Close but not super close

Every review made it seem like this was super close to bear mountain. It’s close, but in the snow and with a child, we still needed to drive and do a lot of shoveling before going anywhere. There was a leak in the ceiling that turned into more leaks before checking out, then we were way overcharged for an evening checkout when all the roads were closed (another nights stay). No curtains in the living room, upstairs bathroom (why?) and kitchen. Heater made the upstairs hot and the downstairs bathroom as still cold. Old place. Old fridge. Old everything. Upstairs bed, old, soft and a bit uncomfortable.

Great place for family and friends

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great cabin, amazing place, we felt how we’ve come to fairytale, definitely come back soon. House is big and comfortable, the area is wonderful!

So close to Bear

Great location, walk to the mountain. Very clean property. Company is responsive and friendly. Went with the family and was perfect size. Check in is kind of a pain to stop by the office to confirm identity and taking your trash but that's more of a Big Bear thing not just this property so no minus stars.

last minute getaway

This property is new and clearly some thought has been put into making it look cute. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again if wood burning fire was allowed. The reservation said absolutely no wood but its weird to turn on gas without even an artificial log, plus it was weird that there were half burnt logs sitting on fireplace when its not allowed. Would have loved to cozy up next to the fire. My strongest recommendation would be to change out the seating in the main/living room area. The couch is terribly uncomfortable and there is no comfy chair alternative, so makes it hard for more than two people to comfortably hang out. The bed was comfortable/soft to my liking. Everything was very well cleaned and new, except for bathtub which i had to clean out in order to bathe my child. Lastly, i wish i would have realized this was managed by a property management. Usually you are just provided no contact entry, but they required an in person check in, which is hugely inconvenient when it is dark out, busy area, with kiddos in the car. Do contactless check in please!
