The Bayou Bungalow - Cozy Bungalow, King Bed, near East Beach!

The Bayou Bungalow was designed and built by locally famous Carroll Ishee and is just a few blocks from East Beach and the Gulf Islands National Park. Cozy and private but close to all the fun you want in OSMS. The bungalow has a big wraparound porch surrounded by trees making it the perfect peaceful spot for morning coffee or cocktails after exploring the area.

Very cozy and clean! Excellent space to spend Thanksgiving week alone with just the two of us and our four-legged princess. She loved laying on her bed and watching all of the wildlife out the full-length back wall glass. We ran into the owners while we were out for a walk one day and the are very nice and genuine. Communication was great - all questions answered in a very imely manner. Ocean Springs is a wonderful town and we look forward to our next visit and stay at the Bayou Bungalow!

Host was responsive, friendly, and informative. We felt very welcomed. The Bayou Bungalow was a PERFECT stay for us! Its clean, angular architecture appealed to my mom while the natural wood accents and ample outside viewscapes were my favorite elements. Cozy, comfortable, and unique!

Perfect artist retreat

We had a lovely time enjoying all the natural light in this house. It’s situated in a peaceful area right by the national park. The back deck is perfect for relaxing. A red cardinal and butterflies came to visit us daily. The host was super gracious about our pets and responsive. We loved learning about Carroll Ishee and the impact he has left on the art and culture of Ocean Springs. Every detail of this place was a joy- down to the Pendleton mugs and blankets!

Peace and Comfort in a beautiful natural setting

Lovely home tucked in lush surroundings

This is one of the nicest VRBO rentals we have stayed in. It's a great, simple design with everything you need to relax indoors and outside on the big covered deck overlooking bamboo plantings. It's very private though located in a traditional neighborhood. Close to East Beach. Everything you might need is provided. Look forward to returning.

Peaceful retreat

We spent a week at this charming bungalow. It was just as pictured and very clean. The bedroom and living/dining room are spacious and light. The furnishings are comfortable and there is ample storage in all the rooms for an extended stay. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and is just a short drive to the beach and the downtown shops and restaurants. Since it is nestled into a wooded lot it doesn’t even feel like you’re in a residential area. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the birds and watching the squirrels. It was a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

Bayou Bungelow Bliss

The property was exactly as described. We loved the deck facing the trees. Everything we needed was provided. Ocean Springs has a cute downtown with shops and restaurants. We very much enjoyed our stay. Try The Shed for great BBQ!

Good for a couple

It’s a great little bungalow for a couple. We had a teenager with us and there wasn’t really a place for him to sleep or extra linens. But it’s a cute place. We loved the back porch. We would come back again without any kids.

Quiet and peaceful

We had a fantastic time here celebrating our anniversary together with our little one. The hosts were top notch. On our stay we talked about how cool it would be to build something like it for our own. The area is lively with no shortage of things to do. We just were short on time. We will most certainly be back.

Short stop on our Southern road trip

We had heard great things about Ocean Springs, and had an opportunity to stay here for 2 nights. The place was great for a couple with a small dog. Lots of areas to walk, and easy access to downtown! Nice location!

The bungalow is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, the first of three Carrol Ishee houses that are exactly the same. Next door to this bungalow is 103 Myrtle, which is another property of ours - and will soon be available to stay in as well.

We fell in love with this house immediately and saw how great of a place it could be for couples and smaller families visiting Ocean Springs and the surrounding Gulf Coast. The floor to ceiling windows opening on to the porch, high ceilings, and proximity to downtown Ocean Springs as well as East Beach bring the best that the Gulf Coast has to offer only minutes away.
