BHI Coastal Cottage

Sand Dollar Cottage is an open floor plan home with 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths on the beautiful Bald Head Island. Walking distance to South Beach and short cart ride to the market and marina. The home was recently professionally redesigned and renovated with a coastal interior. The beautifully remodeled kitchen has all new appliances, cabinets, and countertops. The spacious family & dining area is open to the Carolina room for additional living space. Enjoy the sound of the ocean from the large deck with fabulous seating areas, dining table & grill.

The cottage has two primary bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and two additional bedrooms.

The village of Bald Head Island is a golf cart only community. The cottage includes 2 golf carts (4 persons each). While the island has a limited number of businesses, there are several restaurants, shops, and a market for groceries.

BHI Club Access - Contact BHI Club directly for Guest Membership Availability & pricing. During high season, the club offers a limited number of guest memberships.

Linens, bath and beach towels are provided. The cottage is stocked with beach toys, beach chairs, and family & children’s games.

There are 4 bikes on the property. We do not guarantee the condition of bikes at the time of rental. There is a place on the island to rent bikes if needed.

The layout of the house was perfect, well equipped kitchen and grill. Very comfortable and great location: quiet area, easy to get to the BHI Club, the beach, and stores! The wildlife overlook was awesome with the White Ibis and Egrets coming to roost!

Perfect peaceful getaway

Our family enjoyed a long weekend on Bald Head Island and had a wonderful stay at the house. We loved the location —peaceful and quiet but close to beaches and other outdoor activities. The house is beautifully kept and had all the amenities for a relaxing and fun family gathering.

Amazing Family Getaway on Bald Head Island!

We had the best time on our first visit to Bald Head Island with our family! The property was perfect — close to the beach and market, clean, and well-equipped. The property manager was super helpful with ferry and tram info, making arrival a breeze. We loved exploring the island by golf cart, spotting birds and even a baby alligator! It was a little chilly when we visited, but the kids had a blast. Can’t wait to come back in the summer and enjoy the clubhouses with the guest passes!

Great House!

I have been to BHI many times; this was one of my favorite homes on the island. Great set up, has beautiful decor, well equipped. Highly recommend.

Perfect location!

Our family of five stayed here for our first trip to Bald Head. It’s the perfect location to get to the beach and market in minutes. We loved the layout of the house and the two golf carts were great. Lots of beach gear available to use and we had fun on the bikes too. An awesome property!

Prefect location!

This was our third trip to BHI and by far the best location! It was a quick jaunt to the beach, BHI club, and the Maritime Market. The cottage was well appointed and beautifully decorated! Connie was a gracious host and easy to communicate with. We wouldn’t hesitate to book here again!

Bald Head vacation

This is a lovely, well appointed home, with ample space and lots of light. The location is central, a walk away from the beach. The only downside is that there is not a view, and BH has wonderful view scapes! This is a home worth renting despite lack of view!

Perfectly located oasis

This Stede Bonnet residence is beautifully appointed with plenty of room for family members to have quiet time alone, eat together at the large dining table, or come together after a long, happy day to watch a movie. There is plenty of seating for any activity. Centrally located in the Maritime Forest, you’re just a quick ride to the Bald Head Island Club, Midway (for coffee/breakfast), and the Maritime Market.

Best Rental Stay

We’ve stayed at many rental homes and this house was one of the best! Super clean, beautifully decorated and attention to small details! It was our first stay on BHI, and the location was perfect. I thought we would prefer ocean front, but loved being in the maritime forest! It was a short cart ride to the beach, the ferry, the market and stores. Thank you Connie, for sharing your beautiful home. We will definitely be back!

Labor Day Weekend 2024

We really appreciated the friendly and quick support provided by the property manager. Check-in and out was a breeze (even in the pouring rain on Monday!) This property was the perfect size for our group of eight. The kitchen was well stocked (even a few extras not noted in the property listing). This house had everything we could have needed (and more) during our stay. Thank you!

Amazing Home and Hosts

We had an amazing experience. The home was absolutely beautiful and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were wonderful and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. They were always available to answer any questions we had. The location of the home was excellent, with easy access to the beach and local attractions. We enjoyed exploring the island and taking advantage of everything it had to offer. It was truly a memorable experience and I can't wait to come back again!

Beautiful cottage with everything you need!!

Beautifully decorated and well-stocked cottage in a central location on the island. Easy to find the house and get around to the market, shops and restaurants . Multiple golf carts and bikes. Garage is also stocked with anything you would need at the beach including chairs, towels, fishing gear, etc. Wonderful front deck to relax, dine and grill. Comfortable living area great for naps and movie night. Hope you enjoy Sand Dollar Cottage too!!

Location, location, location

Rented this house for my family for my daughter's wedding at the Chapel. My adult kids and grandkids all loved it and can't wait to come back. We hope this property is available when we do come back. Very clean and perfect room arrangement. Love the openness of the living area and it was large enough for all of us to sit around and talk. Great convenient location. This home had everything needed. Nothing lacking. Thank you for hosting my family.

This was a super vrbo!

I almost don’t want to tell how great it was -I want to save it as a favorite to return to someday. The location on the island was in a perfect spot as it was convenient to both sides and ends of the isle. The decor was beautiful and we were super impressed with the cleanliness of the home, appliances, and baths. It seems Colleen has thought of everything! Having beach towels, bath towels, and bed linens available was huge and made packing much easier. My daughter even said the home was a great choice-let me tell you that speaks volumes! After morning coffee on the front deck, we spent our days cruising with both golf carts or bikes to the beach access points we deemed our favorites, checking out the coffee shops, or exploring the side wynds with the cruiser bikes. This was a week of beautiful weather -tons of sunshine and fun memories with family. We definitely hope to return!

Prepare to be whisked away to a haven that will steal your heart! We stumbled upon this incredible property on Vrbo and let me tell you, it's pure beach bliss. While it's not directly on the beach, don't fret! A quick and fun golf cart ride will transport you to the sandy shores in no time. The moment we stepped into the house, we were greeted with a sense of coastal charm and relaxation. The beautiful decor and cozy ambiance set the stage for a truly memorable stay. Every corner of the house was immaculate, making us feel right at home. Cleanliness? Check! Comfort? Double check! The host deserves a standing ovation for their responsiveness and attentiveness. They were like a personal concierge, always ready to assist and provide helpful recommendations. Whether we needed directions to the outdoor grill or tips on building sandcastles fit for kings and queens, they were just a quick message away. Their dedication truly made us feel like valued guests. Leaving this island paradise was undoubtedly a bittersweet moment. We found ourselves yearning for just a few more days of sunshine, saltwater, and the soothing sound of crashing waves. This property has spoiled us.

Fantastic

Rented this house for a girls weekend and it couldn't have been any more perfect. It was clean, well stocked, and adorably decorated. The owner was fantastic at communicating and answering any questions we had, and the check in was simple. We are already talking about making it a yearly trip!
