Welcome to The Retreat! This charming home is nestled on one acre within Grand Casino grounds. The home offers so many different types of stays.... from golf, casino nights, scrapbooking events, crafting weekends, or just a fun weekend get-away. Please reach out to us before booking regarding rates or any events that include more than the 18 maximum capacity.

The event room is large enough for scrapbooking, quilting, large dinners, board games, and so much more!

Home is located on the 9th Tee of Grand National Golf Course.

Grand Casino is one mile away.

Close to St. Croix State Park.

There are a total of 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. All bedrooms have twin beds and some are able to combine 2 twins into a king-size bed.

Large private deck overlooking the golf course and surrounding woods.

Annual Golf Trip

The house was perfect for our group. It was located on a golf course which was the main reason for our getaway. The house was clean and there were lots of amenities available. We would not hesitate to book this house again for our next trip!

Great facility for our family to reunite, everyone had a great time.

The property was great, We did not use all area's but whar we did worked for us. The only comment I would make is the outdoor lightening could have been better. If you ever renovate, a shower on the first floor would have been a plus. Plenty of bathrooms and clean beds for all. Everyone said they woud choose this place again if we came for a family event. Thank you

Great place to stay (Esp. for craft groups)

Overall we had a great stay at this property. The very large group room was not designed super well for a cozy family type setting however if you were doing scrapbooking, quilting or any other group type activity this room would be amazing! We enjoyed the home and I give it 5 stars (when we arrived there was an odd odor like a skunk in the group room but after airing it out for like 36 hours it was fine and I assume was a fluke for this location).

Family reunion

We gathered at one our relatives home about 15 minutes away. The house was great. There were 10 of us. We had plenty of space. We enjoyed the deck and the firepit. We also used the spacious event room for a jigsaw puzzle and just hanging out! I'll definitely stay here again!!

Clean, organized, with plenty of space for indoor activities

Stayed with a group of 14 adults. We played boardgames all weekend in the large craft room, which was amazing. The house was very well maintained, clean, and stocked with various niceties to make your stay easy. Overall a great place to stay. Our primary critique was the beds, these are all normal twin beds, so anyone over 6 foot is going to be very uncomfortable sleeping in them. They were relatively comfortable though if you fit. Other than that, there are a lot of rules / notes / expectations listed for how the place should be cleaned and maintained, which is fine, but on top of the $400 cleaning fee it seemed a little excessive.

Together Time = Priceless

Great property, very responsive host. We were there with 3 generations, with the youngest generation mostly teens. In the big room, we played board games, colored, laughed at family videos from the 1980s and 90s, and played ping-pong (bought a cheap portable net/set). It was great to have a place we could all hang out together anytime! Outside, we played frisbee, catch, and hide and seek. Offsite, we hiked in St. Croix state park, kayaked the river dividing Minnesota and Wisconsin, and spent a day in Duluth (FinnFest was going on there)! Only one in our party golfed, and we all met him on the 9th hole tee box by the yard, so fun! He recommends renting the golf cart that is a Finn scooter (looked like a golf motorcycle to me)!

Annual Golf Outing - 24 people

Facility worked perfect for our larger than normal group. We did have a camper to sleep some of the group, the facility housed everyone on the decks in addition to a large gathering room. Bathrooms and beds were sufficient to handle the group.

Hinckley Weekend

This property was incredible, and absolutely perfect for our group. The large gathering space was ideal for setting out meals, and was big enough for all of us to hangout inside together. There were also plenty of spaces in the house if we did want to break off into smaller groups. The kitchen is fully equipped and very nicely updated. Even in very hot weather, the temperature inside the house stayed very comfortable.

Girls Weekend

This was the perfect house for our group! The huge room, with all the tables, gave us plenty of space to play games, talk and eat! The house was well stocked with items that were needed. We loved it! ❤️

Great place for a guy's golf weekend

Great place to hang out with friends. Lots of beds / bedrooms to accommodate large groups and the living area was nice for hanging out. Would recommend!
