Beautiful view and a very well-equipped apartment, but the neighbors upstairs were very loud, which was quite disturbing at night. A pity — otherwise, it would have been a perfect location.

Best Yet!

We have made multiple trips to Princeville over the years and have always stayed in building 5 at Alii Kai in Princeville. This trip was our first time staying in this particular unit, and we have decided it is our new favorite! All of the units in building 5 have spectacular views. Our preference is the be on the ground floor so we can walk straight out onto our lanai and also to the adirondack chairs on the grass. Compared to the other units we have rented in building 5, this one was the most updated, the cleanest, and the most well-stocked. At some point the second bedroom was eliminated in a remodel and the livingroom/sitting area was thus expanded. Unless you need a second bedroom, the extra livingroom space is very nice. I also appreciated the desk/work area, as I always travel with my laptop and it was nice to not have to set up my work area on the dining room table. The property management company was very responsive. We realized that there wasn't a toaster in the unit as there should have been. We reached out and a new toaster was delivered to our door that same day! The next time we visit Princeville, we'll definitely be staying in this unit.

The condo is nicely updated with contemporary furnishings. The views from the bedroom and living areas are stunning. The ocean facing backyard with the nenes and roosters was equally gorgeous. We even saw some whales while sitting on the backyard chairs. The huge shower in the en-suite bathroom was very therapeutic and relaxing. The condo was nicely stocked with beach gear and towels. The washer and dryer were sizable and convenient for laundering our swimsuits. One recommendation we have is to get rid of the glasses or kitchenware that are stained or worn. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Great view. Spacious condo. Wonderful shower. Very comfortable bed. Beach chairs nice. Well stocked kitchen and baths. Nice having 2 bathrooms, but the second bathroom doesn't have a shower, just the jetted tub. Good to have the laundry in unit.

A Slice of Heaven

This is such a special place. We spent our mornings having tea looking out at the ocean in the cliffside adirondack chairs. During the day, we were greeted by geese, then chickens, roosters, pigeons, and more. A frog visited us too. We loved waking to the view and sounds of the ocean. The unit was well stocked with extra towels, everything you need in the kitchen, and even washing detergent for the washer/dryer, which was super convenient. There were two of us, and the extra bathroom was a real luxury. Very spacious. Just an all-around great place to stay. There were a couple things to be aware of though, which are out of the control of the host...people do walk by in front of the unit. Not a lot, but definitely a handful each day. So you do not have total privacy. Also, being the bottom unit, you will hear people walking in the unit above. This was remedied for us with earbuds and only a minor annoyance. Pure bliss for us!!

Great, airy and light apartment!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Alii Kai. The views from the apartment and the grounds are outstanding. It was lovely to be able to step out onto the lawn, to watch the sunrise, or sunset! The apartment has everything you need for the stay: nice kitchen, washer and dryer, lovely shower and bath, and even beach chairs and umbrella. We had excellent weather, so we were able to explore a whole bunch of the north side of Kauai. The apartment's location is excellent, with stores and restaurants, and beaches nearby, and has easy access to the main highway - which allows treks to Hanalei and beaches and hikes further west. The communication from Vacasa was also excellent - we had absolutely no difficulties throughout the booking process, and during our stay.

A tropical paradise!

We highly recommend this condo! The views were spectacular — you could listen to waves, feel the ocean breeze, and wale watch from any room and the walkout seating. The room was even nicer in real life than the pictures showed — it was clean and well stocked with kitchen and beach supplies, and the customer service staff from Vacasa were responsive, friendly, and helpful. Also, we saw other reviews that complained about the washer and dryer - they must have upgraded since then because the washer and dryer were full-sized and we were able to wash and dry large loads easily.

Beauty galore

This property is way more beautiful than we expected. Gorgeous setting with full oceanview. Lovely furnishings and decent bed. That’s also the downside because the waves are fairly noisy when the wind kicks up (which is often). Not a place for active kids with glass tables everywhere. Exceykitchen. Add a few more towel hooks in the bathroom and it’s perfect.

Kauai in Princeville

We loved our stay here! Quiet neighborhood, clean unit, efficient communication, and all the amenities we needed! Beautiful view from every window. We loved all of the provided beach chairs, snorkel masks, and towels, too. The full kitchen made cooking at home a breeze! We'd love to stay here again on return to Kauai :)

Very comfortable unit but does not have washer & dryer

The condo is very comfortable and well equipped except that it does not have a washer & dryer as stated in the listing. It has a small washer/dryer combination unit which has very limited capacity and takes excessive time to process even a small load (2.5 hrs to do a few underwear and a T-shirt). We stayed for 2 weeks and like to wash towels and bedding -- this was not possible. Before reserving the unit, we emailed a question about the washer & dryer and received assurance from Vacasa that they were located in the unit. Obviously, the owner can equip the unit with whatever they consider appropriate but the listing should be accurate so renters can choose what suits their desires.

Loved our stay in Princeville

This condo was the perfect place for our Kauai get away! It was exactly as pictured/described and better in person. The unit had everything we needed… and it even had snorkel gear :) There’s no A/C but the ocean breezes and fans kept us comfortable. With ocean views out every window, it was just beautiful and so close to everything we love in the Princeville/Hanalei area. Thanks for such a great place to stay and relax!

Whale Watching Paradise!

Completely wide open unobstructed view of the ocean from every room, perched right on the cliffs ! Saw rainbows 🌈 over the ocean every morning, and greeted by beautiful birds singing and nenes on the grass each day. We were just there first part of February for 7 nights, and we could see whales spouting and breaching in the water through our windows every day. The property is pristine, brand new remodel. Tasteful decor. Food Land grocery store is a short drive away, Most excellent stay, except for one thing : the washer and dryer were not working and we were not informed ahead of time. We learned of this when the day we arrived through a note left on the counter : “ washer not working, waiting for parts to arrive.” Had we known, we would have been packed differently. It was very inconvenient, but in the end - we were in Kauai paradise after all … and everything else was perfect. We loved our stay there - it was beautiful !
