Breathtaking water, 5 steps to white sandy beach with few neighbors, 2 full kitchens, 2-level vaulted great room, 2 story fireplace, 2 decks, fire pit, 6 kayaks/pfds/paddles, outdoor games, 2 grills, 11 acre property, only 5 miles to public boat dock, 4 miles to state park. 1st floor has master bedroom, plus 5 bedrooms on 2nd floor. We believe this will be one of your most memorable vacations. We have three full bathrooms, two half baths, and two separate individual shower rooms. Outdoor hot/cold shower is a bonus.

That's 6 bedrooms with multiple beds and bunks in some rooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 half baths, 2 shower rooms. 1 outdoor hot/cold shower, 2 full kitchens w/silverware & coffee makers/toasters/blender/pizza cutters, crock pots, etc, 2 dishwashers, ample dining tables, outdoor gas grill and Blackstone griddle, huge fireplace, outdoor fire pit, one free rack of wood, 6 kayaks/paddles, pfd's, beach towels, full linens, wifi, toys, games, puzzles, etc. We have two decks. One is covered with a ceiling fan and one uncovered with lounge chairs for sunning. Don't forgot that Lake Michigan's white sandy beach with beach umbrellas and chairs just steps out the back door.

The property was perfect. The house had lots of space carved out for small groups and everyone together. The shear number of full bathrooms was so nice, however water pressure was an ongoing issue.

Excellent stay for a large group

We had a family group stay for a week. The house had plenty of space and the beach is wonderful. The only downside is it might be a bit distant from places to eat so you will need to be doing your own cooking.

Family retreat

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. There was plenty of space to spread out and activities for all ages. The beach was amazing. The kayaks were a big hit and the water was shallow for quite a distance. This vacation was full of happy surprises.

Memorial Day Getaway

During Memorial Day weekend, we decided to rent out this property! The location of this property was private and peaceful, located right on the lakefront, providing incredible views. The property was spacious and clean. The host was very helpful and kind! Looking forward to renting this great property again!

Get away from it all!

Beautiful and well-equipped home to enjoy the water at! Our group of 17 lives just hanging out together outside—volleyball, kayaks, walks along the beach, etc. Great space to hang out inside the home too!

Great VRBO experience!

We had a great stay with my family and extended family, a total of 26 people, in June! The house was spacious, the property had tons of amenities (we loved the vball court and the kayaks), and the beach and lake were perfect for our adults and our 12 littles (ages 3-9)! John was easy to communicate with and the whole process was pretty seamless! Thanks for a great stay... We've recommended and shared your listing with friends!

Wonderful property!

This was an amazing property for our extended family’s vacation! There were five families with ages ranging from 9 to 81 and everyone had a great time. The great room could accommodate all of us for games, puzzles, preparing and eating meals, and just hanging out. There are also plenty of rooms in this home so we never felt cramped or crowded at all. The beach right outside the front door was definitely a bonus and there was a very large area that was fairly shallow for the kids to swim safely. This is a perfect home if you are looking to enjoy sunrises, sunsets, fires in the evening and just relaxing. Would highly recommend!

Family gathering

Our family of nineteen spent five wonderful days at First Light Beach House. From check-in to exit, communication with the owner was excellent. The spacious accommodations made our stay very enjoyable for everyone. The property was spotlessly clean. It is completely furnished and stocked for every situation or desire. There are so many places to gather for group conversations as well. Our family enjoyed swimming, walking the beach, playing bean bag toss, volleyball, board games, cooking meals on the grills, and watching the moon come up while making s’mores during evening campfires. We absolutely loved First Light Beach House and hope to return in 2024

Perfect Spot for Large Family Gathering

Rented this home for a 70th Birthday gathering for my mom and all her kids and grandkids. It was the perfect spot and was plenty of room for our group of 8 adults and 8 kids. My whole family agreed that it would have been hard to find a better place for our event and all of us would rent it again in heartbeat. I'll bullet point some highlights: - Beautiful lake views - Plenty of room for our large group - Grand room was amazing and kitchen areas were more than accommodating to prepare large meals. - Great communication with owner - Excellent beach with soft sand and clear water - Fun to be able to use the kayaks. - Clean rooms and beds If you have little ones and are looking to rent this property, here are a couple things to keep in mind - these are in no way a detraction, just a couple things to keep in mind: - Sunrise is super early during summer months, so you might want to bring extra blackout curtains to hang up over a couple of the bedroom windows that face East. - Bedroom floors were carpeted or wood, but floors in main grand room are hard so if you have infants, be sure to bring some soft blankets or mats for them to crawl/lay on. Loved staying here, would highly recommend.

Perfect Place to Stay

This place was even better than advertised. A lot of room to hangout inside, outside, on the beach and tons of beds for everyone to sleep comfortably. All the additional provided amenities were awesome as well. Great time

Spacious, beautiful place on the water

We had a large group (12 adults and 12 kids - all under 6). Plenty of space and things to do for everyone. We stayed on the property the whole time (except for some kayak rides) and didn’t feel trapped or cramped at all. The water and sky were different every day and beautiful. We saw two rainbows and regularly woke up to see the sunrises. The evening skies were incredible. The great room is massive and where we spent a lot of our time and ate all of our meals; it held us all comfortably with a lot of extra space. We enjoyed the fire pit in the sand, the sand volleyball court, the large beachfront, the main deck, the two refrigerators, the flattop grill, and all the games and books. John was an excellent host, fielding our questions quickly and even making sure there was enough at the place for the kids. A couple of the days, the water and sky had more of a Florida/Hawaii feel than a Midwest feel. For our stay, the water was ice cold and the biting flies were everywhere, but neither of those things made anyone say they wouldn’t want to go back. That’s how much we enjoyed everything else. We ate in all but one night and got pizza at Jozwiak’s Bar & Grill that night. Highly recommended. Some of us are foodies with a love for Chicago pizza, and it measures up. About 20 min from the place on your way in, but worth the drive (if you don’t catch it on the way). Several of us expressed a desire to come back (even though it’s quite a trip from where a lot of us live), and some even expressed an interest in buying the place (not that it’s for sale!). Just shows how good of a time we had there. It’s wonderful.

Mesmerizing vacation.

This property is amazing. Starting from mesmerizing lake views and sandy beach right outside the house to enormous living/family room with open plan. We went with the group of 5 families with kids, and had plenty of room for everyone. Everybody had lots of fun inside and outside the house. We took many amazing pictures and left with even more great memories. I will definitely recommend this property for your next vacation. Host is very organized and very helpful

Thanks for coming to our page. Marita and John here, the owners. We fell in love with the area over a decade ago while vacationing with our three children. We recently retired from owning a business and enjoy exploring Michigan's Upper Peninsula with our Bernese Mountain Dog, Eli. We love the water, water falls, and hiking. But also enjoy doing nothing at all in the two hammocks, sitting on the white sandy beach, or pulled up next to a roaring fire at the fire pit.

You will find this property quiet and serene. When you enter through the old stone posts at the driveway, you will immediately feel like you are leaving the hustle and bustle of where you came from. The gravel lane snakes through dense trees for about a quarter mile until it opens up to the sand, water, and house. It is a large and welcoming site with lake charm. We have kept many historical items from the past owners, Dominican Priests from River Forest. The accent walls are old ballpark bleachers. Ceilings are pine and cedar. Counters are old walnut slabs grown on the property years ago. You'll have a brand new kitchen with twin dishwashers, and a well aged retro kitchen. You can't beat sitting in our Adirondack chairs watching the water, sometimes calm, sometimes dynamic. Close to Menominee, MI, amenities and two golf courses.
