Take it easy at this unique and tranquil, modern cottage with a hot tub, located on the bank of the Russian River in historic Duncans Mills. The soulful dwelling is a mid-century modern style with expansive decks, lush gardens, outdoor space and a serene, yet hip, interior including a chic living room, modern kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The bedrooms and bathrooms are separated- offering privacy for two couples or mom & dad trying to have space from their kids! Soak under the stars in the hot tub, paddle the river or just sit back and relax.

Beautiful home with a gorgeous view

Our stay was truly wonderful. The property was exactly as advertised with an amazing view and fun activities like kayaking. We enjoyed a fun night of dominos with the in house games and had an overall lovely stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at The River Cottage. The property was beautiful and the location was awesome! Close to both Jenner and Guerneville- where we made day trips. I would definitely stay here again.

A meadow with goats sweeping down from house to river

My partner and I spent a great weekend with another couple enjoying this exceptional property, run by the best kind of host you could imagine. Finer touches throughout interior and garden spaces, art, a dock and boats, hot tub and porcelain bathtub on either side of the house. None better.

We loved this place. Walking distance to Duncan's Mills, a beautiful hiking trail just down the road, dog friendly, super clean, thoughtfully designed space. We hope to come back. If I say too many good things it will be all booked next time we want to use it so I will stop ;).

River Paradise

Nice clean home on the Russian River. Beautiful redwoods throughout the area. Peaceful sounds of a waterfall and creek near by. Thankful for a great place to go with our four legged kid, Goldie. The only thing that would have made the trip slightly better would be a king size bed in the bedroom. Beautiful and peaceful vacation spot.

Perfect New Year Re-set

Needed a getaway to unwind from all the holiday shenanigans where we could rest and start fresh. Everything about this property is wonderful! We already want to return in the summer. My dog does not get to enjoy a yard at home so Nancy really really loved having the freedom to run and play here. Views of the river did not disappoint. Local grub is absolutely fantastic! Slept so well and it was bittersweet to leave. Thanks ever so much for having us! ~Carrie, Barb, and Nancy~

Our week at the Riverfront Cottage was a picture perfect getaway for my husband, Dog and I! We stayed at the cottage for a week as a work/relax get away. during the days, we both toiled aways and had no problem with the Wifi, and still enjoyed relaxing breakfasts, walks, and breaks at the cottage while our pup would sunbath on the porch, and on the evenings and weekends we got out and about in Jenner, Guernvillie, and just hanging out in the cottage, grilling, cooking and reading in the wonderful daybed nook. it felt extra special to be able to wake up early and do a morning canoe before a 9am meeting. the hottub was wonderful for an evening wind down and stargazing on a clear night, and we even played a few rounds of Cornhole! Watching the door, quail, and foxes trot by from the patio was a favorite activity of our pups. Not only is the home beautiful and cozy, but feels like it has a soul. not just a rental house with the bare minmum. But that people visit, play, connect, unwind and bond over food and activities there. its a beautiful space we Hope to come back to!

We left a valuable item behind and are so thankful that MamaK retrieved it for us and worked it out with us to retrieve it. We really appreciate that Karen Its a very cozy place. What’s not to like when you are lounging in the outdoor clawfoot bathtub, at 7am, listening to cows, a rooster and lots of birds, as deer saunter by in the yard. The hot tub was very clean and the unit was very well provisioned. Uniquely and tastefully decorated. We head to the area at least once a year but have never stayed in Duncan Mills but this will be our go to place from now on. And by the way, visit the bakery there, the baker there bakes up super good pastries and stuffed lunch croissants

Premier rental property

I have stayed @ countless VRBO properties stateside and abroad. This property is the “Maybach” of rental properties. Our entire party appreciated the eclectic, beautiful decor/artwork. We all appreciated the attention to detail in providing any thing a client might need to be comfortable inside or outside of the home. We will absolutely return and stay longer next time!

Great house

Nice house that appears to be a recent remodel. Everything was new, clean and comfortable. Lots of amenities with private access to the river, hot tub and great outdoor lounging area. One thing to note is that the 2 bedrooms are in completely separate buildings. Not really an issue other than the fact we were traveling with our 5yo. We didn’t feel comfortable having her sleep alone as we wouldn’t be able to hear her if she woke up in the night. But if your kids are older then having a separate space might be a blessing.

Duncan’s mills is a great location near to both the coast and Russian river. Loved being right on the river! Karen’s property is beautiful and it exceeded our expectations. She’s very thoughtful and the property reflects that. Will definitely return!

Winter on the River

The house is impeccably decorated and full of all the things you need to have a great trip. Our son loved the yard, swing and hot tub! Would absolutely stay again.
