Vallecito has two restaurants and two small stores. One of the restaurants and the General Store are a 3-minute walk from the cabin. If you need a lot of groceries for your stay, we recommend shopping at one of the grocery stores in Durango on your way to the cabin. Weminuche Woodfire Grill (Bar & Restaurant), Vallecito Lake Country Market (lunches/ small store) 18071 CR 501. There is a small market, Family Dollar, and Dollar General in Bayfield. If you plan to do a big shop, we recommend you go to Albertsons, City Market, or Walmart in Durango. There is a small General Store (Rocky Mountain General Store) in Vallecito, which is good for a quick need or an unexpected craving. It would not be economical to do a “big “shop there. They do have a deli and make sandwiches! There is a small Liquor store next to the General Store with Beer, Wine, & Spirits. They close at 7 pm. Please note that the General Store and Liquor Store are closed every Tuesday.
Vallecito Reservoir - Parking permits are required to park around Vallecito Lake. Permits can be purchased at local businesses $3 per day or $30 for an annual permit (there is no fee to walk to the lake) .
Fishing – A fishing license is required for everyone over 16. They can be purchased at Quite family friendly neighborhood. Trash pick-up is on Wednesday, no cleaning products with scents such as FABULOUSO OR PINE SOL, etc., are used; we use free and clear products.
We kindly ask you to read our house rules carefully and keep them in mind during your stay:
1. This is a quiet neighborhood, and sound travels. No parties or events allowed.
2. No smoking allowed of any kind (not 420 friendly).
3. No pets allowed.
4. No unregistered guests allowed overnight.
5. Please respect our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum after dark.
8. Please take extra care of your keys.
9. Please take care of the furnishings. There are lake towels in the front coat closet. Do not remove good towels or blankets, etc from the house – you will be charged.
10. Do not allow children outside unattended.
