In my estimation, this is a premier property in Michigan. It’s got a wide lake. Front view a very large deck. It’s great for entertaining.

If you have a large family group, and are looking for great accommodations on Grand Lake, this is your place. With 6 bedrooms and 3 baths, cottages this size are hard to find. This was our second stay here, having stayed in 2023, as well. Biggest improvement this stay was the blacktopped driveway! Very nice. There is plenty of parking space for 8 cars or more, plus your boat trailer. The grounds are expansive, with plenty of beach and two fire pits. The kayaks and paddle boat got a lot of use. This end of Grand Lake is great for swimming, as it's shallow, and the bottom is smooth without many rocks. There's a very long dock (100 yards) that gets your boat out to sufficiently deep water. The boat launch is just a few hundred yards away. The kitchen is well-equipped and appliances are upscale, and there are TWO refrigerators, which came in handy for our group of nine people. There's a nice gas grill under a gazebo, and a charcoal grill on the deck. Mitch is a responsive and attentive host. If there's any questions or issues, just call him. He's usually nearby, and will respond to whatever issue might arise and take care if it. We enjoyed our stay, and will be back again.

Very nice property, fit everyone well. Loved access to lake and use of kayaks. Lake was beautiful, would book again. Communication with host was timely and answered all questions to make stay more comfortable.

Mid summer getaway up north

We had 9 total guests and there was more than enough space for everyone. The size of the property is awesome for yard games and enjoying the lake views. Swimming in front of the property was great along with use of the pontoon rental. Communication with Mitch was easy with quick response times. We would gladly stay again. Thanks....

My favorite getaway

We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints. The house is perfect for a larger family like mine. Stocked with everything you could need, it feels like walking into my second home. Large enough that everyone can have their own space but with cozy living and dining areas that everyone can gather in. Mitch is always so welcoming and is quick to respond when I reach out. Can’t wait to get back there in the summer!

Family Gathering

I was looking for a VRBO that could hold 14 of us, 10 adults, 4 toddlers and an infant. This house was perfect. Clean, roomy, the kitchen had everything you could imagine you might need. The rooms were spacious, we never felt like we were on top of one another. The host was very courteous and great to communicate with. Easy to find, beautiful location, very nice lake front property. Would love to stay during the summer and take advantage of the great outdoor space the property owners have set up.

Gem on Grand Lake

Every time we book this property, we have a blast! The transaction is always seamless. The property is very organized and pretty much has everything that you need for the perfect getaway. We will continue to frequent this location; We highly recommend this place for creating memories on the lake by the fire and in the home!

Booking flaw

Canceled our stay because recent review no ac upstairs , no screens on windows and recent renter found it dirty. Had to forfeit our deposit. Not happy about that

False Information on rooms & Electrical Issues

Our week was 6/8-6/22/24. I am listing items wrong - Listing states 3 full & 3 half bathrooms. Nope - only 3 full. If incorrect on listing could have made us aware in email. Siding missing on entire back of home, garage full of junk, garage door off track, dead bugs, broken fridge, dirty sheets, broken handle on main door to garage, ripped shade in bathroom, dirty dishes, mold covered picnic table, moldy chair cushions on patio, no screens for fresh air, broken handles on 90% of windows so couldn't open anyway, smoke alarms with no batteries & hanging by wires. Owners response - New cleaning person, part for fridge on the way so heres a back up but not in the kitchen, power washed table, a couple new smoke alarms. One we had to take back apart as it kept going off that night again making us concerned about a larger electrical issue. No AC upstairs. Can't open a window in any room as handles are broken off and no screens. Have to leave ceiling fan on, which causes light in EVERY room to flicker on and off periodically while sleeping. I was told via Owner that we are "trying w obvious intent to misrepresent his place. We are being so exaggerated.." Folks - this electrical issue is a safety hazard. If fire (if alarms would work) you better be ready to smash a window to get out. We discussed leaving, but hard to do when you have family that has traveled from out of state. 90 yr old Mom out $6,000! Do not be fooled by the pictures and description. We were.....

Just our annual ice fishing trip

Great access of the lake, we did not bting up machines. Walked about a mile out. Fishing was good. Great place to stay for a getaway. We really had a good time up there.

Change of scenery

We work remote and wanted a change of scenery. Mitch confirmed 3 people could work with no issues and he was correct. Even though we worked during the day we had a blast after work. The frozen lake was beautiful, the house is great. Have no complaints. Thank you so much Mitch!

Winter Family Get Away

This was my family's second year renting this property. It is a lovely lake side home. There are a few things that were damaged prior to our arrival due to previous guests. I think a note making future guest aware of these things would help. I was worried that we would be charged for others actions. I did express my concerns with the property owner, he was very accommodating and understanding. He express that he was aware of the issues and was in the process of getting everything fixed. Overall I would definitely stay at this property again, and hope to make it annual trip.

Family Friendly Getaway

This house truly embraces everything that is “up north”. Our extended family enjoyed a long weekend together and we can’t say enough great things. It is the perfect place for all ages and such a great space for multiple families to share.

Very nice stay; one of the best!

I have been coming to Grand Lake for over 60 years. I have probably stayed in 30 or so different cottages over the years This was one of the best, and perfect for the large family group I had for this trip. Mitch, the owner, is very responsive to whatever your need might be. The cottage is very well equipped, both inside and out. Everyone in my group had a wonderful time, and we were lucky with the weather, as it only rained one day during our stay. I would highly recommend this home to anyone with a large group! I hope to stay here again in the future.

Grand week on Grand Lake

Communication with Mitch was very timely from the moment we found his home and had a few questions before reserving last year-the week of our arrival. The view-awesome. We knew there was a lot of lake frontage but it didn’t sink in until our arrival. We all took one last view before heading home as we didn’t want to forget what we enjoyed for 7 days. The home is very spacious we had 10 adults and one child and it never felt crowded. The sectional in the living room allowed all of us to be together in the evening. The kitchen and eating area offer views of the lake as well. There’s plenty of dishes and cookware too. We enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle boat. Love that the water is shallow and sandy by the house. We all were able to float on our floats while catching some sun. The home also had corn hole and other games to use during our stay. We also enjoyed the outdoor speakers. We rented the pontoon one day which gave us an opportunity to explore Grand Lake. The home is well supplied cleaning items, toilet paper, paper towel, dish liquid and even laundry soap. Our whole group would love to stay here again.
