Newly built, free-standing cottage in the heart of upscale Kensington. The cottage includes a private outdoor patio, kitchen, walk-in closet and laundry room, very large bathroom and a combination dining room and living room. The cottage was professionally designed and with high end fixtures and fittings. It is furnished with a queen-sized bed, a sofa that can convert to a single bed, a desk and dining table. Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 31 days.

I can not say enough good things about our stay at Bernard's wonderful cottage. They were the MOST wonderful host - the cottage was in fantastic shape (just as described) and they truly made our son feel like family while he was there. We can not wait to go back and visit!

Best Vacation Rental

This was a wonderful vacation rental. Bernard had everything we needed and more. He was a delight to deal with. Location is beautiful and rental was spotless and comfortable. I will definitely stay again next time I’m in San Diego.

Very Nice Stay

Had a great time in this cute little cottage Neighborhood is stellar...great walking distance to Kensington District. Host greeted us when we arrived and gave us a very informative tour of the property. Follow up communication was prompt. Great place to spend a few quiet days

Perfect central location

Bernard has everything on point. The location is central to get anywhere within 15 mins. We needed a clean place to sleep and wash up and this spot was perfect. You cannot get a hotel for cheaper and the full kitchen is a nice bonus.

Loved the cottage!

This was my first experience with a VRBO rental and it was wonderful! Not only was the property and location great but Bernard was as well. The cottage has everything you could need. The bed was comfortable and I slept better on this trip than any other I have taken in the past. I would definitely stay again when I am in the area!

Outstanding Property and Host.

This is a new and beautiful cottage in a quiet residential San Diego neighborhood. Very comfortable and inviting with a spacious bathroom and well equipped kitchen. Bernard was a most considerate, thoughtful, and gracious host.

Fantastic little cottage

I very much enjoyed my stay at this cottage. It was extremely clean! It was modern and had everything one would need whether it be a one night stay or a week. Bernard was very pleasant and willing to help with any questions or needs. You can tell they have put a lot of thought and care into making this a very pleasant and welcoming place. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

An absolute gem in San Diego

Extremely satisfied with my 3 day stay, the host is very friendly and accommodating. The property is brand new and perfect if you are working remotely. The space has been equipped with everything you could possibly need whether on vacation or for business. I will definitely stay here again when in San Diego, it's also located in a perfect area so you're pretty much 15 minutes or less away from Downtown, Balboa Park and everything else San Diego has to offer.

College move-in weekend

Moving kid into SDSU this week and the cottage was perfect! Great location near the campus and centrally located for the multiple last minute shopping trips. Area restaurants were all delicious (ate at at least 4), the patio was great for both breakfast and an evening cocktail to process all the emotions, and the host was very gracious with a few extra treats for our stay. Glad to have found a great place to stay, and may have to coordinate our future trips based upon availability!

The best!

Everything about this place was perfect! It is so clean and the attention to detail for any guest was on target. Everything you could possibly need for your stay is provided. We wish we could have stayed longer it was so comfortable. The neighborhood is beautiful and so quiet and very safe. There were people out walking all the time and yet it also has easy access to the highway for getting all over the San Diego area. We hope to have the opportunity to stay here again soon and highly recommend Bernard and his Beautiful place.

Home away from home!

No expense spared to accommodate a comfortable stay. Every detail was thought out to ensure you have a great visit. Traveling can sometimes be stressful but we were worry free. Bernard was a great host and provides a warm welcome, quiet street, and very clean cottage. This spot is nestled in a chic neighborhood. You won't be disappointed but if you don't stay you will miss out! We will be back.

Cozy spot in Kensington

I stayed at this amazing little spot for 5 days while visiting San Diego and it was well worth it! Bernard is a gracious host and has provided everything you'd need for an extended trip. It is a newer rental and everything was modern, automated, comfortable, and allowed me to kick off my shoes and relax. I hope it is available the next time I visit because I'd definitely stay here again. Thanks for the cookies Bernard!

Best cottage in Kensington

We have stayed in several Kensington VRBOs. This is the best. Beautifully decorated. Comfortable bed. New appliances. Everything necessary for a pleasant stay. Plenty of information provided in a notebook and in thoughtfully placed note cards. A little farther from the Adams Avenue restaurants than other places we have stayed but certainly still walkable. Very helpful and pleasant owner.

Your Own Private Ritz-Carlton

We arrived to be greeted with a smile in the front yard by our host, who welcomed us warmly and gave us a quick but thorough run down of our accommodations. Upon entering, we found a "Happy Birthday" cake and a bottle of champagne in the fridge, as well as many other snacks and refreshments. We noticed right away how clean everything was, and the first 24 hours was a steady stream of discovery of all the little details that had been thought of and included - every utensil, pot, pan, towel...even potholders. The decor throughout was modern and inviting, and lent to an upscale resort feel while also feeling perfectly homey. Our host was never intrusive, but stayed in contact just enough to make sure whether we needed snacks, refreshments, or anything else restocked. We truly felt like honored guests and not just temporary tenants. We will definitely try to stay here again on our next San Diego visit.

Knockout in Kensington

First, I really don’t want to write my review about this property because if I do it justice it will never be available! Beautiful space…. Just as described… maybe even better. Private, safe (as a woman traveling alone), and quiet… felt like home immediately. This probably had more to do Bernard and Joe, the hosts. Bernard is the primary host and his attention to detail and responsiveness to any inquiries were 5+ stars. I felt that he truly had my comfort and ease in mind. I was there through a difficult family time and the kindness I received only added to my experience. The space is also set up ideally if one wishes to work….can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you Bernard and Joe!

Great Location and beautiful cottage

I've stayed in a number of rentals around the country and this was by far the best property I've stayed at. I was in San Diego for a week conducting interviews all around San Diego and this location is perfect for accessing any location/attraction in the area. The owners are friendly and accomodating. The bed is very comfortable and at 6'4" my back requires a good bed. I was able to pack light because of the in unit washer/dryer along with iron and ironing board. Kensington is a nice little community with plenty of restaurants/grocery. I did a mix of eating out and cooking in. The kitchen is well stocked and you will be able to prepare whatever you desire. The nights are very quiet here and the neighborhood is great for walking. I don't typically type out reviews, so in summary, if you are having any doubts, just stay here! You won't be disappointed.

5 Star Cottage equals 5 Star Hosts!!!!!

I had the pleasure of staying 7 weeks at what I consider a 5 Star Cottage. This cottage had everything I needed and more. The refrigerator was stocked with bottles water, coke, diet coke and coffee creamer. There were also an array of snacks that were always replenished. The convenience of having not only a washer and dryer in the cottage, the laundry soap and dryer sheets were also provided! There are just too many amenities to list. The hosts, Bernard and Joe were absolutely fabulous always checking in to see if I needed anything and how could they make my stay even better! They also have two tiny adorable dogs named Ollie and Sofia. I enjoyed a couple of dinners with Bernard and Joe and when it was time for me to leave, I felt like I was leaving family. I can't thank Bernard and Joe enough for their wonderful day-to-day hospitality. I look forward to my next stay at the cottage in the Fall. Thanks again. Debbie - Buckeye, Arizona

Amazing Cottage!

We (my husband, myself and our 16 yr old daughter) stayed at the Cottage in Kensington over Christmas weekend. It was very close to some of our family, and we really enjoyed it! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left 3 days later; our experience was fantastic! Bernard has thought of everything to make the cottage perfectly set up. It's immaculately clean and well equipped. The snacks and coffee were wonderful and much appreciated! We even caught a couple football games on the tv. We all slept well. Bernard's attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We felt very safe here and so well taken care of! We hope to be back again one day! Thank you so much Bernard for your 5-star hospitality! :)

My son and I had a great experience staying at this location. It’s a perfect little cottage in a perfect little neighborhood with super easy access to the freeway. A place to come “Home” to after a busy day!

Kensington cottage is a welcomed retreat! It has a darling, private, delightfully designed little courtyard with umbrella table and chairs , & unique plantings. We had morning coffee and cribbage games in the evening outside. Inside is a modern comfortable home with all the amenities you need and beyond our expectations! Bernard was so helpful and attentive with our needs. It was as if we were staying with one of our favorite family relatives! We are so thankful to have found this lovely cottage and look forward to our next visit!
