As a licensed real estate agency in France, we must comply with French regulations governing holiday rentals. After a booking is confirmed on Vrbo, the platform transfers the reservation management to the local agency. We are therefore responsible for issuing the rental contract, collecting payments, verifying the required documents and assisting guests throughout their stay. We understand that this process may differ from what some guests expect. The tourist tax is set by the local authorities and collected separately, in accordance with French law. The 2% credit card processing fee and our optional ADAR insurance are clearly disclosed during the booking process. Finally, we were a little surprised that your review did not mention Villa Menthon Heights itself, particularly its spectacular panoramic views over Lake Annecy, its exceptional location and the unique experience it offers.
