We had a wonderful stay here. The check-in and instructions were clear and easy to follow. We were able to park right outside our door. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Home away from Home

If you want an amazing "Home away from Home" feeling. This is surely it. Everything you could possibly need is here. From the fully equipped kitchen to the amazing covered porch. From the moment we walked in, we were at home. Because of the washer and dryer, we didn't take any dirty clothes back home with us. So much was provided for us to " get us started ". My family would surely stay at this apartment home again.

We enjoyed our stay at the SeaGypsy Escape. The property was spacious and perfectly located. The only negative about the property was the cooking utensils (pots, pans, knives, spatula, etc) were old and could use replacing as well as the teapot, which was broken and still had water left in it. The keurig machine also had left over water in it as well as built up residue.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was as described, clean and comfortable. In the mornings you can hear the waves gently coming ashore. The beach is across Halibut Point Road hidden by a few trees. The grocery store is a very short walk and has an attached liquor store if needed. The house would comfortably cater 4 adults but sleeps 5. We will be back and would happily visit the Gypsy again.

Trying to charge me for a table I didn't damage. Hand towel in bathroom was not clean - it smelt used and like mildew. There was dirty laundry in the washer that smelt of mildew. The place was generally nice.

Clean but old and musty

I have very mixed feelings about this apartment . First 2 queen beds and a twin do not sleep 6 people unless you count the couch as a bed. There is new linoleum flooring throughout the apartment except in 1 bedroom. That bedrooms carpet is very stained and smells a lot like my grandma. It was wonderful having a kitchen but we ended up going out and buying our own frying pan because the one's there were so scratched up we didn’t trust to use them. It was great having a smart rv, the mattresses were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The shower had great water pressure and got nice and hot. But by far the best part was the location. Being able to see the ocean from the patio and being able to walk to the store was great. We would probable stay here again because of the location and price but the grandma smell is kind of burnt into my nose.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this house for a visit with family from out of state. The space worked really well for the 6 of us. We particularly enjoyed being able to cross the street to beach comb along the rocky shore. There are other easier beach-access areas within a 1/4 mile to a couple miles down the road. The house had plenty of cookware and whatever else we needed during our stay. We had an issue getting in on arrival as a result of someone accidentally locking an internal door after the door you enter with the key entry pad, but the local office responded quickly to help us get in. The space was quiet after a day out exploring town or participating in recreational activities. We rented a car to get us around. It would be a bit of a walk or bike ride to get to downtown Sitka along a busy road, but doable.

The heating system was being upgraded when we were there, but Columbus (on-site manager) was very good about keeping us informed and making sure we had heat if we needed it (he was very nice).

House is easy to access on the main road but set back so its not loud or busy. Loved the covered porch and the spacious mudroom with washer/dryer. Nice location. We'll stocked kitchen. Nice to have laundry on sight.

Vacuum didn't work well. Tried to clean the filter but it was extremely dirty. Might want a new one put in. Some one who used the dryer before us must have had a piece of gum left in a clothing item. Residue was on the dryer drum. Tried to clean myself but couldn't get it off.
