Hideaway Off Grid Yurt

Imagine yourself laying inside your private yurt looking up through the clear skydome at the stars above. This yurt is nestled amongst Alder and Pine trees secluded from civilization! Enjoy blackberries picked yourself around the yurt in late spring/early summer with deer, bunnies and owls as your neighbors! THIS IS A DRY OFF GRID YURT EXPERIENCE. A private composting toilet and handwashing sink is available in the nearby off grid bathroom that is located 40 yards from the yurt. A cozy deck with chairs and a firepit are attached as well as a private grill and private camping shower! Yurt is completely solar powered. **PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING.. THIS IS A DRY GLAMPING SETUP. THERE IS A HALF BATHROOM (COMPOSTING TOILET AND FOOT PUMP SINK). WE PROVIDE A PRIVATE GRILL AND PRIVATE CAMPING SHOWER AS WELL AS DISHES, SILVERWARE, COOKWARE AND GLASSWARE. THERE WILL ALSO BE A HOT WATER KETTLE TO MAKE HOT BEVERAGES ALONG WITH A FRENCH PRESS COFFEE MAKER. THERE IS LIMITED POWER AVAILABLE AS THE YURT IS DEPENDENT ON SOLAR POWER**

**NOTE- THE CAMPING SHOWER IS ONLY AVAILABLE APRIL THROUGH NOVEMBER 1ST.**

**NOTE- THE PROPANE HEATER IS AVAILABLE OCTOBER THROUGH APRIL**

We are dog friendly, and we require all guests to clean up after their dogs. There are plastic bags provided for animal waste disposal when dogs are in the backyard and on neighborhood walks. Cleaning up after pets includes excess pet hair, especially on furniture. Please use the waterproof pet blanket provided for the sofa and bed.
Guests bring the animal onto the property at their own risk. The booking guest is liable for any damages that pets cause. (You will note that we do not usually charge a cleaning fee of any kind. We will have to charge a cleaning fee if your dog leaves behind a mess or causes damage.)
We find that most people are cooperative and responsible with their pets. We love traveling with our fur babies, and would like to keep allowing pets in our listings. Thank you for being understanding and working with us to keep our rental available to pets!

Rules for dogs:
1. We do NOT have a fenced yard or space. If you have a dog that will wander, we require you to keep your dog on a leash or a lead.
2. We live in a country neighborhood and being good neighbors is very important to us. Excessive barking, making noise or being a nuisance to our neighbors is not allowed.
3. Clean up after your dog in the rental, around the rental and anywhere you take your dog in the neighborhood.

Fun glamping stay, pet friendly and close to all Bellingham amenities. Easy check in and host was very responsive. Very affordable option and hurt was very cute and cozy.

DO NOT STAY HERE. In all my years of traveling this is the only time I have arrived at my accommodation and immediately found it unsuitable to stay in. We arrived after dark and this place was difficult to find down a poorly lit driveway and parking area with a long dark path to the yurt. The stinky outhouse is in the parking lot and the only shower is a bag system outside. The yurt itself is much smaller than it appears in photos, with a couch bed that takes up most of the space once pulled out. The yurt was not particularly clean either with a strong musty odor. The final straw was no propane hooked up to the heater leaving no heat source on a night at 50 degrees Fahrenheit and a temperature much more frigid (in the 40s) inside the yurt. It was late and we were exhausted so we went to a hotel and messaged the host, Joshua, about our issues the next day. The response I got was unsympathetic and unhelpful suggesting we should've just used the (light) comforter and dealt with the cold. No refund of any kind was offered despite the unsatisfactory conditions. I have never experienced such frankly rude customer service from a host. This is why I feel I must warn other travelers to avoid this place. If you are looking for a yurt experience stay in one of the clean, heated, and much more affordable yurts in Washington's state parks.

Interestingly enough, our guest, although seeming to have issues with our property which has great reviews, DID NOT EVER contact us to discuss issues such as bringing out a heater (which is clearly states in our property booking description that is is only available certain months out of the year. In addition to NEVER contacting the host about any problems, decided on his own to leave and stay in a hotel and insisted on a refund simply because it was late when they arrived, was dark and they were cold. Maybe he should have thought about the fact that our listing is for an OFF GRID RUSTIC YURT. ** Bookers, id you have questions about a property, contact the host either before or during your stay. That is all😁

A charming glamping set up- easy to travel to/from the heart of Bellingham, fun to fall asleep to frogs and owls so close to town. Bed is a pullout couch and yurt is super cozy! Be prepared for camp showers, cookouts and lounging on the deck amongst trees and birds. Very sweet set up.

The host was great my first time using app and was not fluent in where to find info he was patient and helped anytime I asked. The property is so cute and quiet and perfect for myself and my dog. The fan really helped to cool down the yurt in the hot evenings

Rainy yurt stay

This yurt is perfect to stay in if you have the urge to tent camp but it's just too rainy out! It was super cozy and was super close to great hikes. Thank you for the hospitality!

Loved the yurt! It was definitely a great spot in a great area. A little road noise but it wasn’t terrible. Great amenities and great directions both on how to get there and how to use the amenities.

Yurt was well-appropriated. It has all you need for cooking, dining, and cleaning dishes. You will need a flashlight to navigate the trail to and from the composing toilet at night. The bed was adequate for a pull out, mattress may need to be replaced soon as it dips in the middle. Overall, the property is beautiful and the yurt very private and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Yurt location itself was wonderful! Definitely close to everything yet feels secluded. Bathroom is a small walk which isn't bad... if you have a good bladder Mattress is in Definite need of a replacement as it was very lumpy and stained. We usually bring our own bedding anyway and am thankful we did. The bedding provided was also stained and used as extra padding instead. Lots of throw rugs on floor that were super slippery and a bit of a hazard but when we went to move a few of them they were covering cracks in flooring so I get why they were there. Fan light didn't work and fan was a bit frustrating to get started but after some buttons and choice words I was able to get it going and the air it gave off was great! We were looking forward to the solar shower but there was a leak in the bag and it looked like it hadn't been used in quite a while and quite a few solar lights were not working. Luckily we brought plenty of solar lights and have the discovery pass and were able to get to a campsite nearby with amazing hot showers! All in all location was wonderful, yurt was cute and has soo much potential but it just seems it doesn't get cleaned or maintained until day of a reservation ol maybe? I would definitely bring your own seasoning and coffee as it looked like it was sitting awhile.

Clean, comfortable, simple

My husband and I stayed for the weekend with our dogs. Very nice, well set up yurt in a good location. Everything was very functional, and the neighborhood was quiet but close to town. Thanks so much! We highly recommend.

A nice getaway!

Pros: so fun to get out of the city a little bit. Glamping was awesome, especially in the cold. The bed was comfy with lots of warm blankets. Easy to get to and from town if interested. Cons: it was so muddy! But that comes with the territory. :)

Perfect retreat style get away!

The yurt was perfect! Propane heater was great! Hot water and enough solar energy to power all of our needs with less than 50% used each day. A little muddy but that's too be expected when you do a lot of work on your land. The owners have really put in a lot of work and you can tell it's a labor of love. We had the best mother- daughter bonding time and we hope to visit again!! Great fun!! Thank you!!

We moved to this property in February of 2021 and quickly began creating our acreage into a serene and relaxing space. Josh is the owner of a recording studio and Amy is a Marriage & Family Therapist. We have a Havanese dog and a cat, both indoor pets. We also have 4 chickens that we get fresh eggs from daily. Additionally, we have 8 apple trees, 2 pear and 2 plum trees on the property.

You will unwind and relax being secluded in your own foresty world surrounded by seasonal blackberries and all forms of wildlife including deer, bunnies and lots of birds! We have a large deck attached to the yurt along with a cozy firepit available!
