Nautical Nic's Cozy Lakefront Cottage


This cozy early 1900's 1-bedroom cottage is sure to create lasting memories on your vacation. It is perfect for a couple or small family. Come relax and cozy up by the gas fireplace while gazing at the stunning sunsets. It is waterfront, directly on Zukey Lake. The Lakeland trail, a paved trail great for any activity, is right around the corner. 4 Kayaks & a paddleboat are available all year at no extra charge. A floating pontoon is at the end of the dock with a propane firepit that pairs well with your favorite beverage in the evenings. NEW IN 2025 is Linda's Lake Vibes Boat Tours. Please see flyer in the photos for more details.

Do know that our dock is "seasonal" and is usually in from May until Oct. Sometimes, we can put the dock in the water in April. It depends on our lovely Michigan weather. Please inquire before booking if you need to know. The dock is in place for your relaxation pleasure. Please inquire if you wish to bring a boat. No rentals are available on this lake. The floating pontoon with the propane fire pit we leave up all year long for you to cozy up to.

This is an owner operated vrbo and not managed by a property rental company. We like to ensure you have a great vacation experience.

FYI... For those not familiar with lake living, homes are within close proximity of each other. We are hoping for guests who are looking for a peaceful retreat and enjoy some quiet couple/family time. No parties, foul language, or large gatherings as we want to be respectful of our neighbors on the lake. This lot is 28ft wide. Our own home personal lake lot is directly next door, so you may see us out at our dock/beach frequently, but we will not invade your privacy or space.

We loved our stay at Nautical Nic’s. The lake views were beautiful, and the house was nice, clean, and comfortable. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet, yet not far from stores and restaurants. We would definitely recommend it and would stay here again!

I had a wonderful stay at this house. The neighborhood was quiet, the house cozy and welcoming, and the lake views are spectacular. There was also wildlife to watch like sandhill cranes and swans.

Great Property and Flexible Property Manager

Beautiful property with an awesome view of the lake. Was able to easily locate everything needed for a comfortable stay. We ran a race and needed to clean up after. Jodi was flexible with checkout to allow us time to get back and get cleaned up before checkout.Would totally recommend!

Relaxing Weekend

My husband and I stayed here for our 25th anniversary and had a great time. House was perfect for a nice relaxing weekend. Enjoyed kayaking on the water. Walking paths close by, with beautiful foliage with a park close by. Jodi and Nick were very great hosts. Woild definitely come back.

Fabulous place!

We loved our stay here!! It feels quiet and remote but it’s conveniently located walking distance to a big Kroger and fun bar! And being right on the lake with a private dock is amazing!! We took the kayaks out and spent a ton of time just lounging. It was the perfect quiet lake getaway.

quiet weekend away

This property was just as pictured and in a quiet neighborhood, but still close to a grocery store and some restaurants. We ended up canceling plans we had one night to stay in, and we were able to see a pretty sunset!

Retreat in June

This cozy cottage was a perfect place for my girl friend and I just to relax and catch up on life. As mentioned in description, parking is tight but we were ok with suv in front of garage. When we arrived, we were greeted by Nellie and Jodi who live right across the road. We enjoyed morning coffee and sunning on the dock, watching the swans on the quiet lake and taking a walks to explore the area during our three day stay. Best ladies get away!

We had such a blast at Nautical Nic’s! They really know how to create a cozy cottage environment while also offering so many perks (like snacks and coffee!). We loved the docked floating pontoon and gas fireplace table—so magical! We cannot wait for to plan our next weekend away.

Lovely sunroom with 3 sides of windows on lake!

Zukey Lake is fun to watch from this cottage as the sun is behind you in the morning, then overhead midday, and later you get the sunset straight across the water. The kayaks were fun, the sunroom had cool views of the water that we especially enjoyed after dark when the lights on the docks all glowed. We loved our stay!

Amenities Galore!!

Me and my daughter had a very relaxing 2 night stay at Nautical Nics Cozy Lakefront Cottage. The amenities were plentiful, the hosts were very thoughtful in what they provided for guests. The cottage is true to the pictures, so cozy and cute. We enjoyed the sun, water and kayaking the 1st day and even though rainy weather on the 2nd day we relaxed inside and enjoyed the lake view! Wonderful weekend stay!

My husband and I are both professionals. I am an RN at a local hospital and Nick is a carpenter working at EMU. We love living on the lake providing entertainment and activities with many friends around when we want, but the lake also provides us the relaxing atmosphere and moments of peace and quiet when needed. The sunsets are absolutely beautiful! We both love to cycle on the lakeland trail stopping occasionally at the local Zukey Lake Tavern or Hamburg Pub directly off the trail. Jodi likes to run as well with her highlight being running the Boston Marathon in October of 2021! The lakeland trail provides 24 miles of paved trail end to end...longer with crushed gravel. So much to enjoy in all seasons. check us out.

Nautical Nic's is directly next to our lake lot. Our house with 3 acres of land is directly across the street. We have a dock/lake lot directly next to Nautical Nic's. This was a perfect opportunity for us when this cozy cottage became available, as we have already been vrbo hosts for other properties and really enjoy hosting.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The Views from this cozy cottage are amazing. Sunsets are stunning. You can even see these from your bedroom. Kayak(no fees) or paddleboat on this beautiful lake which is also attached to 8 other lakes. This cottage is on Zukey Lake with Strawberry Lake being the next lake over and portage Lake being the last lake (2 hrs by boat) on this chain. Sit at the end of the dock & relax or get active and Kayak the chain connected by the Huron River.
