Welcome to Lowell’s Cove Cottage, a quaint two bedroom home just a short walk away from beautiful Lowell’s Cove, the perfect place to swim, launch a kayak, and comb the beach for treasures. 

Inside the cottage, you’ll find open, sunlit living spaces with views of the cove, two bedrooms, a full bathroom with shower/tub combo, a living room with a smart tv, kitchen with all you need to cook a delicious meal at home, and a lovely sunroom with a sofa and dining table that opens to a deck overlooking a spacious lawn. This home has been lovingly cared for and features refinished hardwood floors and new carpet for the 2021 rental season.  The living room furniture was updated in 2022 and thanks to new heat pumps for 2023, the home is now equipped with air conditioning.

Located in the heart of Orr’s Island, you’ll love exploring the neighborhood, stopping at Salt Cod Cafe or the Bailey Island General Store for baked goods, necessities, soups, and sandwiches, dining at Sundrenched and Cook’s Lobster & Ale House, and shopping at Land’s End Gift Shop. Book your vacation today and enjoy all this lovely Orr’s Island home has to offer.

it was so much like home had everything we needed just needed more towels for the time we stayed but had more in closet so it was perfect so recommend for anyone so quiet nice nighbors

Perfect Maine Cottage

We absolutely loved this property & would definitely come back! We (husband & wife) took our 18-month daughter and had everything we needed (including high chair, sippy cups, etc). The property is a lovely location on Orr’s island and the walk around the neighborhood was lovely. We took a stroll every morning and everyone in the neighborhood is so friendly. We felt very safe in the area. The owners are very conscientious and checked in on us during arrival. Highly recommended!

Quaint Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very clean and had just about anything you could possibly need. The bed was very comfortable. The property managers were great communicators. Received a text in the morning of our arrival date with instructions including key code to get in, directions to the location etc. They even texted us one day warning of impending storms and a friendly reminder to make sure all windows were closed. There were written instructions for the check out procedure as well as a binder with user manuals for all appliances and the heat pump. They really thought of everything. Just an overall great experience and I would definitely rent from them again.

Reviewer Comments: Just OK...great location...house is clean, old with very poor beds and even worse couches. Clearly a rental money play. No heat except via open oven door. Orrs is great and got to watch my alma mater trounce Williams...something we never did when I played years ago. Asked agents for a far better 6/1-10/31 Orrs rental next year but they, sadly, never followed up

Hi Peter, We're sorry to hear you had trouble with the heat. Had you reached out regarding this issue, we certainly would have helped you operate the new heat pump (offering heat and AC). There are instructions on the remote mounted to the wall by the heat pump in the living room, but if any part was unclear, we would have been happy to stop by and help. The queen mattress and bedding was purchased new in 2021 and the couch and chairs in the living room were just purchased new in 2022. The owners of the home care deeply about guests and their comfort at the house and continue to make improvements each season. During our cold and damp spring and hot and humid summer, the new heat pump with heat and AC was very appreciated by guests, helping to keep them comfortable no matter the weather. For your inquiry regarding an extended stay this year, unfortunately the rates and availability are not available until close to the New Year and to protect our guests' privacy at our other homes, we do not offer addresses/tours during the season. We thank you for your understanding. We're glad you enjoyed Orr's Island and we hope you are able to find a home that better suits your wants/needs for your next trip! The only thing that might discourage some renters is that the property isn’t on the water, however there is a nearby beach within walking distance.

The neighborhood is beautiful and has a true small-town Maine feeling. There was so much to do within a short drive including breweries, plenty of restaurants (Highly Recommmend Cook's, Sundrenched and Red's), hiking trails, and all that Boothbay has to offer. Cleaning, commuication and trash removal were also made very simple!

Location

Orrs Island is off the commercial path, very peaceful, yet a short ride to Cooks Corner/Brunswick. Bath near by and LL Bean. Much nature to enjoy on Orrs and Bailey Islands. I stayed on Bailey Island 50 years ago, considering the present time it still has the same charm and peace of a maine working island.
