A Salty Kiss | Gulf Views, Steps to Bermuda Beach

Spacious home located in Bermuda Beach Galveston with an excellent view of the water! This is a very special, luxurious home in Bermuda Beach with lovely beach views from two decks facing the Gulf of Mexico.

The home features 4 bedrooms and 3 baths and will accommodate up to 14 guests. The primary bedroom has a king bed, private en suite bath and a twin/twin trundle. 2nd bedroom has a king bed, 3rd bedroom also has a king bed plus a twin over twin trundle (room sleeps 4), 4th bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bunk bed (room sleeps 4). All new everything - too much to mention!

Home is located on convenient John Reynolds Road in Bermuda Beach. Less than 2 minute walk to the beachfront. Bermuda Beach is close to all that Galveston has to offer, not far from Schlitterbahn, Moody Gardens, The Historic Strand District.

Bermuda Beach has the best of both worlds, with a drive-on portion of the beach to the East of the neighborhood for those who prefer to drive their vehicle or golf cart and those with limited mobility and most of the beach in this neighborhood is walk-on only, ideal for families with little ones.

Salty Kiss -personal beach items

The house was very nice and accommodating to our large family. One very important message Don’t leave your tents, beach chairs, pac-n-plays, any personal items on the beach overnight. There are no signs down at the beach entrance that is close to this house notifying you that you cannot leave overnight. Our belongings were picked up and disposed of.

Beautiful, near beachfront, almost perfect

Location/ proximity to beach and view from balconies were great! The house is done well, beautifully decorated, well equipped with linens and cookware, and very nice & comfortable beds. The communication with host once checked in and experienced major incidents was non-existent, including a clogged toilet with feces left behind from a previous guest, stinking up the primary bedroom right upon check in. How a cleaning service missed that is beyond me and tells me the house was not freshly cleaned or even checked before our check in. I then submitted with the management company who was responsive to my submission, but when maintenance came to fix it, he didn’t bring cleaning supplies. So then a separate request had to be made for housekeeping to clean the toilet, which wasn’t until the next day! And then, a major safety hazard incident happened - the porch swing completely collapsed while guests were on it from rotted wood & improper install, I notified them again and they were pretty apathetic & did the bare minimum to resolve, which was waiting a full day to remove the broken beam and bench with exposed screws off the porch (we had 5 children in our party). This is with instant notification, and submitted pictures from the maintenance visit. I still have not received a call from VRBO or Ryson or the Host / Owner to discuss how they are going yo make this right as we wasted hours of our trip on these issues instead of enjoying my son’s birthday on the beach.

Great beach house

Great interior. Excellent views of the gulf. Block away from the beach. Satellite in every bedroom. Has everything for cooking. Master is huge. Good size bedrooms. Can’t go wrong with this one.

fantastic property for large group

This was a great property for a large group. We loved that three of the rooms had King beds and two of those had additional twins. We put our teenagers in the bunk room! The layout was fantastic. We ran into two small issues but the mgt group was extremely responsive!

A great getaway

It was a very nice house overall that had everything you needed. a short walk to the beach and great view. A brand new grill outside to use(past reviews said rusty grill). Just some minor touch ups needed in the bathrooms. Other wise a great family getaway with a private beach.( not crowded at all, no cars on the beach in the section in front of the area.)

A successful trip

Overall a successful weekend at this property! The house was actually better than I anticipated and truly a neat house. Kitchen was well equipped with all cooking needs aside from consumables (trash bags, detergent etc.) which was stated in the check in process. The walk to the beach was perfect and the view was beautiful. Neighborhood was fairly quiet with some houses vacant due to unbooked rentals. Only cons I’d say is there were a few small maintenance issues I tried to report but the responsiveness from the company was spotty. Called twice and still waiting to hear back. The house could also use a good paint job on the interior walls and trim as there are several scuff marks, high and low. Aside from that, we had a fun time and enjoyed the property.

Nice getaway, only 2 minor problems

My family and I escape to Galveston island every year for spring break. Staying out towards the West End is great because it’s a lot quieter, and a lot less crowded. Bermuda Beach is still close enough to pop in to Walmart if you need a bigger shop, but also near enough to a small general store at Pirates Beach for your “whoops I forgot it” stuff. The house was terrific. Nicely laid out, plenty of comfortable beds. Kitchen equipped with everything you’d likely need except perhaps a griddle for pancake breakfasts. Less than 2 minute walk to beach. And only partially obscured view of the surf from the deck. A couple small complaints on the property. 1. The dishwasher is not great... really have to fully scrub to get things clean. Quick brushing off and rinsing will still leave you gross dishes in the end. 2. The grill is a rust bucket, not sure it’s even safe to use any more. Rusted metal flaking off all over the outside AND inside. The side door hinges are completely rusted off and it’s just hanging on by the latch. If you’re looking forward to grilling for your family a lot while here like I was, you’ll probably want to bring a grill or buy a cheap-o one at Walmart. This one is trash. Other than that, loved it. Would highly recommend.

A bit disappointing

My family rented this house because it had 5 star reviews and the location near the beach was important to us. There were 10 adults and two children. We loved being close to the beach, the porch / porch swing, the outdoor shower, the size of the home and the luxury of three bathrooms. We were disappointed with the overall cleanliness. Our white socks were black by the end of the first day and there seemed to be a layer of grime on the dishes and the front door windows. We were only supplied with six rolls of toilet paper (two per bathroom?), so we had to purchase our own mid week. The kitchen knives were dull, one of the coffee pots didn't work, and the kitchen wasn't even supplied with the basics, like salt and pepper, or handsoap at ANY of the sinks. The home had a washer and dryer, but it took about eight hours to dry a load of towels. We were told not to move the thermostat above 70 degrees, so it became very warm upstairs at night. The mattress in the room with the bunk beds needs replacing because it sagged in the middle. They told us we would have access to the beach toys, but were never given a key to open the storage room door. The entry door lock was tricky and that was probably the reason the front door was unlocked when we arrived - kind of scary. We have rented many Airbnb's and VRBO before and this was the most disappointing experience we've had. I think when the actual homeowners rent out their place, they aim to please; when property managers are involved, like with this one, they don't care if their guests have the basics, like soap and salt.

Avoid Ryson Properties, at all Costs

The house was fine, but my experience with Ryson was terrible. To start it off - 1 week prior to renting the house, I get an email saying that there is a 4 car maximum allowed at the house. I had 10 girls coming in at different times, from all over, for the weekend. Trying to figure out the car situation was a nightmare and 3 people had to park elsewhere, while others had to coordinate picking them up, even though there was ample space for more than 4 cars at the house. The car maximum should have been noted on the VRBO listing - That may have altered my decision to stay there. Due to Hurricane Laura, check in was pushed back to 5pm. Thankfully, after calling twice, they pushed check out to 12n on Sunday, to compensate. However, I’m not sure why they needed the additional 2 hours. The house wasn’t very clean and was missing key items. There was no toilet paper in any of the 3 bathrooms and also, no paper towels. We called to let Ryson know and were told someone would come and bring us what we needed. No one ever came. The refrigerator barely worked to keep things cool. There was one trash bag provided. There were only 6 towels provided. I rented the house, so that it would be easy and convenient for our larger group. The experience was far from easy. I will never stay at another Ryson property and would suggest to anyone that is considering it, to look at other options. It truly is some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

This is our new Go-TO place!

Everything was clean , accessible and designed very well. Checkin was seamless and it has a 2 minute walk to a semi-private beach where it was very clean, quiet and no vehicles allowed in the area. We have been staying in Galveston for years and this is our new favorite place because it has access to anything 5-10 minutes from the location. Lovely place and sleeps a lot of people!

Easy for young children

Rented this property for many reasons and was not disappointed! We have twin 2.5 y/olds and needed to make sure they had room to roam and a place to sleep. The two upstairs bedrooms had a trundle bed in each room along with King beds, giving us the option to choose what room all four of us could be in together. The bedrooms each had a private bath and great views. The downstairs bedrooms had a shared bath, one room had a king bed, the other queen plus a bunk bed. Pleasantly surprised the bathroom even had a toddler seat on the toilet!! The kitchen was well equipped with two coffee makers (including Kuerig), crock pots, tons of baking dishes, extra silverware, extra dishes and even kid friendly unbreakable dishes and cups. There was a cart full of beach toys to haul down the short road to the beach. Each deck had chairs to relax in, a large dining table, and even a nice porch swing. This property exceeded our expectations!

Beautiful home

Very clean beautifully furnished Beachhouse close to the beach. Large decks, comfortable beds, nice location, large master bathroom and shower. Great place to stay!
