Appalling experience, do not book! missold as a private villa this is a shared villa
THIS PROPERTY IS REPRESENTED AS A PRIVATE SHARED VILLA - IT IS NOT, ITS TWO VILLAS IN ONE, ALL FACILITIES ARE SHARED. . This is actually 2 properties which sleeps approx. 8 to 10 in each and all facilities shown are shared.; garden, pool, jacuzzi and gym.
The owner informed me that the property is 3 min drive the beach and town it is actually a 15 min drive.
Upon arrival there is also a charge per person per day for use of the gym which the owner fails to inform you on the website or before you book.
There are similar villas priced at half the price available where one can have their own private facilities. If I had known I was booking a shared house I would never have booked it. I feel conned.
The website says no parties/events, unfortunately one cannot rely on this as what I thought was my private villa for a week was indeed shared with a "stag do" , they showed up and I was told that I had to share the facilities with another group of people. I decided to leave the property as I had under my care my children and their friends. Upon the stag party’s arrival, they had brought lots of alcohol on to the property and speakers to the pool, music was blaring. The owner made no effort to stop this.
Not only did the owner show zero understanding or empathy, he offered no compensation and had arguments that are simply beyond belief. All my attempts to resolve were responded with nasty remarks and sarcasm. He even went as far as blackmailing me to accept a small compensation (14%) of the total cost of my ruined holiday and threatened legal action if I persisted in making a claim against him or contacted him when trying to resolve.
This has been a traumatic experience for myself and for my children having to find an alternative hotel and pack up and leave in the middle of the night on our 3rd day. I had to leave food behind as I could not fit it in my car, drive my dogs back home (2.5hours) and find alternative cover for them. One can imagine the trauma and additional costs involved.
I have never had problems with any holiday rentals. This property is misrepresented on this website.
Home & Away has been informed of this complete misrepresentation of the property and completely unprofessional behaviour of the owner.
