The space

Just off the historic Santa Fe Trail centrally located in Great Bend you'll find this old beauty with an extensive makeover. Soak up the character of this home built in 1929 that has been lovingly restored. You will enjoy the mix of old time charm and modern conveniences with original refinished hardwoods, custom cabinets, quartz countertops, stylish decor, water softener, and all the modern conveniences for a 5 star stay. It's a great marriage of classic and new! Our home is pet friendly so don't leave Fido behind! We are conveniently located between all of the fun things to do and between Cheyenne Bottoms and Quivira National Wildlife Refuge for all you hunters and bird watchers.

Guest access

Our home has three bedrooms and two baths along with the beautiful fully stocked kitchen, stylish living room, patio, along with a desk for office space. There is an extra fold up twin bed in case someone doesn't wish to share a bed. Our property is pet friendly, however the yard is not completely fenced, and open on the sides of the property.

Other things to note

Free parking on the street, in the two car garage or in the driveway behind the garage. Guest entrance is the front door with keypad. There is a rear entrances as well if you park in the garage. You will have to gain access to the property at the front door with the keyless entry pad.

Adorable little house, in a beautifully maintained neighborhood. Checkin went fine, however when we returned on the 2nd day, we had issues with the front door knob. Locking mechanism was fine, but door would not open. We spent about 20 minutes, with 3 different people attempting to get into the house at 8:00 at night. The problem continued the remainder of our stay. Definitely need to fix the missing pavers on the front porch. The porch light is extremely dim, and the missing pavers are a safety concern. The house was very clean, with the exception of the wall vents, which could use a good clean. They were essentially out of, and there didn't seem to be any supply that we were able to find, of things like toilet paper, dishwasher and dish soap, and we did replace the shower curtain in the basement, and some light bulbs. Otherwise, all amenities were as stated. Overall, we had a great time. We were back for a Larned HS reunion, and it was a convenient location in a lovely neighborhood.

Difficult to find the house number at night as the outside light was very dim and dirty. Upon entry, noticed a sofa cover that was not all the way on. Also noticed broken plantation shutters in the dining room barely hanging on. Nightstand in the south bedroom needed wiped down from previous guests. Bathroom trash on main level had not been dumped prior to our arrival. The faux plant was very dusty that was located on the night stand. The roman blinds directly above that bed were very dusty (very noticeable) as was the wood molding around the window. Shower doors on main floor were dirty. Not enough towels were placed out for us so had to go hunting for additional towels and found some in a very unorganized and dirty looking hall closet. There were no bath towels downstairs when my son went to use the shower. There was only one hanger in the north bedroom and no iron or ironing board in the house. I went to a hotel where my brother was staying to use his iron and ironing board. Beds were very comfortable. Overall, nice spacious rooms, but just needs some TLC when it comes to cleanliness and replacing broken shades, etc. We were surprised to find the sofa cover half off and not like the pictures online. Quiet neighborhood and great location.

The house was fine but the pans to cook with were pretty sad. The skillets coating are gone and everything sticks even with coating before. The one cookie sheet should be replaced, not a decent pan. Also could use a bowl for a salad, nothing large enough to put a salad in.

Pictures deceiving

Good location, older home. Floors squeak with every step. You can hear everything that’s going on in every part of the house. The pics online make the rooms look a lot bigger than they are. The basement room smelled musty, had one ceiling panel missing, and another that looked like it was buckled with moisture.

Beautiful Place

Came to Great Bend for Chemo treatments for my Mother, this place is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood. We loved just relaxing! The coffee little bar was a great add on for us since we had to get up early and head out

Beautiful property needs some maintenance

Beautiful neighborhood, check in process a little messed up, but wonderful neighbors got us in. Need to fix the missing bricks in the front and back steps, very dangerous. We had our 93 year old mother with us, she had to be very careful. Great house, cleanliness was lacking, we enjoyed our stay, but has potential to be a 4 star property, with maintenance and better cleaning. The neighbors are absolutely wonderful!

Family Time

Came to town for a family reunion so four of us stayed at the house. Was very nice and very clean. Had a small hiccup with check in as the code had been changed from the listing but the owner was very responsive and it was quickly resolved. Great neighborhood and generous parking in back of the property. It has two nice rooms on the main floor with one shared bathroom so I am not sure if would sleep comfortably 8 as listed but it was very comfortable for four with the second bathroom in the basement. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect place for my stay!

I rented this little house for a week when I was in from out of state for a funeral. It was exactly as described, and perfect for what I needed! The host was responsive and easy to communicate with. I had zero issues while there. There was a garage in back that I was able to park my car which was nice because it snowed one day. It was in a nice central location and the street had adorable houses on it! It was a quiet street and I felt safe the entire time. Would definitely stay here again.

In town for niece's wedding

It is a beautiful old house with great accommodations. It was a block from our nephew's house and a block from our niece's. Nice location. I had issues with the lock on the front door but pretty sure it was operator error!! It was exactly as promised. Very nice and served our purpose perfectly!!

Beautiful property!

House was fantastic and had great communication with owner. Loved the backyard pergola area with chairs and table, which was a pleasant surprise. Only thing I would suggest is consider more like 6 adults.

Super Cozy!

Chad was gracious enough to let us film an interview at his home. The location matched the description on his profile perfectly. It's a charming and cozy spot in the Great Bend area, and the crew was quite pleased with it. Chad was also very accommodating and had excellent communication throughout.
