we visited St. Thomas for our anniversary. I knew from the photos that the unit wasn’t updated or too modern. What we got was exactly what we needed, and then some-the place is huge for just two people. It was clean and comfortable! Everything you could think of was there. A basket of sunscreen, beach towel (only one, but it was huge-beach blanket really) floats, grill, dishes, cookware, washer and dryer, TWO FULL BATHROOMS!!! Being ground floor and a little further back, the view wasn’t the best, but you could be at the ocean within maybe a minutes walk. And that water is STUNNING!!! The area is incredible! There is a pizza shop, breakfast café, fancy seafood restaurant and a beach bar. All with amazing food and drinks!! The vibes of the area were perfect. Being in March, we are always worried about rowdy spring break crowds. There was none. It was not too busy or too loud. The music the restaurants played was perfect to vibe and still have conversation. I’d love to visit this area again. I’ve been back home a week and half and still on a vacay high. St. Thomas is absolutely gorgeous! The resort had lounge chairs included and you don’t even need umbrellas bc of the huge sea grape trees. We snorkled a little. Never really saw anything. Floated a LOT. We brought a few things to Kerry’s attention after we left. He is actively working on improvements of the unit. The grounds are beautiful and I’m so happy we were able to stay here for a wonderful trip.

Good location – sad condo and disengaged owner This unit has seen way better days and needs a lot of TLC. VRBO should have standards that would not allow this unit to be listed on their site in its current condition. The weather continues to deteriorate a very well-worn unit. It appears that there is also no property manager looking after the place. I was told several times by the owner while trying to check in that since he was not there to take care of things what did we expect him to do? There is no one local to contact for any matters. We had to contact the owner before we even got into the unit as we were having difficulty getting the inside door unlocked. He said it should had been fixed and that since he was not there he couldn’t really do anything. It turned out that the 2nd entry door wasn’t locked but was just very stuck due to its age and weather corrosion as was the sliding door that we were able to shimmy open to get inside. When we walked through the sliding door the blinds started to come down (we didn’t touch them the rest of the week for fear they would). We then opened the door (the lock has wires coming out from it) and a hurricane shutter window and frame came off.We then saw that the unit was not cleaned from the prior guest. This was at 6:00 on Sunday night. How can the owner not know that the unit wasn’t cleaned??? Shouldn’t they have checked to make sure it was done knowing that guests were arriving? Called the owner back – he said it should

A true Gem

Very comfortable king bed. Couches in living area were comfortable. Very nice having 2 bathrooms. Both showers were good,although we liked 1 better. They only thing that would make this condo easier for seniors would be a walk in shower.

We can not thank the owner Kerry, enough for his communication, flexibility and kindness. Location of this unit is ideal. The beach area is private and there are always chairs available and room on the beach.

Gotta get away

Property was decent, specific condo was dated and a little worn down. Great beach access and overall location. Was not happy that during the day the condo would get up to 77-78 degrees unless the thermostat detected motion. Not a great feeling to keep coming back to a hot condo and have to wait for it to cool down. Especially at night. Overall, good for a family on a budget, but not what I’m used to on St Thomas.

We upgraded the air-conditioning system, in the condo, several years ago and at the urging of the local electric utility have been using a smart thermostat ever since. When we upgraded the air-conditioning system we over sized the compressor by 50%. We replaced a two ton comptessor with a three ton compressor. We did this in order to reduce the time needed to recovery from a higher Eco temperature setting back to the original temperature setting. The National Eco temperature setting recommendation is between 76 and 90 degrees. Ours is set to the minimum 76 degrees which is only 4 degrees warmer then the lower end of the National everyday temperature setting recommendation. Actually our Eco temperature setting of 76 degrees is within the National everyday setting recomendation of between 72 and 78 degrees. The oversized air-conditioning system in our condo is generally able to return the temperature, to whatever was set before the Eco function was activated, in less then 30 minutes. I am sorry that you found this unsatisfactory even after I explained it to you. We have been using the smart thermostat for over 5 years and yours is our first complaint.

We enjoyed the fact that we were so close to the beach, just a walk across the lawn. The condo complex is older and there are a lot of chickens and roosters (bring your earplugs if you are a light sleeper) and a pond in the middle of the lawn which attracts ducks and shorebirds. There were plenty of lounge chairs at the beach, which has both shade and sun. The condo comes equipped with absolutely everything, including tennis rackets, floaty toys, snorkeling gear and beach towels. There are 2 or 3 restaurants you can walk to, but to get to the main Red Hook shopping area you probably need to go by car as the road is not really safe to walk on.

TheBest Vaction EVER!

I stayed at this wonderful condo for a week in January. It was fabulous. The location was amazing. 60 seconds to the beach is accurate. I literally rolled out of bed threw on the trucks and went for a swim while the coffee brewed. At night, we always had a blast in Red hook, 5 minutes away, or in St. Johns, a 10 minute beautiful ferry ride from Red Hook. The condo was beautiful, why anyone would spend 400 a night at the Marriott is beyond me. This particular condo is in amazing shape, it is obviously well cared for. I had a full size kitchen, King sized bed, Living room, porch and two big flat panel TV’s...and I was 100 steps from being in the water. I am heading back and this is where I will be staying. Thank You for sharing your treasure with us.

Beautiful location; Sad Condo

If you are more concerned about living on one of the best beaches in the world, this can be your spot. If staying in a well kept, fairly modern condo is really important, then find another place. Arrived to find broken glass door louvers, glass pieces on the floor, and a stove and refrigerator that goodwill wouldn't accept. Stove and fridge did work and AC and washer/dryer worked fine. Could not get the living room TV to operate. The reports by our guests to their families were embarassing.

I could not agree more that our beach at Crystal Cove is “one of the best beaches in the world” and that our condo is perfectly located. I apologize if you found some items not as they should be upon your arrival. We strive very hard to make sure everything is just right for our guests but can't fix what we do not know about. This is the reason I request, in my welcoming email, that you “contact me immediately if something is not as it should be”. You arrived on Monday March 22 but did not report a problem until late afternoon on Tuesday March 30, 2021. Because of the late notice I was unable the address your problems until the next day but as you acknowledged in your email, to me, the maintenance people did a good job fixing the door and cleaning up the broken glass. I am sorry you had to live with broken glass for over a week but as I said I can not fix what I do not know about. Next time please report any problems ASAP. I am sorry that you were not happy with our stove and refrigerator. I am not sure what you were expecting but I do know that you found both the stove and the refrigerator to be clean and in perfect working order. Unfortunately, the salt air environment in the islands necessitates that appliance or anything for that matter be constant cleaned by scrubbing with harsh chemicals that adversely effects the finish. Thankyou for staying with us.

Listing not accurate

Nice location but condo listing regarding beds was not accurate. The Murphy beds were replaced with sofa beds which were not very comfortable. Also, no curtain or shades for living room area where the sofa beds were. This was unexpected and disappointing. The condo has recently been renovated but the back entry had broken and missing boards on the fence. This should be a quick fix to improve overall first impression when arriving. The beach was very nice and our requests for sheets for sofa and TV problems were answered promptly. Also, not feasible to walk to Red Hook so must take cabs always so would tecommend getting car.

Gorgeous location for our winter getaway

This condo was perfect for escaping winter! This condo is just as it says - ground floor100 feet from the beach. Paradise Beach is quiet with a great reef for amazing snorkeling just a short swim from shore. It was shallow enough that even my husband, who hasn't in the past enjoyed snorkeling, was comfortable enough to enjoy the large variety of fish and coral. We were pleased that there was someone in charge of the beach who kept it clean and quiet - no cruise people invading for the day. It's a just short drive to Red Hook for dinner and the ferry to St. John. The condo itself was decorated in blues and whites, very beachy. The furniture was comfy and the kitchen was equipped for cooking, although all we did was breakfast and lunches, and those we had on the lanai enjoying the beach feel even there. The owners provided information about the area and were very responsive to our questions. It really was a wonderful place to "unthaw", relax and enjoy the warm, sunny days and the beach!

Thank you very much for your kind words. We agree Sapphire Beach is Paradise. We like to think of it as our little piece of paradisewe. We are happy to share our piece of paradise with our guests because we know how much it means to them when they are looking for a winter getaway. My favorite experiences snorkeling along Sapphire beach's reef is seeing turtles and Eagle Rays. There is somthing special about floating along watching the turtles in their natural enviorment and occasionally seeing a Eagle Ray fly.

Amazing Location

This property is in an amazing location and is a little larger than I expected. The main bedroom also has a couch in it. The living room easily slept my 3 kids with the 2 pull down beds and the couch. There was a futon in the front room that wasn't in the air conditioner that we didn't use. Another huge bonus was really how close this is to a beautiful beach. There were chairs for use and trees to sit under for some shade. I also didn't realize this was located beside another resort that actually shares the same beach. It was never too crowded, but also gave access to food and drinks on the beach. My family enjoyed pizza one afternoon while we were there. The only reason I can't fully give this a 5 star rating is because the pool was closed for cleaning while we were there and we.were not notified of that before hand. Not a deal breaker, but my kids do like some pool time. Overall, I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Breezy beach with beautiful views compensates for lackluster accommodations.

As vacationers at this beach condo complex for nearly 40 years we went back for its tranquil tropical setting, clear and calm turquoise waters, refreshing breezes, and verdant views of nearby St. John and the British VI. By that measure we got the expected - save the multiple noisy and lengthy heavy equipment visits to deliver and remove beachside construction size dumpsters filled with massive quantities of sea weed (over which no one obviusly had any control). Unexpected however was the worn, outdated and less than clean condition of the unit - ceiling light fixtures with quantities of dead bugs collected inside, a tub of fetid water under kitchen sink due to inoperable, leaky garbage disposal on arrival, broken/missing vertical blinds, non-functioning & rusty nightstand reading lamp, broken sliding glass patio door handle, rusted Murphy bed mattress springs, accumulated dust and grit in bathroom medicine cabinets, unbearably noisy bathroom exhaust fan, lack of properly working ceiling light fixture in bedroom, poorly re-painted control panel on the vintage electric stove, the living/dining area quite cramped with mismatched furnishings, the late-night heavy footsteps and sounds of furniture being moved around in the unit above - a mention of which to management brought relief, for one night - and the unkempt and damaged parking area behind the unit, to name few. While aware before arriving that there was no dishwasher (not an issue since we took most meals out), that 'modern amenity' is probably overdue. Having stayed at and otherwise seen a good number of other units in the complex, given these issues, this one by far ranks at the low end of our experience. We have enjoyed much, much better in the past, and would not rent this unit again.

So beautiful

My husband and I went for our 35th anniversary and his 60th birthday. The condo was very clean and nice. It had all the basic amenities and was very close to the beach. We had a little glitch with the TV and the owner was very responsive. The beach was gorgeous!! That is where we spent all of our time. The snorkeling was wonderful. I saw sea turtles not very far from shore. There is a beach bar right on the beach that had food and drinks. We did not try it but many people around us did. The community was very quiet, which is what we like. I would definitely go back because 4 full days was not enough

Excellent location! Love the secluded beach, restaurant/bar and coffee shop. The actual condo could use some updates and thorough cleaning but overall didn’t spend much time inside so it met our needs.

We really enjoyed being so near the beach. The reefs were amazing for snorkeling from the. Each everyday!

The location of this property on Sapphire Beach was beautiful and perfect for our needs. I appreciated there were loungers cleaned and on the beach, and beach towels, snorkeling gear and all beach supplies provided by the owner. It is not fancy or luxe, but affordable and well suited for a mom traveling with teens. I will be dreaming about the view for weeks to come and hope to return someday!

If you are looking for the perfect oceanfront location - look no further. This property is on the most beautiful beach on St. Thomas. Every time we explored other beaches, our whole family (teenagers included) would want to go back to "our" beach. It has beautiful water with a mosaic of color, the best snorkeling, sun AND shade - thanks to the grape trees, an AMAZING view along with plenty of beach chairs and no crowds! Even better is the fact that you can walk just a bit up the beach to a nice beach bar/restaurant with an amazing view. (You can go in your barefeet.) A little further up is the Marina which we all loved strolling to at night to check out the boats and it was super easy to walk over to jet ski, parasasil or take a day adventure. Also Red Hook ferry is VERY close and convenient so you can take a trip to other islands and we loved eating at Sudhi's which is also just up the beach and very casual. It was great for our teen boys to be able to explore a bit on their own vs being confined to one house/property - they loved it! The owners are great and attended to our every need before and during our trip. They answered a ton of questions and were SUPER accommodating. The vibe here is friendly and chill - very relaxing - all of the other condo owners seemed nice and welcoming. We mis it already!
