We rented both spaces for my daughter’s wedding party/guests. They are beautiful homes and a lot of space available. We did the wedding rehearsal there and had plenty if space to do so. The venue was right around the corner. Many of the wedding party were so happy that they Stated they would rent for themselves for a family getaway! We loved our stay. Thank you!!

Relaxing Creek Experience

We could not be happier with our stay. If you’re looking for a remote feeling while being close to several towns and restaurants this is the perfect place. The cottage was immaculate and the sound of the rushing water from the creek is still in our minds. We will definitely be returning next year!

Beautiful house & location!

My two friends and I stayed in this comfortable and well appointed house for a week. The location next to the waterfall and rushing creek is so unique and serene! Robin was very accommodating and responsive to questions before and during our stay. Highly recommend The Retreat!

Beautiful Retreat from the Bustle of Life

We stayed four nights at Firefly Falls Retreat. During the day we attended the Madison-Bouckville Antique Show which was a great deal of walking, so coming home to the sound of the water on the rocks and the nice cool shaded home was wonderful.

You Will Not Want To Leave!

Firefly Falls is simply wonderful!The Retreat is so spacious, beautifully decorated and filled with so many amenities-everything is very thoughtful and made us feel completely at home! The setting, property and especially the sound of the creek will have you relaxed in no time! Only about 17mins from Colgate University and close to so many restaurants and sights. We cannot wait to return! Robin and Keith thank you for being so helpful and for sharing your beautiful home!

Fantastic Location

Great house in a fantastic location. Everything was spotless and new. We loved listening to the sound of the waterfall in the evenings. Very relaxing. I would highly recommend this property. No need to contact the hosts during our visit as everything was so well organized and easy - but I am sure they are wonderful.

Stay at Firefly Falls retreat

A well equipped 3 bedroom home in a beautiful location. Spacious deck overlooking Oneida Creek with waterfalls in the background. Lovely landscaping with mature plantings. In a somewhat remote location so must really pay attention when returning at night to find the entrance. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful lovely place

A little slice of heaven

This was our second stay at Firefly! It’s our absolute favorite! We love being nestled in peace and surrounded by nature! Our two boys play travel baseball, travel soccer, and flag football. Needless to say, we had a very busy spring! Our takeaway from Firefly is that it gave us time to unplug and reconnect as a family!

Just What We Needed

For once the view and property were better than the pictures! A beautiful retreat in a fairytale forest with an enchanted stream just outside your windows. The musical flow of the water was a perfect lullaby at night. The retreat is perfectly designed for aesthetics, functionality and beauty. Every inch of space is well designed and utilized that creates the feeling of home and comfort that prevails throughout. By the end of our weekend, the stress was gone and we felt rested and ready to take on Monday's challenges.

Simply Awesome Experience at the Waterfall

This house was wonderful. You can hear the waterfall from the house, and it provided a very appreciated soothing ambience. We were in the area for a destination wedding. I was so glad that we choice this option instead of the Casino hotels where others in the wedding party stayed. The owners were wonderful. I had a small panic when we first got to the house, and I lost Cell Phone coverage ... but once I connected to the included WiFi it kept me connected across the property. Lots of games, cable TV and a great kitchen as well. I highly recommend this location for those that love the outdoors and want to have a restful stay.

Beautiful place and surroundings! A nice place to unwind before/after the wedding/reception we went to. Would love to stay here again! Just an fyi, we have T-Mobile and our reception was sketchy at best. We couldn't even text. However, no big deal! Once we figured out the gas fireplace inside (thanks for the email response!) we loved it with the cool, wet weather! I also loved knitting in the chair between the big window and fireplace! Very relaxing.

Yep, Verizon service is perfect and we call the ADK chairs at the end of the driveway the AT&T Cafe! It is what it is in the woods, but we love it!

Perfect restful retreat

This property was exactly as represented on the website. The house was welcoming and homey and had everything you could need. The host has literally thought of everything. Two things I wish I had paid more attention to where that there was no bathroom on the fitst floor, a slight concern for my older mother and even though she did have to go upstairs to go to bed I wish she hasn't had to go upstairs every time she needed to use the restroom. Also only 2 of the 3 bedrooms had an airconditioner unit in the window. Although it was an extremely hot weekend the house is fairly well shaded and we ended up giving my mom who is always cold the room without ac and she was fine. But overall we had a great stay.

We're so glad you came and could make due with what we have to offer. We have ideas in the works to accommodate the Grandmas for sleeping, as we get many asking for local college graduations. AC in that third bedroom would block fire exit requirements, so we err on the side of caution there!

If you are looking for a quiet house in the woods, this place is for you! The common spaces were roomy and adequate for 4 adults. Although there are sleeping arrangements for 10, I think the main space would be crowded with this many people. I had envisioned enjoying the patio but was not able to do so. I forgot that being in the woods bugs. Especially with all the rain received in the area just prior to our arrival. The window AC units in the upstairs bedrooms provided good sleeping temperatures but the main level could be a bit on the warm side. We visited the last week of June. Having a full size laundry was great and saved us from running out of clothes!I was slightly disappointed in the cleanliness of the house. The front of the refrigerator and toaster oven really need to be wiped down as did the inside of the window sills throughout the house. The owner did share that power was out for a few days until the day of our arrival due to a recent storm; maybe they did not have enough time to clean as thoroughly.... Also, the kitchen as well as the bathrooms did not have much space for our own personal items - every drawer was full as were all the shelves. All in all, this was a good rental for our group.

The Perfect Getaway

The 'Retreat at Firefly Falls' was perfect for my family and me. We attended the 2022 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony weekend and wanted a property that was affordable but was also an easy drive away from the 'hustle and bustle' of Cooperstown. The Retreat at Firefly Falls delivered on both counts and then more. This property is situated in the rolling hills of Madison County with trees and streams/waterfalls all around. The actual building is nestled into the forest and it is perfectly appointed. We did not want for anything while staying there. For us, this was the 'perfect' property for my family. In addition to this, Robin H was the perfect host; always prompt and accommodating in responding to any requests and/or questions I had in the lead-up to our stay and during our stay. I would definitely recommend this VRBO rental to anyone wanting peace and solitude while still being close enough to the area's many attractions. Craig B (from Newmarket, ON)

Keith (the hands that do) and Robin (the big idea girl) grew up in Mexico, NY. Our favorite season is ORANGE basketball season, followed a close second by camping season. When Robin graduated from SU's School of Architecture and Keith from Clarkson University we started our A&E careers and family in Rhode Island. A decade later we found we had to move "home" to New York, nothing quite compares to Upstate for us. Lima, near Rochester, became our new home base where we've raised a nature loving family. Like us, our three children love the outdoors, camping, hiking, exploring and scuba diving. In the fall of 2016 we found this property on a fluke and fell in love all over again!

Avid campers for over 25 years, we finally found a permanent piece of serenity to call our own on Stockbridge Falls in Munnsville. Each year we would search for the perfect piece of calm while camping with our family. We've explored the Adirondacks, RV'ed cross country, frequented hike in sites and we believe we have finally found the best campsite ever on Stockbridge Falls. (Partially because we're getting too old to sleep on the ground!) We are thrilled to share our Cottage and Retreat at Firefly Falls, right on the middle cascade of Stockbridge Falls with our guests looking for the peace and solitude vacation time deserves. How we became Firefly Falls: After a long, hot day of renovations and improvement, in which we'd had all the windows and doors open to catch all the breezes, we laid down to sleep. After a moment of rest we opened our eyes to see the flickering glow of fireflies had filled the Cottage. It added just one more element of magic to our favorite place to be together. We hope you love our home away from home as much as we do.

Our solitude will draw you in, the mild roar of our waterfall will captivate and our cottages will encourage you to slow down, relax and enjoy nature. You definitely need a car to get here and explore all the great offerings of the local area but you just might just decide to sit on the deck, cook on the grill, play board or card games around the large gathering tables and sing around the campfire... those are our summer plans!
