The Commodore West is the perfect large group vacation destination. This 5-bedroom 4 bath beach front beauty has all the elements needed for a fabulous beach vacation. Be sure to check out the "Rachel", a schooner that ran aground in 1923 and has been parked in front of the Commodore ever since.

The first level of this duplex features incredible views with a wall of windows. When you are seated at the massive dining table, you'll be able to dine with a great view. There is additional counter seating so everyone can enjoy mealtime together. The kitchen has a unique, large prep counter for those nights when you are staying in for dinner. Or it can serve as a convenient buffet counter for casual dining. You'll be pleased to discover hard surface flooring through out, granite kitchen counters and stainless steel appliances.



There is also a large pantry, washer and dryer and full bath on this first level.

Head to the second level and you'll find the master suite. A king size bed and balcony access make this the perfect retreat. The full bath features a garden tub, double vanity, stall shower and private water closet.

Also on the second level are two king rooms that share a hall bath.

Continue on to the third level and you'll discover the bunkroom and another room with a king bed. The bunkroom houses two twin/twin/twin bunks and a full/full bunk with a twin trundle.

Awesome location, needs a deep clean

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an awesome week, perfect weather and location. The house itself was great, windows were foggy on main floor but otherwise the house was more than decent all round. I don’t think the cleaners do a great job though. The master bath had hair in it, one bedroom had what appeared to be vomit on the bed skirt. The kitchen was disorganized and visibly grubby, but appliances all functional. There were some basic things that would make a better impression for example The main kitchen trash bin was cracked and about to fall apart, and the couch frame was actually cracked and dipping in the middle. We really still had a wonderful time, I just would encourage the owners to consider new cleaning staff and perhaps updating the living room furniture. Thank you for hosting us!

What great property!!! We had parents, teens and small ones, age 4-10. We had plenty of room for all. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had all we needed. Nothing bad to say about any part of the home. Views were just like the pics....step out the door onto the beach. Loved it all and would recommend to anyone with a large group.

We loved our stay at The Commodore West! The house was spacious, clean, and perfect for our family. The only thing we wished for was a bedroom on the bottom floor for those who struggle with stairs, but everything else was wonderful.The beach view was stunning—hearing the waves and watching sunsets from the balcony made every day special. Being right on the sand made it easy to relax, take walks, and let the kids play.We also loved how close the property is to Fort Morgan, one of our favorite places to visit in Gulf Shores. The history and views there are incredible, and it’s so convenient being just down the road.The home had everything we needed: a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and a host who made sure everything was ready. The location was close to restaurants, shopping, and attractions, yet still peaceful.This was one of our favorite beach trips, and we’d absolutely recommend The Commodore West to anyone looking for a relaxing Gulf Shores getaway!

There was so much room for 4 families to have their own bedroom and all the kids to have their own bunk room. The best part was being steps away from the beach and also being able to leave our tents and chairs there over night. The house itself is large and spacious; however, there are lots of stairs. Stairs lead into the property, followed by two more flights. There are no bedrooms on the first floor. The house is basically clean, but some dishes in the cabinets were filthy. The towels are OLD and very thin. One towel I opened had a long human hair in the middle of it. We still had a great time, and I was very impressed with the management. We received a text at least an hour before check-in letting us know the code to get in. They brought extra remotes and were prompt in letting us know of a water outage that might affect the house. The beach is extremely close and has very few people. It is family and dog-friendly.

Perfect place for multi family

We had 4 families with kids stay. It was a great house to fit all of us. Loved that we were sure to on the beach and the kids could easily walk up to the house by themselves.

Excellent vacation

Commodore West checked all of our boxes. We loved being right on the beach and the covered porches were amazing! We enjoyed watching the dolphins cruising the sand bar and saw lots of marine life. The only complaints we had were some places in the house were not the cleanest but it was nothing to ruin our fun. We would definitely stay here again.

short time at the beach

this property is great and right on the beach, lots of room, porches were nice. The only thing I didn't find there was a blow dryer, I'll remember to pack one next time. Our puppies loved the beach!!

It’s always a great day on the beach

House was great. Access to beach is awesome. Property management is great to work with, I made a new friend. But the stairs are a little much for older folks. Lots of memories made.
