"Steidl Hands" Riverfront Condo-No Better Place in Bend

Welcome to Steidl Hands. We have all you need to enjoy anything from a short weekend getaway to a full stay of a week if you like! We offer everything you could want or need while on a trip away from home.

This second floor unit has a beautiful view over looking the Deschutes River that runs through central Oregon. This unit offers 2 queen beds for a total of 4 guests staying. The private bedroom offers their own bed and bath, and then the main area has a Murphy bed that can fold up into the wall for more space if need be. This unit will also offer a beautiful fireplace to keep you cozy and warm on those snowy winter nights. Plus there is a full kitchen at your disposal for the Rachel Ray or Gordon Ramsey of your group!

All of our guests will also have access to a heated indoor pool and hot tub! There's a laundry room on site available for our guest to use as well. This unit is pet-friendly. We allow a maximum of two pets and collect a pet fee of $50 + tax per pet separately after you make your reservation.

Basic cable will be provided in the rooms, that means your basic set up of analog channels. You are, however, most certainly welcome to bring your own streaming device, all tv's in our units are flat screen with HDMI hook ups. (HDMI cords not included in room)

We would definitely stay here again. We loved how close the condo was to downtown and the view of the river from the balcony was so nice! The only negative we had was the carpet was really dirty. It could probably use a replacement. The bed was comfortable though and it was nice to have the murphy bed as well. It was awesome to have two full bathrooms and the air conditioning worked perfectly! This condo has a lot of space and even has a large vanity area with a chair. Thank you for making this a memorable stay for us!

Pros: Location was convenient! Roomy. Sound of river was great! Cons: For the price, I expected better honestly. Floors were dirty so we vacuumed before we unpacked. Hair and dirt on bath floors, white shower curtain orange on bottom and stinky, really needing a wash and bleaching! Tacks on metals floor strips sticking up and cut foot so then we kept shoes on. Dining chair had broken back. Couch was old and no support, so cushions sunk in. I had to keep the door open to hear the river to drown out the clinching of the refrigerator. It was so loud and made it hard to sleep.

The ambiance by the spillway allowed me to drink my coffee and tea with the sound of flowing water. The people around us for the most part were thoughtful, minus the occasional marijuana odor. The living space itself appeared clean. It’s dated & smells older. Opening the windows allowed for that smell to be less offensive. The amount of dander affected the entire family. We covered the couch with towels which helped, but still needed to take allergy meds, plus remove the comforters. When we left the room our allergy symptoms were relieved. As soon as we got back into the room we started sneezing miserably and heading to our saline spray and tissues. If we go back, we will take our allergen spray.

Steidle Hands

It was a good stay with lots of room. Nice if you’re in town for a few nights. Close to lots and quick drive to Mt Bach. Wish they would update the fridge so it wasn’t so loud, and also a map of the property to locate the laundry easier/or a big sign for people in that first unit.

Reasonable price for a good location

Spent a week in Bend visiting our son. Good location within walking distance of downtown along the Deschutes. Kitchen was adequate to make breakfast and dinner. Small coffee pot. Beds were a little soft.

A great place

The property had all of the amenities as described! The place is slightly dated and smelled a bit musty. However the view was nice and the proximity to all things in this part of Bend was great!

Not very clean and needs lots of updates!

The main shower only had cold water. Luckily, it was hot out, so it was ok, but, I’m sure other guests will expect a working shower. Also, the master shower had hot water, so since it was just me and my husband, we made it work. Under the fridge looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for some time, and the carpets were so dirty we had to use the vacuum in the closet and vacuum them ourselves. Also, either the bedding wasn’t washed or just heavily stained. Luckily, I brought a quilt from house and used the top sheet from the 2nd bed to cover the master bed and used our quilt as our top blanket, we felt like the sheets in the master were too dirty to sleep in. Which is kinda a bummer when you plan to be on vacation trying to relax and don’t feel comfortable in the bed. Also, the mattress definitely needs a replacement. Our backs were pretty sore after our 5 nights.

Great week in Riverside

Steidl Hands was great. Clean, well stocked, convenient for dog, great location right on river-walk. Pool/hot tub were very nice after day of skiing. We'll be back, as long as our son lives in Bend. 👍

Riverside Bend

Location, location... walk out front fdoor to Pioneer Park, trails along Deschutes River and downtown Bend. Or, choose to cozy up next to fire and watch life flow by peacefully amongst river, Marmots and wildlife. Location superior to property amenties but everything you need for wonderful time in Bend!

Smoky week

We love Bend and the condo was fine but trip cut short due to smoke. Will get insurance next time. Also, there were no knives in the condo. Got them eventually from the front desk.

Mixed bag

The overall impression of the condo is that it is quite dated. The cleanliness of the unit left something to be desired because of large stains on carpet, dog fur on couch and coffee table, and a lot of pollen on the balcony table. The unit is quiet, located about 100' from the Deschutes River, and has a well-appointed kitchen. The kitchen cabinets are very cheap - looks like particle board that someone painted over. The bottom of the refrigerator is missing, all adding to a shabby appearance. The beds were comfortable. The toilets were really low to the ground and of the old round type (i.e. not elongated, more evidence of how dated the unit is). Our stay was still good because of the condo's proximation to the Deschutes River, all the shops along Wall St., and a nice drive into Sisters.

Fantastic location!

My dog and I enjoyed being able to walk the Deschutes River Trail, which was just steps away! We also appreciated the big porch overlooking the river, which was very peaceful. We had everything we needed for our stay and had a great time!

Wonderful River front

This is a nice place because of the view. We enjoyed watching the Yellow Bellied Marmots graze on the grass outside our balcony.
