Jennifer asked to check in early, which I accommodated. 8.5 hours later, she sent me an extremely rude text saying that they were having trouble with the heat. I responded immediately, and told her I would be right over to check on heat settings. She refused to allow me entry into the cottage. She mentioned that towels were "gross" but would not give me any details. I still set out an additional space heater and extra towels outside her doorway and let her know that I was trying to help. The next morning after they left, when I checked the unit, the temperature was over 70 degrees. Apparently, they did not know how to turn on the fireplace heater (secondary heat). The button had not turned on. The second heater that I put outside for them to use is rated for 300 square feet (high quality and more than sufficient for the bedroom), but found it unplugged in the kitchen and was not warm to the touch even though they had just left. I went through and took video's of the "gross" towels that I found clean and fresh (aside from a mascara stain that Jennifer left on one of the towels). She was absolutely the rudest guest I have ever had, and not sure how I could have rectified any of her issues, when she would not allow me entry. She is also misrepresenting the cottage. This is a separate cottage located on the back of my property BEHIND the garage. This is not a converted garage, but a cute little cottage with its own yard and private off street parking in a little carport outside the entrance. I hope anyone taking the time to read this will note the number of excellent reviews and believe me when I say that this person has some sort of agenda and is trying to give some form of retribution by dissing my little Hideaway because I refused to refund her money. Had I found any issue that could be not have been resolved quickly, I would have no problem refunding, but there was no valid issue and since she would not allow me inside to check on anything, I denied her request. BTW...The towels were recently purchased, and the bedding was new and never used prior to their reservation. I have had the most lovely guests and have enjoyed hosting and meeting these people.
