Private newly remodeled cozy cabin near Watauga Lake. A covered porch with a swing and rocking chairs to enjoy nature. A fire pit to sit around roasting marshmallows, enjoying life and nature. An electric fireplace to warm you up. This cabin is .5 miles from Watauga Lake Beach. We have covered parking for your boat at the cabin. Enjoy all the activities on the lake or if you don’t have a boat you can Rent one at the nearby marina’s or take a guided fishing trip. There are some of the best down home southern cooking restaurants close by. Visit the Watauga dam. The cabin is .5 miles from Laurel Falls Hiking. Enjoy hiking the Blue Hole waterfalls in Elizabethton TN and the beautiful Elk River Falls in Banner Elk NC. Take a beautiful drive on the Tweetsie R.R. Trail in Hampton TN. Come enjoy the Bristol Races. We are 31 miles to Beach Mountain and 37 miles to skiing at Boone NC, 2 hour drive to Dollywood, 20 miles to Johnson city. 20 minutes to Roan Mountain. Visit the town where Popcorn Sutton made his moonshine, “Copperhead Road” was an actual road near Mountain City that is near by.

The house had not been cleaned well at all. I had to clean the bathroom and kitchen the first night we were there. The owner was apologetic and refunded my cleaning fee. He asked his normal cleaning crew to come during our stay, but she never arrived. The house smelled like dogs. The living room and one bedroom was very unpleasant. I think the furniture needs to be replaced or deep cleaned.

The commode was way to low for the older people in our day of life it really needs to be a higher seating toilet so you don’t have to fight to get off the seat of the toilet!! But everything thing else was awesome!! Thank you for the great place to stay !!!

Cabin was super cute, lake is close by, perfect place, stayed here for our daughter’s softball tournament in Johnson City. Tony was very accommodating when we had to arrive a day early!

Cabin for hiking the Appalachian Trail

This was our second stay. The cabin is great. Clean and comfortable. It is an ideal location for a base camp to hike many sections of the AT. We use Boots Off Hostel less than a mile down the road to shuttle us to and from various trail heads.The host is very quick to answer questions. The outside porches are wonderful for relaxing. Watauga lake is just down the road and there are several attractions near by if you want to do other activities.

Had everything except peace and quiet

The cabin and all amenities were good. It is located on a very busy highway that is on a downslope. There’s a lot of traffic especially heavy truck traffic that use Jacob brakes when descending the hill and are extremely loud. The cabin has a beautiful front porch with a swing, but it is less than 150 feet from the road, and can’t be enjoyed because of the noise. Everything else was great.

AT Hiking Trip

Three hiking buddies stayed here for three days section hiking the AT. The location of the cabin is great for accessing several trail heads. Just down the road from Boots Off Hostel who we used for our shuttles to the trails. (Great Service)The cabin was perfect. Very clean. Great outside deck areas. Cabin had everything we needed. Nicely decorated and very comfortable. The host was quick to respond to our questions. We loved it and have booked again for another hiking weekend!

Not worth the price

We were expecting a place in the woods near the river. This place is next to a busy road, the yard is small and there was no river in sight. I was constantly worried about my dogs getting out and running into the road. The house was fine but not worth what we paid. We left early.

Gross Cabin

This cabin was misrepresented in the description and pictures on the Vrbo app. Shame on you for allowing this dirty and disgusting property to allowed in your app. I wish I could upload all of my pictures to save future guests the trouble of arriving to garbage in the fire pit, the rusty and filthy grill, the moldy deck and steps and the dirty kitchen. Most of all I wish I could allow everyone a deep breath of the disgusting smell that permeated the entire cabin. I would give this location zero stars if allowed. Please reconsider your relationship with this host.

Cute place

We had a good stay there was a small plumbing issue but Tony was all over it and had it fixed before we returned from the lake. We traveled with our two service dogs and one got I'll and had to be rushed to the vet so we did not get to check out properly. Tony was totally understanding and easy to work with. I would recommend this last cation and proprietor.

Watagua Hideaway

The cabin was great. Had everything you would need. Loved the fire pit. Everything was close, caves, boating, swimming, and hiking. Would definitely go back again.

Overall good stay

The positives were that the place was clean, nice location, good communication with owner, served its purpose for the week. The opportunities are that an air conditioning unit in the second bedroom would help, there were ants but that's what happens in these kinds of places, the pillows on the beds were not comfortable, the bathroom is very small and the hot water tank is good for about 1 and 1/2 showers before it goes cold. Locationwise there is a McDonald's and dunkin' donuts about 5 minutes away.

Perfect private and cozy

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect for the two of us. It was cozy, clean, and convenient to fish spring marina( like 4 min) , and it’s definitely private. Only suggestion I have is add some mixing bowls. We cooked our own dinner, but had no bowls to put things in… ( unless I missed it?) Overall- this is exactly as it looked, we loved it, we will be back. Tony was amazing, answered questions right away.. Thanks for a great stay Tony!
