Welcome to Over Water Bungalow « TAHATAI ITI » your vacation paradise in Bora Bora!
This very exclusive over water bungalow overlooks the crystal blue waters of the lagoon and offers incredible romantic sunsets as well as a lot of privacy making it the perfect spot for both honeymooners and families.
This unique over water bungalow (1200 square-foot -110 m2) is part of a famous luxury complex started by the famous American actors Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson. There are only 5 privately owned over water bungalows in Bora Bora. 2 out of the 5 were the property of Marlon Brando, another one was the property of his very good friend Jack Nicholson and our over water bungalow is next to the one that Jack Nicholson used to own.

Our over water bungalow accomodation includes 2 bedrooms with air conditioning and with their own separate bathroom, a modern full kitchen fit for a chef, a spacious living room and a large covered terrace-lanai overlooking the lagoon.

Enjoy the placid waters of the lagoon with its extraordinary colourful tropical fish allowing endless snorkeling in turquoise and pristine warm waters! If you wish to take a dip in the warm waters, nothing could be simpler. Just go down to your private dock and dive in.
Our over water bungalow is the perfect location for snorkeling and swimming and the bungalow comes with 3 kayaks.

Tahiti, the port of entry of French Polynesia is linked by non stop scheduled flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, NZ, Japan, Hawaii, Australia and with one stop to Paris and most european cities. From Tahiti, a 45-minute-flight takes you to Bora Bora.
There are 2 domestic airline companies in French Polynesia: Air Tahiti and Air Moana. Both airlines link Tahiti with Bora Bora. You can directly book your flights online on their dedicated website.

The plane from Tahiti lands in Bora Bora on motu mute, an offshore islet.Then a free shuttle brings you across the lagoon to Vaitape, Bora Bora's main village. On the wharf in Vaitape, you will pick up your rental car and drive in 15 minutes to our house.

Car rental
Because there is no public transport service on Bora Bora, you need to rent a car to be independant on the island during your stay . It is essential to go shopping, to go to the restaurant or to visit Bora Bora. You can directly book your rental car online on AVIS car rental company website which is the most reliable car rental company in Bora Bora. I don't recommend renting an electric car because there are no electric charging points near the parking lot of our house. I also don't recommend renting scooters because they are not powerful enough to get to our upper parking lot and it is very difficult to carry your food purchase on a scooter to the house.

I cannot say enough good things about this place, Pierre and the whole experience renting this bungalow.I have been using VRBO for almost 20 years. Pierre was one of the most helpful owners. His communication was excellent and very thorough with plenty of thoughtful tips on how to make the most of your stay in Bora Bora.My friends and I were so pleased with the information and the location is great.There are some really healthy corals right off the deck and a really precautious octopus living around one of the pillars of the bungalow.

We had a great time in Bora Bora. The condo was as listed and was excellent!! We enjoyed snorkeling just off the deck in some of the most beautiful waters in the world. The condo provided all we needed and was a great home base to do excursions and exploring. We would definitely go back.

The Bungalow was perfect. Beautiful views, we were able to snorkel off the deck, kayak in the water, had amazing sunset views. This place has all the amenities you need. Pierre was so helpful and gave good recommendations. Perfect to relax.

An unbelievable stay in a stunning location. We loved lounging on the deck and snorkelling in the lagoon. The bungalow was spotless and comfortable. It was peaceful and perfect, and honestly much more appealing than the commercialized resorts. It was a trip of a lifetime for us, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have stayed here.

Needs Some Repair

This over-the-water bungalow is really quaint, located in northern Bora Bora. While the location and the view are fantastic, the bungalow itself is somewhat dated and in need of some repair. The thatched roof was worn and in need of replacement. There was some green mold growing on the inside of the thatched ceiling. The mold was visible in the living room. We noticed a lot of mosquitoes inside the unit, especially near the kitchen and bathrooms. At first, we thought someone had left the windows open. But then we noticed the soffits were completely open to the outside. The soffits were not screened off to prevent mosquitoes and bees from entering the bungalow. We were constantly swatting mosquitoes, getting bites and killing bees. As a result, we kept the windows and sliders closed the entire stay.You could stand in the living room and look up to the loft and spot the hole in the roof. I believe this is how a bird flew in and out of the bungalow. The screens above the living room were very dirty, clogged with debris and bugs. We also noticed that some of the floorboards were loose and wobbled under your feet. We could also feel the entire bungalow sway during high tide. While snorkeliing, I observed one of the underwater pillars appeared to be broken and displaced.

Overwater bungalow on main island.

Great location, plenty of kitchen appliances and utensils. No screens on sliding doors or windows not allowing to open and let in ocean breeze. Pictures of bungalow were accurate. Needs new cushions on deck furniture.

Private slice of heaven

We absolutely loved our stay here. It was such an idyllic setting. It was so clean and there were so many thoughtful touches. A great over-water option at a great price!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the over-water bungalow. It is fun jumping right in the water from the bungalow. The owner, Pierre, is super responsive. The rooms are very nice and clean. We highly recommend staying here!

Perfect Getaway

I could only wish that all VRBO owners were like Pierre. He had everything organized and detailed about arriving, departure and everything in-between. The bungalow was perfect for my wife, daughter and I. We snorkled and kayaked almost everyday. You really cant ask for a much better place in Bore Bora. Thank you Pierre for a wonderful experience!

Magnificent with a Fine Tahitian Touch

Stunning views from a well laid out overwater bungalow. Well equipped residence with beautiful photos and artwork of Tahitian individuals. One could snorkel right off the bungalow dock itself, if desired. Convenient location not far from Vaitape on one side of the island and Matira Beach on the other side. The bathrooms are a little tight, especially for tall people, but otherwise a great property.

Perfect OWB for a family

We stayed for 7 nights and found this bungalow perfect for our family of four. The washer and dryer and kitchen were so useful during our stay. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the deck over the water a dream to chill out on. The bungalow is beautifully decorated and furnished so much more than what you get at a resort. Pierre’s communication was very detailed and efficient in every way

Beautiful Bora Bora Bungalow

Looking for an authentic over water bungalow without spending thousands per night at a motu resort? Pierre’s Villa Tahatai Iti is the place. It has everything you will need for a spectacular Bora Bora vacation. We especially enjoyed eating meals on the deck watching the myriad of boats passing by. The sensation of living right on the lagoon is hypnotizing. Pierre provides the most precise information about the villa and the island I have ever seen during many years renting private vacation properties. His restaurant and activity recommendations are spot on. We especially enjoyed exploring the lagoon on a pontoon boat rented from Le Plage at unbelievably beautiful Matira Beach. We are so thankful to have experienced the real Bora Bora by staying at Pierre’s over water bungalow.

Tahitian Dream on Bora Bora

25th Anniversary spent with my wife and two adult children (17 & 20). Pierre's bungalow could not have been more perfect. The flexibility to do nothing, or everything (full kitchen) was so nice to have the choice. The spacious condo gave us room to enjoy every minute. We stepped off the private dock into the water to see Eagle Rays, a Green Moray Eel, an Octopus and several beautiful fish. A wonderful vacation; we have and will recommend this condo to anyone.

Bora Bora condo

The property was everything and more as per the description and our expectations. Pierre is an excellent host. The condo is very modern in terms of its amenities. The information supplied for our stay went above and beyond. We enjoyed the sunsets and observing the species of fish that came around in the evening and early morning. Could not have asked for a better experience in our stay.

This place was perfect for our one week stay in Bora Bora. The home is so beautiful and being over the water was magical. We kayaked, snorkeled, jet skied, and went scuba diving but our favorite thing was just relaxing on the porch watching the ocean water. Thank you to Pierre for his great communication and for sharing this precious place with others.
