Lake Erie Escape - Erie, PA

Escape the daily routine on the cliffs of Lake Erie! Located across the channel from Presque Isle Beach 11, the views are incredible! Guests will love the thoughtful amenities and beautiful neighborhood.

Built in 1938, this FLW- inspired ranch is a perfect gathering space. Grand family room wrapped in mahogany with soaring ceilings and space for everyone! The window from dining room provides an endless supply of living art with awesome views of the Great Lake. Guests will love the bright kitchen, well-stocked with espresso machine and Keurig coffees and kitchen basics. The kitchen opens up to a sprawling deck, professionally maintained lawn with automated sprinkler system. The house sits atop a very steep 80’ cliff above Lake Erie, with no fence or barrier. We do not recommend allowing any young children (or wild adults) to play unattended in back yard.

Home has two full bathrooms fully stocked with fine shampoo/conditioners, soaps and linens. Three bedrooms with ultra comfortable beds, soft bedding and simple Lakeside decor. There is also a flexible room between family room and kitchen with access to the front porch. This space is great for working remote and a Queen pull-out sofa for extra sleeping options.

Located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Erie, PA. There is a public pavilion and beach- full of beach glass- just a short walk away at the corner of Lakeside and Chautauqua Blvd. It is an adventure to get down to the beach, along a rooted path, adding to its hidden gem allure! HOUSE RULES: Please count all visitors at time of booking.

Please respect the neighborhood and practice quiet time beginning at 10 pm. No smoking, vaping, pets or illegal activity - $500 fee.

Guest must reserve with accurate count of people in their group. NO additional visitors permitted on property- whether staying or not. Hosts and staff live nearby.

We certainly enjoyed our stay. This is our third year and the experience is always great. This year we were on the lake side, so the view was fantastic! Janelle always goes the extra mile to make sure our stay is memorable. We couldn't ask for a better experience. Looking forward to next year.

Janelle was an amazing and attentive host before during and after our stay. The home was just that, a home; very comfortable and relaxing. Everything you could possibly need was provided. The property was immaculate inside and out. Our entire family loved the stay and felt very relaxed throughout it. The view and sun sets were breath taking. Thank you Janelle!!! We will be back :)

This is our second time staying at Lake Erie Escape. The house and view are beautiful! The kitchen is well equipped for all your needs. The neighborhood is great for walking and close to everything. We had a wonderful time!

Generational Family Vacation

Very peaceful and relaxing with back porch and windows overlooking Lake Erie. Plenty of room to spread out and all have our own space. Nice quite neighborhood.

A wonderful home to reconnect with family and enjoy the beautiful shores of Lake Erie.

We grew up in Erie, and enjoyed a wonderful mini-vacation back in our hometown. Janelle's property was the perfect location to reunite with family while enjoying and reliving our childhood memories. She was very responsive and accommodating so as to make our stay a comfortable and memorable one. Morning coffee on the back patio with a refreshing breeze, was a perfect way to wake up in the morning and begin our day's adventure. Bike riding around the Presque Isle peninsula, blueberry picking, visiting Waldameer Park, playing on the sandy beaches, treating ourselves to Sara's ice cream (nearly every day!) and exploring the bay front area, We have traveled to many countries, and as for the Lake Erie sunsets, they are unlike any others in the world!

Beautiful Location

We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay. Beautiful home and grounds. We brought our grandkids and they loved the huge lawn - lots of running space! Janelle was fantastic! We managed to lock ourselves out and she was over right away to get us in. Super important with tired babies who needed to nap! She went the extra mile to make sure we could set up some outdoor play items we brought for our grandkids. Everyone had a great time and especially enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets. The views from the bedrooms were incredible. Would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again if we ever bring the whole family back again!!

This house was pretty great! Enough space for our family of 7! The views were literally picture perfect! You can not beat the stunning views of Lake Erie. My husband and I grew up on Lake Michigan in WI so it was very cool to visit another Great Lake! It was a great house to slow down and be able to make meals and enjoy eating with a view. Overall pretty great house with everything we needed. The only probably I had is that the beach with glass rocks was not as advertised. It was a short walk but it was not very accessible, a steep walk down, and it was very sketchy.. dead fish everywhere, like big dead fish. Lots of rocks not really glass rocks. And not idea for any kind of swimming. We ended up swimming at the isle which was also ok.

Wonderful stay!

We rented this property for my son’s Graduation weekend from Mercyhurst University. Several family members came in town for it and hosted a celebration dinner. We had our own spaces! Unfortunately the weather very nice to be able to enjoy the views more. It is situated in a nice neighborhood. Well equipped kitchen, also had games for us to play together! Responsive owner.

Beautiful Home, Beautiful Weekend

This house was perfect for our stay in Erie. Gathering for my parent's memorial service, we needed multiple houses in Erie to help accommodate our family and Janelle's properties were ideal. Not only was this house located with a beautiful view of Lake Erie, but it had an open floor plan that was perfect for our traveling guests. Janelle is a gracious host who always responded quickly to any questions or request. I highly recommend this property and will reach out to Janelle again the next time we visit the Erie area. Great location for an Erie stay

First off, Janelle was a fabulous host who went the extra mile more than once. We were returning to Erie after decades away and the only place to go seemed to be Lakeside Drive. What a location! The property was a cut above and then some. The neighborbood was lovely. The house had everything you might need for a self-contained vacation. Except maybe a "tea kettle" for us Brits (which we'd just call a kettle) but this was swiftly provided on request. Highly recommended. These are great people working hard to lift Erie into a higher strata when it comes to destinations you want to visit. All mod cons and more than a hint of luxury. Hoping it isn't so long before returning, I'd unquestionably book again.

Loved it!!

We loved the location, yard and house! The guide book located in the kitchen directed us to good places to eat. The owner responded very quickly to any questions. We also enjoyed the wide selection of K-cups. Sunsets were incredible and the house was very clean and comfortable. This was perfect for our stay and we almost wished we didn't have to leave for the 2nd portion of our trip. Will stay here again if our travels take us to the Erie area. Thank you again!

Best Sunset Views in Erie

The backyard patio is wonderful to enjoy the gorgeous sunsets. The location is convenient to the Erie Zoo and Presque Isle. Our host, Janelle, made sure the amenities were top notch, and everything was clean. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The house was beautiful with fantastic views. We were unfortunate enough to hit a very rainy day and then the Canadian fire smoke hit. Still went out to eat at some fabulous restaurants and played board games and watched movies. Well located. Would recommend.
