Maeva Hoa - Bora Bora de lujo vista a la laguna montaña Bungalow

Llamamos a nuestra casa "Maeva Hoa" (mah-ay-VAH ho-ah), de Tahití para "Amigo de bienvenida." Un bungalow de 5 estrellas de lujo ladera de la montaña con una vista increíble laguna, casa de nuestros sueños recién remodelado para seis personas y es el único de su tipo en Bora Bora. Parte de los famosos bungalows Marlon Brando, nuestra casa está ubicada en la tranquila ciudad de Faanui. Estamos aproximadamente a 15 minutos en coche del Vaitape, el centro de "principal" de Bora Bora. Dejamos nada que perder al remodelar y amueblar esta hermosa casa bungalow. Nuestra casa dispone de aire acondicionado, lo cual es muy raro que una residencia privada en la isla. Tenemos wifi, así como una línea de tierra que le permitirá hacer llamadas locales para reservar actividades, cenas, etc. Ya sea que esté viendo el interior de relajación Netflix o de juego de aire desde el dispositivo de Apple a uno de nuestros tres televisores inteligentes, cenar en nuestra amplia vista a la laguna terraza al aire libre, o disfrutar de la playa privada, tendrá tanto las comodidades del hogar y los de una Hotel 5 estrellas. Estamos seguros de que una estancia en nuestra casa le dará fantásticos recuerdos que durarán toda la vida.

Bora Bora bungalow

The property is amazing as is the location. The single main floor bathroom may be inconvenient for two couples but worked great for us. A bbq would be handy but the outdoor balcony is devine and the view spectacular! Highly recommend this property.

Splendid Bungalow

Incredible ocean views from the large balcony where one can sit outside for coffee, drinks or meals. Beautiful interior - lustrous wood floors and carvings, completely modern equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. This is an exceptional home from which to enjoy Bora Bora. The owner and property manager are extremely kind.

Perfect Paradise

Moea was the most perfect concierge. She had our flight number and car rental confirmation to be certain that we were on time, kept in contact with us before our trip and was ready for us to escort us to the bungalow. The photo and description in the listing did not disappoint. Perfect paradise. MaevaHoa is EVERYTHING you ever needed in a vacation home, and more. Details matter, Pat and Heather thought of everything from AED defibrillator, beach umbrellas kayaks, canoes, snorkeling gear to cocktails tiki umbrellas. Amazing. The informational folder read like a good trusted fiend at your side, describing all you need to know about the island, the people, the local spots and the home. We felt welcomed (not the usual info sheet on what not to do and a list of “don’ts. The mattresses were so comfy, the towels clean and fluffy, hot water flowed effortlessly, appliances suited our needs. Excellent location to be picked by fishing charters right off the docks. About 15 minutes away from the airport ferry (main busy area). You can kayak/canoe/snorkel right across the road. The friendly neighbors offered bananas from their yard. The bungalow home was felt like home with all the carefully curated decorations and wood cabinetry and tiled kitchen and bathroom, beautiful. Thank you Pat and Heather for the opportunity to share a bit of your perfect paradise bungalow. We’ll definitely return. Mauruuru roa!

A thoughtfully-appointed, luxurious home-away-from-home

We feel so lucky to have found the listing for this Bora Bora bungalow. It is a gem. The owners have put a lot of care and hard work into creating a (luxurious) home-away-from home environment for Maeva Hoa guests. I doubt there are many, if any, homes as nice as this one on the main island. We loved staying on the main island (where locals live) and the authentic experience it allowed. (Staying at a resort on a motu would be beautiful but isolating.) Maeva Hoa, located on a quieter part of the island and a 15-30 minute drive from the island hubs of Vaitape and Matira, does require renting a car, but we loved having the independence to explore the island on our own. The views from both inside and outside the bungalow are beautiful; we logged countless hours hanging out on the balcony overlooking the lagoon and also appreciated having the same stunning views from inside the air conditioned unit. Communication with the owners before and during our stay was seamless, and they were full of ideas and tips to guide our planning. Their on-island representatives were very helpful, as well; they met us upon arrival on the island to escort us to Maeva Hoa and were easy to reach throughout our stay when we had questions or needed recommendations. If we are lucky enough to return to Bora Bora, we would want to stay at Maeva Hoa again. We now know that we would only need only to pack a swim suit and a few items of clothing, as the owners have thoughtfully provided everything else!

Wonderful Experience

This property is just as advertised, beautiful view, new remodeled interior, fresh and clean and in a nice quiet area of the island. The bedding was comfortable, and our family members (4 adults) slept well. Separate air conditioning units were in every room and worked fine. Ariane, the property assistant, was very kind and helpful. The property owner was a pleasure to work with and was helpful in answering all of my questions about the property. We were granted a late check out by the owner, which was great, since our flight out of Bora Bora didn't leave until almost 7 pm. We had a problem with the electric stove on our last day. It turned out that the solution was to power off the stove at the circuit breaker, then turn back on. It was a small inconvenience. I enjoyed hanging out on the outdoor terrace, but I had to watch out for the occasional wasp. One of those buggers made its way into the home through the sliding glass door. Things didn't work out well for the wasp. If a prospective guest has a hard time walking up stairs and such, this property may not be for them. We had to park our rental car down on the road and had a bit of a steep walk up the drive and stairs to the vacation rental. It wasn't a problem for us, but it could be for someone who has some mobility issues. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bora Bora. We wish we could have stayed longer. If we ever make it back to that island, we would love to stay at this beautiful vacation rental again.

Luxueuse villa

La villa est formidable. La vue sur le lagon est spectaculaire. On voit au loin l'aéroport de Bora, mais ce n'est pas du tout dérangeant. Idéal pour se reposer, la villa est vraiment très confortable et propre, la literie est parfaite, on y dort très bien, la cuisine très bien équipée. Catherine nous a accueilli très gentiment, super sympathique. Il faut savoir que la villa est passablement loin de la plage de Matira et des restaurants. Une voiture facilitera les déplacements.

Incredible Vacation in Bora Bora

Pat and Heather, you have shared with us your home in Bora Bora, renovated with an eye for high end features, a 5 star accommodation, and you went out of your way to have property manager Marie meet us upon arrival, and show us all the property features. We really liked your guide books and instructions, it gave us the ability to be independent on the island, arranging our easy grocery run, lagoon tours, boat rentals, hangouts at the beach, and even close by hiking (that ridge lookout was a good climb). We will be back, and we will be recommending to friends and family to also visit. Thanks you for everything you did to make our trip unforgettable....we will see you again.. Rabindra (Rob) and Amrit.

The bungalow was everything we imagined and then some. Pat has thought of everything I could even possibly think of myself and then some. Very well furnished, you have everything you could possibly need to make your stay very comfortable. Very nice of Marie to pick us up at the ferry and show us the way and point out the important things like grocery store and such. Also, the house was very accommodating for entertaining our friends for dinner and cocktails. Everyone enjoyed it very much. We will be back.

Immaculate, well stocked, delightful home on Bora Bora

We recently stayed here with our three children. We had a wonderful stay. Pat clearly has carefully thought through anything you could need and stocked his house accordingly -- down to band-aids we needed when our daughter cut herself, olive oil when we forgot it at the store, and well chosen DVDs for entertainment. The home has authentic and tasteful decoration, obviously chosen with a genuine attachment to the island. Sitting on the porch during a tropical rain and sunset are some of our best memories. It is easy to be picked up right by the house for water excursions and parking is easy for land baed exploring. It is clear that Pat and his family want guests to be comfortable there and we were. It was an awesome home base for us and I am sure we will be back.

Luxury home with an amazing view!

If you enjoy staying in a luxurious home with an amazing view this is the property for you! The beautifully appointed home features rich hardwood floors, air conditioning in all rooms, and a large kitchen with every appliance you could want. Seriously - there is a full sized fridge, oven, stove, toaster oven, dishwasher, blender, hot water kettle, coffee maker AND deluxe Nespresso machine. Want more? Grab some snorkel gear or a kayak from the down stairs storage, walk across the street and enjoy all the lagoon has to offer. Did I mention there are plenty of towels in the house and a washer and dryer? The owner is super helpful and responsive. We even received texts from owner after we arrived making sure everything was OK and giving us a few more tips of things to do in the area. We spent an amazing week at Maeva Hoa over the 2019 Christmas holiday.

Great house but some misinformation

The home is beautiful but one of the main reasons we booked it was that it offered two bathrooms. However the second bathroom requires you to walk out of the house go downstairs to the room where the washing machine is, unlock the door etc. the facilities are primitive and the downstairs room is very hot. Also walk to the house is VERY steep. We had a great time and did enjoy the rest of the house.

Five days in Paradise

We were the first renters of bungalow 7 right after it was renovated and the unit had everything you could possibly need. View was good. Everything was squeaky clean. Immense thought went into equipping it to totally satisfy anyone staying here. Pat was great to communicate with leading up to arrival and after getting there, Marie Catherine was SPECTACULAR in helping us with anything we needed. We sincerely mean it when we say it was one of if not the best water themed vacations ever. We were busy every day swimming with whales, mantas, eagle rays and lemon sharks and it was so wonderful to come back “home” at Pat’s place. Across the road between the left two docks we saw the largest giant moray we have ever encountered. Crazy huge. In fact if you do stay at Pat’s you only need your clothes. It literally has everything: Towels, quality snorkel gear, fully equipped kitchen – even adapters if you forgot them. We were not without anything and that made the trip even more relaxed and enjoyable. We are just starting to wade through over 500+GB of video files and are missing our days there already. And much of that feeling is because of where we stayed. We look forward to coming back as soon as possible and we are not just saying that. Sincerely! Kate & Tim

Delightful property in paradise

Visiting Bora Bora as a group of 6 made the usual luxury resorts unaffordable. Maeve Hoa was the perfect alternative for our family trip. It is at the quieter end of the island, away from most other tourists. For us this was a plus but it does mean you will need to rent a car. The house itself is beautifully designed and well furnished. Very comfortable beds, lots of big fluffy towels and a very well equipped kitchen which made cooking an absolute pleasure. Big beach towels were also provided. The main bathroom is spacious with a lovely big shower and two vanities. It has effective air conditioning and excellent internet connection, both a rarity in most rentals on the island. There is a big, well furnished deck where we gathered every evening to watch spectacular sunsets and have dinner. Because nowhere is perfect there are a couple of minor issues you should be aware of. Firstly parking is at street level and the driveway up to the house is quite steep. I was pleased we had a couple of strong young men with us when if came to carrying shopping. Secondly while it is technically 3 bedroom/2 bathroom the third bedroom is a loft with access up a ladder type stairway and the second bathroom is outside, down the steps and in the laundry space. Neither of these were an issue for our family group. Finally you should be aware that this is at the north end of the island, away from Matira beach. We enjoyed the feeling of being more connected to the local community however. Restaurants and dive centers will all send taxis to pick you up free of charge and this worked well for us. The owner was always helpful and responded quickly to my questions. I would definitely rent this property for any future visits to this lovely island.

A more beautiful view we could not have enjoyed!

Pat, the bungalow is gorgeous and well equipped. We were surprised to learn that we could have the ultimate convenience of having the boats come and pick us up from the pier for diving and snorkeling tours. We loved the kayaking and eating in, or following your recommendations for eating out! This has been one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation our family has ever experienced with VRBO. The price was worth it! Rapa is a treasure! He knows so many languages, is a great guide, kind, and was very helpful in our organizing a day tour of Raitea. And he helped us harvest some fresh mangoes from the tree on the property. Word of caution to all, you’ll be tempted to take at least five pictures a day of the lagoon alone!

Dude. This “bungalow” is nicer than my house! Beautiful and spacious and crazily perfect location (backed into a jungle but 90 second walk to the water)....I had high hopes and this totally exceeded them! Even the day it rained too much to go snorkeling wasn’t wasted because there were movies and video games and puzzles to keep us entertained! All the information guides were super handy and we found great food and went on amazing excursions (Rapa was the beat guide)! I can’t say enough good things. One million stars. The worst thing about it is now I can’t stop thinking about when I can go back!

The perfection of Maeva Hoa

We had a wonderful time in this lovely house and exploring the island with the amazingly gracious Rapa as our guide!

5 Star Stay

Our visit to Maeva Hoa was nothing short of incredible! The bungalow was modern and could be compared to a nice home in the states (which is pretty uncommon here). Very user friendly, well put together manuals on how to use all the electronics. The Highlight of our trip was being able to charter the Maeva Hoa boat for it's maiden voyage! The captain, Rapa, exceeded our expectations by picking us up right in front of the bungalow then taking us on the excursion of a lifetime. Can't wait to be back, thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us!!!

Beautiful home

We we're lucky enough to be one of the first renters of this newly remodeled bungalow. What a fabulous home. You can tell that the owners thought of every detail when creating what is probably one of the most modern and comfortable homes on the island. The house has beautiful wood detailing, modern cabinetry, a fully modern and well appointed kitchen, fine tile, recessed lighting everywhere. The south and west sides of the house are essentially solid glass, providing wonderful views of the lagoon and a nice, bright atmosphere. It was great waking up in the morning and watching the lagoon light up from the morning sun while laying in a comfy bed. (Did I mention the Egyptian cotton sheets and piles of pillows? )  When it gets dark and it is time to wind down you can enjoy a movie on one of the three HD TV's. A few snorkel sets are available, and there are blow-up floats for relaxing off the end of the dock. (Our kids thought the giant flamingo was very cool.)  I could go on and on, but you get the point. This is a nice place. When we arrived we were greeted by Juliette at the ferry dock. The owners hired Juliette and Peggy to act as their local representatives. Juliette led us to the house, showed us around, and gave us lots of information about the house and the island. We also appreciated all the fresh flowers that she put in every room in the house.  Later, when we had a question about the house we called Peggy and promptly got an answer. They were both very friendly and helpful. As much as we loved the house, it isn't perfect. We found that were often heading to Matira for the beach or the restaurants. That means driving to the opposite end of the island. That didn't bother us, but some people may prefer to step outside their door and already be there. The northern end of the island really doesn't have much to offer, and, except for the cluster of bungalows, it is, shall I say, a less desirable neighborhood. We would take walks in the morning, and although the water is nice, it is disappointing to see trash along the sides of the road. The trade-off that you have to consider for this property is it is a beautiful home that is not in an ideal location. If you are content to hang out and enjoy the peace and serenity on the quiet side of the island in understated luxury then this place is for you. If you want to be in the middle of the action and have everything outside your door then you may want to look at the south side of the island.

A fantastic stay at Maeva Hoa!

As the first guests of Maeva Hoa and repeat VRBO renters, we were ecstatic to find such a beautifully designed and appointed vacation rental on Bora Bora. Communication with Pat was excellent and his thoughtfulness in every regard of his beautiful bungalow was evident throughout our stay. The location, the amenities, and most of all the quality of this vacation rental are all outstanding. The description and photos of this VRBO are spot on. Thank you Pat! We really enjoyed Maeva Hoa and would love to return to your beautiful home. I will be sure to recommend to friends and family.
