We are very pleased that really enjoyed the jungle setting of Villa 26 and saw some wildlife. Yes, the road up to the house is different from what most people are used to, but it is actually, relatively, mild compared to some in the area. Liza, thanks for staying at Villa 26 and for being such great guests. Yes, only the bedrooms can be air conditioned, which means that the additional sleeping capacity, the pull out couch in the living room, can be warm, although there is a celing fan directly above it which helps. The view, privacy, and wildlife rarely disappoint! We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. Cheers, Russ.

Don, we are, obviously, very sorry that your experience at our house was not to your liking. However, for others reading this review, and our response, it should be noted that your initial concerns escalated when you did not immediately receive the refund that you requested. Regardless, we are pleased that you thought that the property was nice. Cleanliness is something that we take very seriously, and as can be seen from the reviews on this site, and many years of reviews on AirBnB, this has not been an issue in the past, but we have let our cleaners know of your complaint. With regards to the pool, as Cliff, our Property Manager, points out at every check in, the small areas of discoloration on the bottom of the pool are changes in the surface material itself and not dirt. In terms of power, again we are very sorry that you experienced several power outages, but, again, as we originally responded, “as you likely know, power outages are common in Costa Rica. It is for that reason that we, recently, purchased the generator. Although not a perfect solution (noise and air pollution), as Cliff and I become more familiar with its operation and deployment, it can and has helped to alleviate the inherent power issues in Costa Rica. As for the snake, whether it was on the deck or in the house is still unclear. Neighbors have reported such incidents, but this would be a first at our house. Close inspection of the sweeps on all doors suggests that unless the door was open, the snake would not have been able to enter the house. Again, we are very sorry that these Costa Rican Jungle experiences disrupted your trip.

Thank you for your great review. Yes, people often just stay at the house for a day or two, swimming in the pool and enjoying nature from the newly remodeled wooden deck and the palm leaf covered rancho, it is such a unique experience. We look forward to seeing you again!
