Convenient location, relaxed atmosphere, close beaches, and good food nearby!

This is an affordable Michigan cottage that sleeps up to 6 people. It has window A/C units, gas furnace, keyless & contactless entry, complete kitchen, outdoor space, and comes professionally cleaned and sanitized with fresh linens, towels, coffee station with grounds, and basic soaps.

We have updated many parts of the cottage (see pictures) and continue to do so, however the cottage will show its age and character at times. If you are looking for a white-glove experience, this may not be the best option for you. However, if you are looking for a clean , comfortable, & affordable space, very close to beaches, sitting on 1-acre of green land and well-positioned between Saint Joseph & South Haven (in a quiet area of Hagar Shores), with all of the amenities of a home, this is a great option for your stay!

Cozy 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house sleeps up to 6 guests (2nd bedroom is a loft with 4 twin beds) and is fully furnished. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and there is a sleeper sofa next to the bed in the master along with a regular sofa in the family room.

Full Kitchen, gas stove, fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. Brand new 55" Smart TV (Amazon FireTV) in the family room for streaming services.

This property is situated on a nice 3/4 acre parcel and there is plenty of open space outside for activities and big shade trees.

Located 15 minutes from St. Joseph and 20 minutes from South Haven .8 miles from beach access. Key code access ,Wifi, flat screen with roku.
No parties or events allowed.
No smoking allowed.
No unregistered guests allowed.
Please don’t eat or drink in the bedrooms.
Please respect the noise curfew.
Please turn off the AC when you go out.
Please respect check-in and check-out times.
Please take care of the furnishings. You have to pay for damages.

Fantastic Location!

If you are a beach-goer, there are several Lake Michigan options within a very short distance! No complaints about the rental. Excellent accommodations! Host responds immediately!

Perfect for our week at the Lake

The property was easy to find, directly off the main road, and great parking right next to our cottage. There were 6 of us total and the space was perfect for what we needed it for. The owner was VERY responsive to my emails with questions. It was right next to the lake and such easy driving everywhere we went. If we go back to Lake Michigan we would stay there again.

Great location to st joe and south haven.

A lot to do and great location. Upstairs was a litttle risky with toddlers. Steep stair but overall happy we found this house.

Terrible Bed and loud highway noise

We found the mattress to be unacceptable and the Blue Star Highway noise was excessively loud. We were exhausted and sore by the time we left the house. We contemplated ending our vacation a day early so we could get rest and relaxation at home. Additionally, we found ourselves driving back and forth to St Joe or South Haven throughout our trip. It’s walking distance to a pizza joint and that’s about it. Drew’s description is accurate about being right off the road, however we didn’t think it would be as bad as it was. There were lots of Harley’s waking us up throughout every night! We still feel disbelief in the amount of money we spent for this experience.

Great summer getaway

The house is a charming bungalow-type. Older but clean and comfy with painted wood floors throughout. It's very close to Lk Michigan but across the highway and is not really possible to walk to the lake. The host was very responsive and check in and out was easy. It suited our purposes perfectly.

Great Family rental

Our family of 5 liked that the kids had their room upstairs with separate beds. Loved it was centrally located to visit many beautiful beaches just a short drive away.

South Haven get away

We stayed in South Haven for a wedding but did get to experience some of the activities in the surrounding area. Andrew was very kind and helpful and communicated promptly. There is a lot to see and do with shops and restaurants in town about 15 minutes away. There is a park and beach a couple miles from from the property as well. We collected a few stones and then enjoyed some time at the outdoor fire pit. The cottage is rustic in the construction and has that summer laid back feel. The air conditioning units in the windows and kitchen were adequate. The cottage was swept and cleaned with fresh sheets and clean dishes and bathroom but not sparkly deep cleaned . We enjoyed our stay and we’re pleased with Drew’s friendly and kind attitude towards us. Nice place to visit!

Created memories!

Created memories! My wife myself and our two adult daughters stayed at the property and had a very enjoyable time. The two floor layout was perfect for our size family. The cottage has some miles on it, but it is clear to see that the owner is rapidly making improvements. Everything was clean, which is very important to us. The location was A1 with easy access to beaches, St. Joseph, etc. Animportant part of our visit was sitting by the fire at night and the owner was kind enough to supply some “seed” firewood to get us started. We would very much enjoy returning at some point.

Not what we were looking for

Unfortunately my family and I really did not care for this property. Firstly, until shortly before arrival, we did not know that it was an attached residence. Not exactly what I had been expecting, maybe I read the listing incorrectly. The house was overall clean and looked like it appeared in pictures, however there was an bad smell that was made worse by the fact that only one window fully opened. There was standing water in the lower level. Outside there was a table and grill but the area was overgrown, the table was in rough shape and the grill was moldy inside. The house served its purpose but I would not go back.

Coloma cottage

Bright cottage located off main road in Coloma. Be advised, it is not a single dwelling- it’s connected to another and has two other small cottages seemingly in a shared yard. You drive up that yard to get to the front of the cottage. We did not spend much time in the cottage (breakfast, sleeping and showers only), and it fit the bill for those purposes. There were issues with water heating up and staying warm, but owner was quick to respond when messaged. Overall, I would recommend as a spot for families or groups of young friends to crash in the area. Thanks for the stay.

Sweet getaway!

Lovely cottage with everything you need. It is close to St. Joseph-about 10 minutes drive. We really enjoyed the small, intimate beach at Roadside Park. The sunsets were stunning. We had a great time. Communication with the owner was excellent. Thank you!

Comfortable and cute house, good location, with just a few things to work out

I stayed there with 5 friends, and we enjoyed our stay. The house was cute and accommodated all of us. It was an easy 15 minute walk (or a VERY short drive) to the lake. We really enjoyed the yard games and fire pit they provided:). It could've used more toilet paper, because we ran out pretty early during our stay and had to buy more. And maybe another dish towel or two in the kitchen. The house also has a basement and is connected to two small houses, which we didn't know before our stay. We had a bit of trouble with the wifi, and just used our phone wifi hotspots. The owners were thorough and prompt in communication and answering texts. They gave us good suggestions of places to go or things to do during our stay, which we appreciated. We enjoyed our stay together and made good memories. All around I would suggest this house!

Excellent Stay

Drew is always prompt in getting back with me. Rentals are always kept clean and efficient. I appreciate the home away from home atmosphere being a travel nurse.

We have been travelling to Southwest Michigan for summer vacations and winter getaways for years to enjoy everything this area has to offer. The sandy beaches, small town charm, plethora of wineries, relaxed lake setting, and beautiful sunsets are only a small sample of what drew us here. Finally, a couple of years ago, we were able to move permanately to the area and call Southwest Michigan home. We are now excited for you to share memorable experiences in this little slice of heaven!

This property reminds us of the cozy cottages that we used to stay in when traveling to this area. Built decades ago and newly renovated, this cottage offers all of the amenities you need while reserving the relaxed, quaint setting that you yearn for when visiting the lake.

Known for its sandy beaches and dense woods, Hagar Shores is conveniently located right north of Saint Joseph and just south of South Haven. There is a pizza & burger place right across the street that is walkable. There is also a Dollar General about a 1/2 mile up the road for any last minute needs.

The cottage sits right off of two lane highway M-63. M-63/Blue Star Highway offers the scenic route connecting St. Joseph and South Haven. Along this route you will have convenient access to free public beaches , state parks and bike trails. While our area is generally a quiet location, the convenient Blue Star Highway may have peak times of road noise.

The fast WiFi allows you to work while onsite, or stream movies on the Roku stick included on the TV. There are many outdoor offerings at the cottage, including a fire pit, hammocks, picnic area, and corn hole boards. We encourage you to relax, settle in, and make yourself at home ... and most importantly, remember that you will now be on Lake Time!
