duncan Marina to launch. This home is less than 5 minutes by boat to Clear Creek. If you are looking for a day of adventure or a hiking enthusiast this home is not far from the Sipsey Wilderness and the amazing waterfalls and hiking trails for all levels.

Fantastic stay!

The property has everything. Loved the Blackstone grill, the beds are super comfortable and the bed porch swing. Will be staying again in the summer to enjoy the water.

Great time

This was perfect for our family. We have 2 boys 3 and 6 years old and they had a blast building camp fires, fishing, kayaking, and boating. We will definitely be back!

Very Relaxing

The cabin is very very nice and well stocked. We had coffee on the upper deck every morning and watched the the beautiful sunrises. This is a great place for families with plenty of room. We loved it!

Family Vacation

We had a fantastic time at this remote property with great lake access for boating, fishing, and kayaking. Our party ranged from 8-79 years old and we all had a fun time! We had plenty of space and everything we needed.

Great weekend

4 nights was perfect getaway! Property is very peaceful (especially in late October) with no one else around. Road in is long and dusty so be prepared to dust off or keep belongings in the vehicle. Recommend a SUV or truck s the last little stretch of road is rough. Overall we highly recommend!

Great property

This is our second stay at this property and we really enjoyed it. It’s well stocked and comfortable. It has a nice balcony terrace facing the lake, a firepit, a dock to swim off and no steep stairs to get there, kayaks, lounge chairs, a TV with cable and really everything we ever need. The owner is very accommodating and easy to communicate with.

Beautiful but extreme remoteness

All was very good except for the extremely long drive on the extremely bumpy gravel road, be very careful once you actually get to the house, (road condition). Beautiful view of lake.

Cute cabin!

The cabin is very cute. Someone with children this is great! It is not secluded. It has a neighbor within 20 feet of you and the porches are facing each other. If you like privacy, it’s not the place. The place is just cute with plenty to do. But the house next door that close is a deal breaker for privacy.

Sister Retreat

The rustic cabin is in a remote area with an amazing view and access to the lake. It is not conducive to individuals with limited mobility. The access road is very challenging especially for cars, it’s best suited for SUVs or trucks. The dock and fire pit made our stay even more enjoyable.

Fun with Family

this was a great place for family to meet, the view of the water is perfect, we loved it, two sisters with a granddaughter 15 & her dad , nephew,fished off the pier, & visited one night, then my oldest son cooked one night for my husband & I on the blackstone grill, he should have been a chef, we would love to visit again sometime, we had a couple days by ourselves, Nikki has the best stocked place we have rented & we have stayed in many places in several states,thank you Nikki

Wonderful place

Only giving 5 stars because I can't give it 10! This is a remote private secluded wonderful escape from reality. Not your typical hectic lake property. Just what I needed. Wonderful hosts also. Very quick to reply to any questions.

Everything was perfect! The house was great and the lake never disappoints. Boat ramp is a little tricky especially if you have a big boat. We have a 21ft ski boat and we made it work. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks Nicki!!

Secluded Lakeside Getaway with Perfect Privacy and Endless Activities

We had an incredible stay at this lake house, perfectly nestled in a peaceful cove of Smith Lake. The location is well off the beaten path, offering great seclusion and privacy, which made it a perfect retreat. However, keep in mind that there are no stores or gas stations for many miles, so it’s best to plan ahead! We enjoyed kayaking, swimming, and fishing, and even rented a boat for our last two days, which made the trip even more memorable. The house was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. This was a special trip for us, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking to create lasting memories in a peaceful, secluded setting!

Birthday Get Away

This is a beautiful quiet lake house! It was just what we needed to get away for a week. Everything was well stocked. Kitchen had everything we need to cook our meals. Owners had provided what we needed for the weather for we had both warm days and cold! Firewood was much appreciated. Owner took time and promptly answered the many questions I had both prior to and arriving at the lake. We will most definitely plan another trip here!

Beautiful lake house and getaway

This was the first time we book a lake house to stay in and it was an amazing experience. The place was beautiful and had plenty of room for the whole family. The private boat ramp was definitely a plus!!!! The place was very clean. My only suggestion would be to not put anything in the fridge down stairs that you dnt want to freeze. It’s like a super fridge and will even freeze beer in the bottom part. But overall I will definitely be staying here again!!!

Outside - Dirty, grass not cut back from property so we had snakes, weed killer containers and gas can left where kids could get to them, NO KAYAKS, dock ladder broken and not usable, fire pit full of weeds so not usable, ants/spiders and bees were bad.....Inside - floors, table, island, counters, bedside tables dirty. No light in fridge, dishes missing, no towels or washcloths, many spides downstairs and none of the deadbolts locked! We were able to fix the deck ladder. We did did find the towels still in the dryer and we did find the dishes still in the dish washer. I swept and vacuumed the whole place. I also weeded the fire pit so we could use it. We also temporarily fixed the dock ladder so we could use it. This was our 2nd time to this property. The 1st time it was wonderful but it was not worth the trip this time. The drive in is horrible and a normal car will NOT MAKE IT THERE.
1st floor. Living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom and bathroom. This is what I cleaned off the floor when I got there.
Bottom level. 2 bedrooms, bathroom and entry way. This is what I cleaned up when I got there.

What a great experience

Let me start by saying the pics don't do this property justice. The house was much larger than I expected and well stocked. The views of the lake are stunning. Unlike a lot of lake properties, this property has a functional yard that goes down to the water instead of a cliff. The fire pit outside and the fireplace inside were perfect for the cool weather. It was the perfect spring break staycation get away for me, my son and our dogs. The hosts were always quick to respond to any question I had. As a matter of fact, several of my Facebook friends were so impressed with the pics, they asked for the listing. We will definitely be back!

Amazing!

Saying my fiances stay and mine was amazing at this place just doesn't do it justice!! It's exactly as pictured! We had so much fun! Wether we were swimming, fishing, fishing in the kayaks, or making a fire and s'mores. We literally had a blast! It is down a dirt road but it really isn't that bad! The only thing I would say is that keep a look out for snakes, which I think is a given since you are on the lake in their environment. Nikki does allow pets which was really great for us since we have to fur babies! We are definitely going to be booking another Vaca with her! Also she was great with communication and she was quick to respond!

World best stay!

I can't even begin to explain the beauty of this property. The drive in is a little ruff but I promise it's worth it so just get supplies on way in if u prefer. They had canoes and a two person paddle boat in great shape. Beautiful porches. Lots of space. Excellent neighbors. We made some special friends in short time there. We had a magical time. Enjoy having one of your own here. I think u will find out some things are worth the trip everytime.love... ask of everytime and I'll tell u we loved it.

Family Vacation

The house is a very nice place to stay. Very clean on the inside but the porches where we liked to hang out had a few too many spider webbs. Just needed a good pressure washing. It was very easy to make contact with the owners. They were quick to respond with answers to any questions. The road getting to the property is rough. We had our boat with us and it was extremely difficult to get the boat down that road. Definitely recommend putting in at clear creek if you have a boat any larger than a small aluminum boat. The boat launch at the house is also very narrow and steep with a tight turn, so also not good for a boat any larger than a small fishing boat. It is 40 min to any town, store, or restaurant which is what we wanted until we needed a part for our boat. There is no quick trip to get anywhere. Overall it was a good trip and we enjoyed the house. We would definitely stay there again if we were not bringing our boat.
